What is UPlay? We Look At The Steam Rival

What is Uplay

What is Uplay?

Ubisoft is a known name in gaming industry. Known for its multiplayer games, the company launched Uplay as to promote a social community experience among players. Now known as Ubisoft Club, Uplay works same as any other achievements/trophies based reward service offered by other gaming brands.

Apart from being a reward program, Uplay is also a DRM, multiplayer communication service. The service is supported on multiple platforms including desktops, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Android, Windows Phone, Facebook, iOS among others. Use of Uplay is made exclusively by generic Ubisoft games.

UPlay Shop

Launch History

Uplay was launched in 2009 with Assassin’s Creed II. However the initial version was not received positively with many users facing technical problems and crashes. Uplay was re-branded as the Ubisoft Club in 2015 after release of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate's release. It still suffers from the odd bug and reminds me a lot of Steam back in its early days. Heres hoping it can lift its game!

What is Uplay's Features?

Players earn points known as Units playing Uplay enabled games, earning 5 to 40 units on performing any of the four specified actions. The earned Units can be used to unlock various rewards related to a game. Gamers are not bound to use the Units only for the game in which they are earned. The Units can be used to purchase rewards from any Uplay enabled game.

In words of Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, Uplay is based on "the more you play, the more free goods you will be able to have" philosophy.

Uplay adds extra value to Ubisoft games. In the Uplay menu you will find the following:

  • Uplay Win - Uplay can be activated either through the in-game display or via Uplay website. After activation, players can connect with other gamers as well as earn rewards on performing Actions as indicated. The rewards can be redeemed or saved for better rewards later.
  • Uplay Help - Players can enjoy Ubisoft games at their best making use of Uplay Help tips and guidance. Here you will find help from developers and other players (yeah! Awesome I know). You can also contribute and help other players with your knowledge.
  • Uplay Share - You can create pictures, statistics, videos and other in-game stuff and share it with your friends and Uplay community using Uplay Share.
  • Uplay Shop - This is where you can buy addition content for your favorite games directly from Ubisoft.

Registering and using Uplay set of services is entirely free. Uplay Shop however has both free and premium content. You can also sign in with your Facebook account if you want.

What is Uplay's Client Like?

In July, 2012 the Uplay desktop client was released. The client replaced Ubisoft Game Launcher and enabled users to link their Ubi profiles across all platforms including social networks, PC, mobile and consoles.

Users can access the client using same single Uplay account across all platforms. Same account can be used to access Ubisoft’s forums and other websites. There is no need to make a new account to access Uplay Client and players can use their existing account for log in.

Reception and Responses

Uplay is not able to popularize itself like Steam and Origin. There were mixed reactions from gamers where some liked the added set of Uplay services while others struggled with bugs and crashes.

Is G2A legit? We Review The Goliath

Is G2A legit? We Review The Goliath

G2A is the eBay of gaming. The website is available worldwide in pretty much every language. It’s offer are solid and consists of Steam, Origin, UPlay, Battle.net and other CDKeys. But is G2A legit?

Their main competitor is Kinguin but G2A manages just fine when it comes to features and site speed. The site loads fast and doesn’t have a lot of annoying banners or popups. It has its own mobile app which really helps when you’re browsing on your phone. There is no iOS or Windows Mobile version though so you need an Android phone. The app is available on Google Play and has a fair amount of positive reviews.

The categories on G2A are easy to understand and you will be able to find any game you’re looking for in matter of few minutes. The latest games and promos are always featured on the main page so you can’t miss anything.

G2A Main

Business Details

G2A has two offices, one in China (Hong Kong, Unit 1401, 14/F Treasure Centre, 42 Hung To Road, Kwun Tong) and one in Poland (Kraków 31-523, Stanisława Moniuszki 26/7 street, this is where their support team is registered). All of their business info is clearly visible at their company website at http://www.g2a.co, you can even apply for a job at the site – it proves that it’s serious business and they keep on expanding.

Products and Pricing

G2A provides a complex marketplace for individual sellers from around the world, this way gamers worldwide are always having a lot of offers to choose from.! More competition means better prices for the end consumer. Well at least in theory because when you compare some titles on CDKeyPrices you will find that G2A doesn’t always have the best offer but somehow it’s way more popular among players.

G2A’s marketplace allows the selling of DLC’s, gold and power items for some games – however CDKeyPrices doesn’t compare those because they are usually more expensive than on their original platforms. However, the digital console CDKeys are always nicely priced so make sure to check out some PlayStation Keys (PS3 and PS4) as well as Xbox Download Codes (Xbox 360 and Xbox One). Unfortunately there aren’t as many sellers of console codes as there are PC CD Keys, probably because of their higher price and difficulty in sourcing them.

Another great feature of the marketplace is G2A Shield which protects you against shady sellers, so if you don’t full trust particular seller or if their reviews aren’t great make sure to pay additional €1/£1/$1 for it.

Reputation

G2A works amazingly fast and even allows to use other languages than English, depending on what customer care assistance you get in touch with. I’m pretty sure if you send an e-mail in your native language someone is going to respond in it, although it might take longer to get response. If you are still asking the question is G2A legit, why not do a test run on their helpdesk?

The marketplace supports both e-mail and live chat help 24/7. Their official Twitter account has 626K followers and Facebook profile has over 1.7 Million (!) likes. This is really impressive and once again proves that G2A is huge.

