Without a doubt, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground is the best multiplayer battle royale game out there! The game was inspired by the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale (if you haven’t seen it you’ve got to check it out - what those poor school kids have to do to each other is harrowing – what a film)! To put it simply, it’s a no holds barred, last man standing match where anything goes.
You and 99 other players start the game in a cargo plane and have to parachute down to the island below. As soon as you land it’s a scramble to scavenge for any weaponry and equipment that you may aid you in your quest to wipe out all of those around you. An invisible forcefield shrinks the battlefield over time, heightening the intensity and encouraging you to constantly be on the move – but will your movements be aggressive or tactical?
One of the great features of Battleground is that every small decision you make has (sometimes severe) consequences. Straight from the off, you need to decide when you jump from the plane. Go early and get a head start on gathering weapons and supplies but will you leave yourself too far from the middle of the shrinking map? Jump late and give yourself some distance from other players and time to gather supplies but will the other’s head start come back to haunt you? Or jump mid-way with the majority of the others and find yourself in the middle of a scrap straight away! Decisions, decisions!
Juggling the continually shrinking battle arena, the numerous other players trying to kill you at every opportunity, oh and the odd airstrike, is sure to keep you on your toes. Even though each battle starts the same way, it’s safe to safe no two ever finish the same! Battleground is sure to keep you entertained for hours.