Trustpilot gives an amazing score of 8.9/10 with 151914 reviews. Those one star reviews are usually related to order mix-ups or some other issue which should be easily fixed by G2A customer support. Feel free to have a look through them all.

Payment Options

All the majors are covered with credit card, Paypal, Skrill, Paysafe and UKash offered. The site also accept bitcoins through Bitpay gateway.

G2A allows pretty much every currency I can think of and a bunch of more. It also adds the applicable tax for your country if it has any. You can select a currency without any taxes, nothing is stopping you from doing that except for your conscience. Gamers will always find the best price ;)

CDKeyPrices conducted a few tests to make sure if they currencies converted fine and it all turned out OK. G2A doesn’t seem to be making any profit off of currency conversion which is very welcomed. The only gripe here is they add a fee for paypal, so be prepared to see the price a little higher on the checkout screen.

Final Thoughts & Coupons

We came here asking is G2A legit. We get a lot of emails about them and they have been in the news a lot lately. What we found impressed us. G2A just keeps getting bigger and thanks to sponsoring of major e-sport events they keep on growing. I have bought many games on G2A myself and didn’t really have any major problems with their payment system or key delivery, it’s all perfect and just works. They don’t have the best prices available but at least you can trust them, unlike those small, 3rd party sellers – but we do have to trust those a little bit too, after all they make the price lower for all of us!

This concludes the G2A review, as usual send us your thoughts and opinions by leaving a comment. For an extra 3% off your next order use our special G2A voucher on checkout: cdkeyprices.

CD Keys Discount Code – Does One Exist?

CD Keys Discount Code - Does One Exist?

I've been in this game a long time. I've said it on many times that cdkeys.com is my all time favorite store. One thing I know however is that coupons for the site are extremely hard to come by. Now I have a great working relationship with the owner. We talk regularly on Skype. His site is one of the most popular out there so I'm always making sure I'm giving my users the best experience by correctly linking to their product and the prices are all up to date. There is one issues however that we never seem to get resolution on. A CD Keys Discount Code unique for CDKeyPrices

I began the campaign...

Kinguin esport venture helps cd key reputation

Esports Kinguin G2A

Every big company hates it's competitors with passion. Valve Software does too, well not only them. The big corporations can't stand the fact that small businesses from around the world always manage to sell the game keys a lot cheaper than them and they can't really do much about it. Steam was suppose to be cheaper than the retail games in the first place but now it's the other way around. Eastern European businesses are really trying to do everything they can to legitimize their image online - there a lot of really bad comments on the net saying that companies like G2A are shady, illegal etc which is simply not true. This is where esport comes in. Esport is getting bigger with each big competition, doesn't matter if it's Counter-Strike, League of Legends, DOTA 2 or any other competition, it always brings millions of fans in one place and that's probably the best way to advertise.

Did you know that esport is a part of national sport in South Korea? Learn more about esport by going here.

G2A and esport

G2A was sponsoring the Intel Extreme Masters 2016 in Katowice, Poland. They have also sponsored a lot of players during the event. G2A was present during the whole 10th Season of Intel Extreme Masters. Events like this give them the opportunity to positively affect and encourage CDKey sales around the world. It also shows that they are serious about what they're doing.

Esport

Esport was always a huge deal for G2A. They have invested millions of dollars in the growth of esports. G2A In-Game Skins for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are really pissing off everybody at Steam. It's the ideal solution for the European companies. Players love the skins as well!

However some companies hate G2A and other CDKey stores with passion and for some reason they decide to cover their logos during events, here is an example:

Esport
paiN Gaming's tweaked jersey

Teams sponsored by G2A, including: Cloud 9, CLG, H2K and paiN Gaming have removed G2A’s logo from their clothing and merchandise at Worlds 2015. G2A got into trouble with the League of Legends developer Riot Games over a listing on its site promoting services from a third party that sells game accounts and offers elo boosting services, both of which violate the Riot terms of service and rules.

G2A responded that they've invested over $6 000 000 in esport sponsorship since 2014 and remained committed to working with partners to empower the esport industry. They also say that this decision will have an impact on its valued esports partners, players and fans.

What about Kinguin?

Kinguin even had it's own esport team called Team Kinguin, organization was sponsored directly by them. That was actually pretty brilliant to do, if some companies don't want to put their logos on players just start your own team of players! They are currently competing under the name G2 Kinguin formerly known as G2 Esports, a Spanish organization, which is also directly sponsored by Kinguin.net.

Esport

That's just really some of many examples of how those companies are fighting Steam and other huge corporations. What do you guys think?

Steam Keys – Can Valve Remove Them?

Will Valve Revoke My Steam Keys?

The Internet is a dangerous place. Sometimes data gets stolen, even steam keys! Even whole identities. If people aren't cautious enough, especially when using online payment methods such as VISA, Master Card or even PayPal, their money gets stolen.

What can you do with stolen money? You most definitely won't be spending it in the stores or gas stations because it's dangerous, it's easier for thieves to buy things online, such as gift cards on Amazon, VISA pre-paids that give them some sort of anonymity. Unfortunately sometimes they buy Steam gift cards, steam keys from various stores or even Steam gifts. They later sell them to people online and earn "legal" money. Ideal for them right?

Online Security

After a while when the victims realize they got screwed they start to call banks, stores and everyone else who charged their card. They get their money back eventually and this is when it starts to get ugly.

Big players like Amazon for example revoke the legitimacy of the keys. Recent case shows that even keys bought directly on developer's site get stolen like this and sold for a lot less on services like G2A which is literally eBay for gaming. You always need to look at the buyer you're getting your key from because if it has no or bad reviews it's probably a scam. Always try to use the G2A Shield feature if you're not sure of the seller. It gives you 100% money back guarantee for additional $1 if you buy a game.

So lets ask the question, can Steam revoke my CD Key?

Yes, in particular cases they can and they enforce that aggressively if they developer, publisher or someone who got screwed requests it. We can't really blame them, it's a business after all.

There was a big case including Sniper Elite 3 few years ago. Long story short, a total of 7,050 Sniper Elite 3 keys were stolen and given to online resellers, who then sold them on to unknowing buyers.

Neither Rebellion nor their publisher saw revenue from the sale of thousands of their game keys. They've ordered Steam to revoke access to the game for users with the stolen keys. However, Rebellion offered a free DLC "Target Hitler" to anyone who provided proof of purchase of an illegitimate key.

There was also a case when DiRT 3 CD Keys leaked online from the AMD promo that they were having. Over 1 000 000 of keys leaked online (!) and took advantage of AMD's mistake. Steam quickly revoked the keys though.

What can you do?

Shop responsibly, try to use trusted online retailers even if their price is a little bit higher than the less known one's. Better be safe then sorry, right? Besides there's always special discount vouchers that we can provide so if there are any please search for the desired titles on CDKeyPrices and there might be a special discount coupon there.

Also don't forget to look at the CD Key Store Reviews on our site which could help you in making the right decision.

G2A Shield – Is It Worth It?

G2A Shield

G2A has been in the news a lot lately. After a bit of a public spat with Tiny Build and some fraudulent keys sold via G2A, I followed with interest to see how G2A would respond. I took particular note of G2A's continued references to its G2A Shield, and how users had elected to make a purchase with it would get a refund. But what exactly is G2A shield?

2016-07-02 10_02_46-Payment Methods _ G2A Pay

Given that G2A is a third party marketplace, they do, on occasions, have issues with its sellers selling fraudulent keys. Just like Ebay has scammers, G2A has some scammers as well. To help counteract this and give its buyers some confidence, G2A Shield gives its users the following features;

  • Money Back - Have immediate regrets often? You can get your money back within 5 minutes of your purchase if you want to.
  • Fraud Protection - Any issues, such as those from the Tiny Build debacle, you are protected.
  • All Products - It's not just cd keys that gain the protection, but CSGO skins, time cards etc.
  • Lower Seller Fees - If you are a seller for anything in the G2A marketplace, this is an absolute must for you!
  • Price Matching - Helpful for those looking to save a bit more money. If you find the product somewhere else for cheaper, they will refund the difference.
  • Prioritized Service - If you have a question or something goes wrong, this could be handy.

So how much is G2A Shield?

There's two options here. There is the one off and the subscription based, month to month option. It depends on your currency, but it comes in at €1 , US$1.10 and AU$1,49 for the one off and €2 a month for the subscrption. A common question I receive if this is a one off fee on checkout or an ongoing subscription. A quick google on the subject reveals a lot of confusion. Admittedly the G2A website is not exactly clear on the issue, something they should probably look into.  It is however a monthly subscription so this is something you need to keep in mine and actively cancel.

G2A Shield

If you are a heavy user of G2A then G2A shield is an absolute must. One off buyers looking to save that extra few dollar could probably get away with purchasing from a trusted seller with a lot of reviews. Me personally, I am a subscriber and use it for piece of mind. Completely up to you!

GOG v Steam – Lets Compare

It's time to compare GOG v Steam.

Is GOG a good competitor? Is Steam fixing it's problems thanks to GOG? Lets find out in the first of our Gog v Steam articles!

Firstly, we start from the beginning. Good Old Games launched in 2008 and it was created by Polish company CDP Investment sp. z o.o. - currently part of CD Projekt which is responsible for The Witcher series. At first GOG promoted older games in a refreshed form. All of the games sold there were from late 80's, 90's and early 00's, they are all compatible with brand new operating systems and sometimes they're refreshed with additional features such as better support for modern screen resolutions, UI fixes etc. Currently GOG is known as GOG.com and sells new games as well, usually indie titles. This is one of the first major advantages over Steam.

gog v steam

Steam launched in 2003 as a platform for Counter-Strike 1.6. It's been a long time since then and now it's the biggest online store on the market. It has the biggest user base and supports a lot of cool features such as: online community, market and workshop - which allows fans to create custom content for games.

So how can we compare the biggest store from USA worth billions of dollars to a small Polish store?

It might seem funny from that perspective but you need to know that GOG's biggest advantage over Steam is lack of any kind of DRM. That's right! You can play any game, anywhere at anytime without Internet access. You can even backup your games to your hard drive and keep them there in case of a nuclear war.

This is probably what made GOG one of the largest Steam competitor over the years. You can even borrow your GOG games to you friends by simply... sending the installation files to them and that's it. This doesn't apply to certain multiplayer games though, so if a game requires an account or a valid CD Key you might not be able to share it like that because you need a separate key or account for this to work.

Imagine borrowing a game to your friend by using Steam. You can share a game to particular Steam account if it logs in on your machine first but if someone else is playing any of your games later on you can't use your Steam account to play games at all, you need to wait until that person finishes the session. Which is really messed up that you can't do that. In the good old days you could just give a CD-ROM to your friend you could borrow each other's games. But that's the past, lets focus on today.

gog v steam

The biggest advantage in the gog v steam debate is Steams catalog. It has the largest catalog of PC games from around the world, some games are not on Steam due to obvious business issues - for example all new Electronic Arts games are no longer there because EA has it's own platform, Origin.

Stay tuned for our next GoG v Steam article.

Can my GOG key be redeemed on Steam?

Can my GOG key be redeemed on Steam?

It’s pretty obvious that every PC gamer dreams of expanding their Steam library. Even though Steam is basically a DRM it makes things really easy. It works flawlessly, it has a huge community of gamers from around the globe with amazing features and it’s game sales can’t be beaten by the competition. And what about those Steam sales!

You have to realize that there are people out there who won’t buy a particular title because it doesn’t come with a Steam key. It might seem crazy but that’s how it is.

What makes Steam so special? Steam was the first gaming distribution platform in the world. It launched in January 2003 along with Counter-Strike 1.6 beta and since then it’s the most popular way to buy games and download mods on personal computers. Good Old Games on the other hand launched in late 2008 - it was created by CD Projekt, the same company that created The Witcher 3. The most interesting thing about GOG is that games bought on it are not DRM protected in any way. Which basically means you can back them up on your hard drive and don’t need a constant Internet connection to play them. This is one of the biggest advantages of GOG over Steam. The catalog is lacking though and that seems to hold people off.

If you’ve recently bought The Witcher 3 or the series in general, you’ve probably noticed that the game does not come with a Steam key. It comes with a GOG key instead. Unfortunately you can’t register GOG game keys on Steam, some games come with both keys though so you need to look carefully for that information before buying.

However, you can actually redeem them the other way around with games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut and The Witcher 2 : Assassins of Kings. Just grab those game keys from your Steam account and redeem them on your GOG account if you want to have access to DRM free versions of these games.

In June 2016 GOG actually launched a thing called GOG Connect where you can connect your GOG account and your recently purchased gog key to your Steam account and transfer some of the available games from Steam to GOG! The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com. Here is the current list of games as of June 2016:

• The Witness
• FTL: Faster Than Light
• The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
• Galactic Civilizations 3
• Trine Enchanted Edition
• Saints Row 2
• Shadowrun Returns
• The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Once you redeem your steam cd key in GOG they will transferred over. You'll be able to permanently import all the games listed above to your GOG library in June 2016 – assuming you own them on Steam. You can connect only one Steam account with your GOG library so do it wisely because the process is permanent. Make sure your Steam community profile is set to public, otherwise you won't be able to do complete the entire process.

How to get a refund on Steam

How to get a refund on Steam

How To Get a Refund on Steam

Have you ever bought an absolutely atrocious game and need to know how to get a refund on Steam? Maybe the game crashes a lot and you simply can't play it? Like most products you buy in the store you can easily get a refund for something faulty. Refunds on digital games were basically non existent...until now. Steam now allows refunds too. Some people hated the platform for that particular reason and when Valve suddenly decided to introduce that feature they have received a lot of very positive feedback from the community.

If you are wondering how to get a refund on steam cd keys, such as though found on our Steam CD Keys page, unfortunately you can't use this system. This one of course if only available to those who purchase games directly from Steam. For your cd-keys you purchased via CDKeyPrices, you will need to check with that store directly, but it is very very doubtful!

All thanks to... EA’s Origin actually, you see it’s always good to have some sort of competition - doesn’t matter what industry, it always makes the prices lower for the end consumers as well as better features. And now since June 2015 you can happily refund any crappy Early Access games or hyped up Ubisoft titles ;) There is a catch though, read below to see what are the terms of Steam refunds.

To even think about a refund you need to make sure that the game you’ve purchased hasn’t been played for less than 2 hours. If it wasn’t you’re ok and you can request a refund. There is also a 14 day window where you can request the refund but even if you’ve bought it, let's say last month, you can still try if you haven’t actually played the game yet. Who knows? Maybe they will agree to it.

Follow those 3 easy steps to get a refund on Steam:

1) Open Steam Help and log in with your Steam account
2) Click on A Purchase

2016-06-28 17_20_33-Steam

3) Find the game you’ve purchased and would like to get a refund for. If your purchase is not listed, it falls too far outside of our refund window and you won’t be able to get a refund :( If it’s there just click on it and follow the steps to request a refund.

2016-06-28 17_20_51-Steam

Now just relax and wait until Valve employee responds, if everything is fine you should see the money back in your Steam wallet in a couple of days - up to 7 days tops. If you ever want to refund another purchase on Steam you gotta know there is an unwritten limit. You can submit any number of refund requests for the purchases but if you are abusing the system they can revoke the access to the refund policy completely.

And last thing, if you ever purchased a game on the Steam store and later after 24 hours it gets discounted, for example on some daily flash sale or weekend deal, you can send a message to Steam support and request a refund too, they will either send you the remaining % of the discounted price to your Steam wallet or refund it completely. Remember that refunds can take up to 7 days and you will need to purchase the intended game as a gift as it’s on sale until the refund has been processed to your bank account or Steam wallet. So, knowing how to get a refund on steam is as easy as that! Any questions or issues, please, let us know.

Kinguin Review – Lets Take A look

Kinguin Review

[dropcap]K[/dropcap]inguin. The main competitor to G2A and your first visit to the site will prove why. The site is extremely professional, if not a little overdone, taking a while to load due to its sheer size. The site is well populated with content, allowing users to browse a range of popular categories, with a number of filters. The code for the site is pretty heavy, with lots of moving banners and ajax scripts slowing it down considerably. Still, it appears well cached and running on a content delivery network which certainly keeps it usable. Upon commencing the Kinguin review, I browsed the website on my mobile for a little research, I was presented with a notification regarding a Kinguin App. When heading to the Google Play Store I was also surprised to see that the app has surpassed ten thousand downloads; testament to just how popular this website is. The app itself is beautiful and makes shopping for cd keys on your phone a breeze. The website on mobile is not optimized very well and the user experience is much better on the app.

[button color="green" size="big" link="http://www.kinguin.net/r/kngrevvcr" icon="" target="true"]Use Voucher Code "CDKeyPrices"[/button]

If you arrive to the website not knowing what game you want to purchase, Kinguin has all games set out into easy to understand categories for you to browse. Filters are also a welcomed edition allowing you to set a maximum price if need be. The latest games are displayed on a rotating banner on the front, which is great for when you know exactly what you are after and your money is burning a hole in your pocket.

Business Details

Kinguin has a number of offices located all over the place. There is one in Hong Kong (boasting Business Registration details of Chamber of Commerce 166 4967 & VAT No: EU528001538), one in Los Angeles, three in Poland and two in Bulgaria. The sheer number of offices is a great indication as to the size and popularity of Kinguin. The vast majority of cd key stores out there on the net have no business details at all, so you can be sure Kinguin is a professional outfit. The website even has a jobs board, advertising for some 30 positions in various places around the world. Customer service reps, country managers, social media mangers, linux system reps are just song of the things available. Growing at a rapid rate means you have to expand quickly!

Products and Pricing

Like G2A, Kinguin not only sells cd keys itself, but also provides a marketplace platform for individuals to sell on the site. The results is an extremely large and competitive product range. Sellers are actively competing with each other, often resulting in large discounts to games.

This competition does not always results in the absolute cheapest price however. When using CDKeyPrices to compare a random selection of the latest games, I was surprised to see Kinguin sometimes 4th or 5th on the list. Kinguin is taking a commissions from other seller’s sales, and this means that some other stores are prepared to sell cheaper than those sellers on Kinguin.

What the marketplace also allows is the selling of DLC codes, Season Passes, gold, coins and other such items. We personally don’t track the prices for products such as these, usually because they are never any cheaper than buying from Steam or Origin directly. This appeared to be the case in a lot of the items I reviewed on Kinguin. PS4 Keys as well as Xbox One Download Codes are also available which is helpful considering buying console cd keys is also getting pretty popular and still very expensive on the official stores. There are not as many sellers of Xbox One codes as there are Steam CD Keys, probably because of their higher price and difficulty in sourcing them in larger quantities.

Another cool feature is the Kinguin Buyer Protection. If you are not comfortable in buying from the marketplace or third party seller, you can elect to make the purchase with a type of warranty. What this means is that in the event the key goes bad or invalid and the seller disappears, Kinguin will replace the key for you. Think of it like taking out an insurance policy on your order. You of course can choose not to do this and instead browse the reputation of the sellers before settling on who you are comfortable with. I personally would avoid sellers with zero or little reputation, even if they are the cheapest. It is safe to purchase from reputable marketplace sellers without the Kinguin protection.

Kinguin Protection really showed its value during the Sniper Elite 3 CD Key debacle where Rebellion revoked a bunch of keys from users steam account. Kinguin acted in an extremely professional manner and refunded all its customers orders for those affected. Top shelf!

One cool feature of Kinguin, like G2A, is its support options. Even though its marketplace is very large, Kinguin takes care of all the support for the sellers. Further, the marketplace sellers are actually uploading the stock to Kinguin before it’s sold, meaning once you make your purchase the code is made available to you immediately. This means the sellers can concentrate on stock levels, quality and price, rather than handling customer support which can be costly and time consuming.

In terms of support, Kinguin has you covered 24/7, with both email and live chat. A variety of languages is covered meaning if you have any issue with a third party seller you will be easily taken care of. Kinguins Twitter account has a massive 189K followers and its Facebook a galactic 630,000 likes. Both forms of its social media are very active, with great interaction from staff and customers alike.

The site an informative and popular blog (something I personally have on my RSS reader!) which the site uses as a platform to announce giveaways (of which there are many), major news and gaming related content. Vouchers, coupons and cd keys are sometimes posted. It's definitely something worth adding to your daily reading habits!

Trustpilot gives a healthy score of 8.8/10. To be honest I was a little surprised by this (thought it would be a bit higher) but I do recall early on that Kinguin did not have as big of an emphasis on support as it does now. A quick glance does show either 10/10 or 1 star reviews. Those one star reviews are usually related to order mix-ups or some other issue which should be easily fixed. In fact, Kinguin support appears to be following up with a lot of customers directly on Trustpilot.

Payment Options

All the majors are covered with credit card, Paypal, Skrill, Paysafe and UKash offered. The site also accept bitcoins through the awesome Bitpay gateway.

Kinguin allows dozens of currencies, and when you select your desired currency it even auto adds the applicable taxes for your country. I guess there is nothing stopping you from selecting a currency with a lower tax rate? We are thrifty gamers after all! I conducted some tests to make sure that the different currencies all converted ok, with no evidence to suggest that they are making profit off of currency conversions.

Final Thoughts & Coupons

Well, whats not to say about Kinguin. The site basically appeared out of nowhere and became the biggest on the planet. I've made a lot of purchases from Kinguin over the years and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. It's easy, it's 100% trustworthy and it just works. They may not be the cheapest, and I usually avoid the third party sellers (for no particular reason), but if you haven't already heard or used the store before, now is the time to become a Kinguin fanboi. That concludes our Kinguin review...and as always, any problems please let us know. Would love to hear your own feedback and experience with Kinguin in the comments below. For an extra 3% off your next order, the Kinguin guys were nice enough to provide us with a voucher, simply use "cdkeyprices" on checkout.

Gamers Outlet Review

Gamers Outlet Review

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]amers Outlet is a relatively new addition to CDKeyPrices. When the site applied to be listed on our site, I went about conducting a thorough Gamers Outlet review to see if it’s something our users would be interested in. As I’ve outlined previously, CDKeyPrices receives a lot of requests for listing from “fly-by-night” stores and I am not particularly comfortable with referring our users to websites I am not 100% certain of. There are many online cd key stores that are by no means legit or trustworthy, something I can confidently say is not the case with Gamers Outlet. With that said, I knew Gamers Outlet had been around for over a year and as such went about looking at its details. I have seen the website develop over the past 12 months and seen the progress its owners have made in regards to the sites look, feel and product offerings.

On arrival, what’s immediately apparent to me is the professional and simple looking website. A lot of websites remain with the default themes of OpenCart or Magento, something which frustrates me a lot. Gamers Outlet has implemented their own theme/skin onto the cart, giving it its own unique flavor. Immediately this tells me the owners are serious about creating a brand.

Adding a product to cart and go all the way through the checkout is a pleasant experience. For those who know exactly what product they want to buy when arriving at the website will be happy with the large slider front and center. For those just looking to browser, the store is helpfully broken up into the relevant categories on the top menu.

Products & Pricing

Gamers Outlet could be categorized as a smaller niche site. Its products are listed on the front page, for ease of access. Whilst this does slow down the loading of the site somewhat, overall the site is pretty fast, allowing for a positive user experience from the outset. Their product range is not massive, concentrating mostly on the latest games and the best sellers from previous years. The prices can be described as extremely competitive, with their latest offerings sitting at positions 1, 2 or 3 on CDKeyPrices. As an example BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Like some other cd key stores, Gamers Outlet has begun to offer Xbox One Download Codes and PSN & Playstation 4 Keys. Whilst it only offers a few games, mostly sticking to Xbox Live and PSN subscriptions, it’s something to keep an eye on to see if they expand their offerings in this category. Amazon for example has a massive collection of Xbox One game codes, so the products do exist!

I noticed a licensed dealer number of 558156162 in the footer of the website and went about investigating this a little further. After getting some further information from the owner I found out it is the registered business details for the government authority in Israel.

I then moved on to doing a bit of Googling to see what I could come up with, if anything. Our longtime friend, TrustPilot, has a listing for Gamers Outlet, so I began to go through the reviews. The overall grade is 9.5, which is fantastic, with some complaints regarding the delivery time of purchased products. Like some other stores, Gamers Outlet unfortunately does not have a full automatic delivery system. When paying with a verified Paypal account your key will be emailed automatically. If you are paying with another method such asSkrill, Paysafecard etc, it will need to be manually processed. This is something to keep in mind.

[tie_full_img]Gamers Outlet Review[/tie_full_img]

Gamers Outlet has an active Twitter and Facebook account. The content is mostly related to news and information about upcoming games, with some people electing to raise support queries via these mediums. The site is also constantly running giveaways, and some lucky users have even picked up unclaimed keys from following their Twitter and Facebook accounts. Free stuff is always welcomed! Gamers Outlet does not have any type of news feed or blog, electing to concentrate solely on providing a no frills store.

A test of their support systems saw me receive an email reply in about 20 minutes. It must be noted of course that this was during business hours and I would suspect that there is not 24/7 coverage, something I need to confirm. Coupled with the websites Twitter and Facebook account, there is multiple avenue to raising support queries with the website.

A metric I use to gauge whether or not a user from CDKeyPrices trusts the store I am referring them to is the conversion rate. With that said, Gamers Outlet converts at an above average rate for the stores we track. With competitive pricing and high levels of stock it makes the decision a lot easier if the user has a positive first impression.

Payment Options

Gamers Outlet has all the major payment methods one would need. It may not provide as many offering as some of the other bigger sites, but for those who accounts with the major players you will be well taken care of here.ods of: Paypal and credit card. The site makes a guarantee regarding full refunds if something goes wrong with your key. This is nice to know, but it is something I would expect from all the stores that CDKeyPrices track. I am told that the store is looking to expand its payment offerings in the future.

Final Thoughts & Vouchers/Coupons

If you are looking to pick up the latest game at a very competitive price, you can find stores worse than Gamers Outlet. The site has developed a solid reputation on providing the latest releases in time for you to preload. You can only pay with Paypal or Credit Card, which is a negative, however for those who use Paypal exclusively, it will make your checkout and delivery a lot quicker.

UnlimitedGameStore Review

UnlimitedGameStore Review & Coupons!

UnlimitedGameStore Review

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t’s fortunate that I decided to conduct this UnlimitedGameStore review when I did, because it’s recently undergone a major transformation. The look of the site has changed dramatically, for the better. Further enhancements, such as more payment options and customer support has propelled the store to be one of the best out there. A new management team is also claimed to be in place with a stronger focus on customer support.

Upon visiting the domain, we are greeted with a professional and polished looking website. The latest games are on the front, meaning you can get to the most popular and recently released stuff quickly. The sites loads a little slow, as per our Pingdom test. At over 7mb and approximately 16 seconds to loads from a location in the US, it’s bordering on unacceptable. I would hate to think what the speeds are for people in more remote locations.

[button color="green" size="big" link="https://www.unlimitedgamestore.com?a_aid=cdkeyprices" icon="" target="true"]Use Voucher Code "CDKeyPrices"[/button]

The sites business information lists its office as Room 1801, 18F, Tower 5, 33 Canton Road, Hong Kong. Whether or not this is a virtual office or not is something I could not confirm, however I have asked the owner for some clarification. At any rate, websites that are officially registered as a business or a company are a major positive. In my opinion, it provides some clarity and comfort around the sites operations. We are also giving details such as the Company Incorporation Number (2123730) and the Company Registration Number ( 63613525).

Products & Pricing

Its product catalogue is nowhere near the size of Kinguin or G2A, but Unlimited Game Store is not chasing that market. The cd key store concentrates on high stock levels of the faster moving products, such as Fallout 4 CD Keys and Grand Theft Auto 5 CD Keys. Using this model it can move high amounts of these products at razor thin margins, ultimately resulting in lower prices for you, the consumer. Evidence of this is the store constantly occupying the top or cheapest positions of the latest games on CDKeyPrices. Overall, there is still a very healthy amount of games on store, however I struggled to load the All Games link due to the sheer size of the images. I am also told they are looking to expand to older, but still popular games.

Reputation

The next important part of the UnlimitedGameStore review was surveying what was also out there on the net. There is a TrustPilot listing for the website, which paints a distorted picture. TrustPilot gives a grade of 7.7, which is definitely above average. I am mindful of the significant changes that the business and website have undergone over the past few months and wonder if this grade is going to improve. A look over the past few weeks of reviews is extremely positive so I suspect it will continue to slowly revise upwards.

Most of the feedback reviews relate to the late delivery of keys, for reasons I made comment on in the Gamers Outlet Review. I suspect these complaints would mostly relate to items that are out of stock. As someone who has been in the industry a while, older games can occasions can be difficult to source. It is still up to the store to source them in a timely fashion of course.

[tie_full_img]Unlimited Game Store Review[/tie_full_img]

On the bright side, UnlimitedGameStore.com has an active Twitter and Facebook account, covering news about upcoming games, funny threads and videos. There also seems to be a bit of interaction with customers on those platforms which is welcomed. Reddit had a lot of threads in the same vein as TrustPilot so I made the decision to test its support service myself. I sent an email inquiring about the stock levels for Fallout 4 and how long delivery would take. I received an email some 15 minutes later confirming it was good to go and encouraging me to purchase.

Payment Options

As part of its overhaul, Unlimited Game Store made the very important decision to implement more payment methods for its customers. This is great for people all over the world because as popular as Paypal is, it's still not available in a lot of countries.

These options include;
[tie_list type="thumbup"]

  • PayPal
  • Credit Card
  • Sofort Banking
  • iDeal
  • Giropay

  • ING Home'Pay

Final Thoughts & Vouchers/Coupons

We hope you found this UnlimitedGameStore review helpful! Overall, UnlimitedGameStore.com is a no frills store offering a wide variety of the latest games at extremely competitive prices. The store always seems to have stock for the latest games, and the auto delivery of keys in stock both to your email and your account is a massive plus. I have personally purchased from the website (I got a FIFA 16 CD Key) and had my key delivered, activated and downloading within 10 minutes. Overall an extremely good experience for me. As always, if you have any issues, please let us know, but I am confident in saying you will have a trouble free ride when using UnlimitedGameStore.com

Steam vs. Origin Vs. Uplay- which is better and why

Steam vs. Origin Vs. Uplay

Today we will take a sneak peek in what digital distribution platforms are and what are the popular ones in the market. We will be taking a concrete look at platforms for the PC video games like Steam, Origin and Uplay. Entering virtual circle is Valve’s Steam, Ubisoft’s Uplay and Electronic Art’s Origin.

Steam vs. Origin Vs. Uplay Comparison

Many people wonder as to which platform to choose and why. Basically it totally depends on the interest and personal taste of the player. But it is of no surprise that Steam is the actual leader in the number of services that are offered. It would be great to know that neither Origin nor Uplay offers single service or feature that is not available on Steam.Steam vs. Origin Vs. Uplay

For a lot of people, PC gaming experiences goes in hand with Steam. This is because it is both service and storefront and offers one stop store for purchasing games, managing and playing games and also building out friends list for chatting while enjoying your favourite game. In home streaming is the biggest feature of Steam as it lets the players play graphically intense games on the Windows tablets and PCs. It actually uses power of the main gaming rig to run the games and then it streams those games in a Netflix sort of fashion to the secondary PC.

On the other hand, Uplay is all gearing up for new updates and versions so that they can have more functionality and better gaming experience. The version 4.0 introduced better download manager, play while download feature, auto patching and Twitch integration.

More so, patch install and updates are now available on Steam and Origin. The users can also buy and start game downloads remotely using the Steam mobile application. However this trio of digital distribution platforms offer a range of social networking solutions like in game UI overlay which permits the users to add friends who also use the same service. They can even capture as well as upload screen shots, access web browser etc. Each of the platform offers the cloud storage space for backups so that in case the data is lost ob physical system, you have a backup. Then there is also the text chat feature available but just Steam offers the facility of voice chat.

Both Origin and Steam allow the users to install the games wherever they want. It is not needed that they be in main Steam or Origin directory. This was indeed a case with Origins first. But the new feature has been launched on Steam recently. It’s also great if you need some games for running on speedier drive like solid state. As for Uplay, you can easily change game installer location after the installation.

So if we were to decide one clear winner or which one to choose as far as features and benefits are concerned, then Steam is the clear leader till now. However they have been at the competition since a long time now. Origin and Uplay will still need to innovate a lot and think actually out of the box to be the winners in the arena that Steam has already built.

Let’s Dive Into What Uplay Is And What It Offers

Uplay

UPlay is the cross platform solution that is available in over 50 games and entertainment activities. It offers great rewards to the gamers. UPlay is in fact a digital right management, digital distribution, communications and multi player service by Ubisoft mainly introduced to offer similar experience to trophies or achievements provided by other gaming platforms.

In case you are a member of the UPlay site, you can easily enjoy what Ubisoft has to provide like complimentary in game content, gifts etc. UPlay also allows the players to readily connect with the others around and to even earn the rewards as per their achievements called as actions in the UPlay enabled games.

It is totally a great experience playing at UPlay with a range of games and activities lined up. As rightly said by Yves Guillemot, CEO Of Ubisoft that the more you play, the more free items you will be able to receive. So this adds up to the motivation of the players.Uplay

With UPlay, you can literally take your gaming experience to an entirely new level. The top benefits and features you enjoy with it include the following:

  • Avatar adjust feature
  • Improve your rankings and stats and go one level up
  • Get direct access to community stats and invite new friends
  • Check your rankings, compare with your friends and others

What more, the Uplay desktop client got released in 2012 which replaced the Game Launcher by Ubisoft. This desktop client actually connects the rewards and currency of Uplay and links the Ubi profile of the player across different platforms like mobile, PC, FB, consoles etc in a single app. In all, the client is just like Steam and Origin clients in which the user can buy and launch games from the app.

There have been a lot of happy customers of Uplay and they say that the experience they get is simply amazing. When they play the supported games, they get the opportunity to earn uPlay actions that are the achievements. These further come with some specific points that can later be spent or used in special in game store. The real currency does not play any part in it. Another important thing is that the currency is basically linked with uPlay account and so it’s the game agnostic. The balance left is your balance irrespective of you earned points playing Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell games or any other.

The best part to notice about Uplay is that it is easily available for Wii, iPhone, Xbox, PlayStation and Android devices. Some players say that when they were first promoted to make an account with UPlay, they were happy with bonus content provided to them. So with so many features, games and benefits, the hard core players always prefer this platform and refer it to others around.

So what are you waiting for? Try playing with Uplay and you will be more than happy with the gaming experience, bonus, rewards, achievements and much more.

We Now Track Xbox One Prices

I did actually track Xbox One Codes in the past, but stopped as only one or two stores were listing them. I've noticed a few more stores are now stocking them, and they seem pretty popular, so I thought I would bring it back!

You can access Xbox One Stuff here;

Xbox One Codes

I'm having some problems with the Amazon feed so I can't get theirs in there for the time being

CDKeyPrices is generally moving away from price comparisons of region locked stuff (unless its very popular) which is the reason I am not putting up Playstation 4 codes at this time.

As always, any suggestions, please get in contact!

Evolve CD Key Giveaway

Ubisoft Fight The Power

Don’t be fooled. Ubisoft recent action against Far Cry 4 CD Keys is nothing but a money grab and frustration at the fact its customers are sourcing their games from regions which are cheaper than their own.

As a long time crusader against region pricing and actively importing my stuff from other regions (something that publishers, companies etc like to called "unauthorized" and "grey") I can be confident in the fact I know I am doing nothing wrong. Why? The key's activated fine and Ubisoft made no claim that they fraudulently purchased.

G2A are a legitimate, registered, tax paying business. They source keys from cheap regions and sell to you for profit. Just because you don't pay Ubisoft criminal prices, doesn't mean you yourself are a criminal.

Do what I am going to do and take the matter to your governments Office of Fair Trading.

Disgusting!
