I also love the level design in Crysis 3, it really captures the apocalyptic overgrown nature-urban feel.That being said, Crysis 3 Remastered is so buggy I couldn't finish it. The first two thirds of the game were fine, but I got to a level where it was like I was just walking through string. Multicolored lines where assets were being stretched in thousands of directions. I couldn't see the enemies shooting at me, and after trying to close and restart the game, I then got stuck at the Crysis 3 loading screen for 2 days. Anything I tried didn't help, close and reopening the game, restarting the console, moving the game to internal ssd from an external usb drive.Eventually, I managed to find a Reddit post about the same issue, where he fixed the game by moving the game to internal storage. I tied this too by moving games around to free up space, and the game started working again for me too. I then played for a bit stopped, and again got stuck at the loading screen for a day until it magically worked again, where I completed the rest of the game, got to the final boss, defeated the final boss and again it crashed.I searched online and the internet is plagued with "crysis 3 crashes after killing the final boss" results. So I finished the game, the final third crashed and glitched like crazy (and besides that the level design really deteriorates, it's just openworld battles with no real purpose - it's not fun even without the crashing), and the bow is essentially useless in the final third. And an impossible to beat final boss.I really hope they come back to fix the game, but I don't have hope, I'm not the only person that got screwed over by this bug, the final boss crashing has existed since the original Crysis 3 apparently (although I didn't experience it back then). WIth fan-made bug fixes and patches to resolve the crashing because Crytek wouldn't. As this is a ps5 we can't even install fanmade patches.Crytek need to either fix all of these bugs, but they won't.

However, with the third entry throwing in a bow and seemingly tweaking how long you can maintain stealth just a little to make it more accommodating to silent killer types? Count me as being on board. Right out of the gate the flow simply felt more in tune with my preferred style of play, and I instantly went from appreciating the game’s merit to actively enjoying it. Now, having talked to fans of the series as a whole, the common comment on this third entry is that it’s a shorter overall campaign than its predecessors, so that’s something to take into consideration if you’re buying ala carte versus the package deal of the Crysis Remastered Trilogy. With its feel and flow being more closely aligned with the likes of the Far Cry series overall I really did have a blast with this third chapter. Speaking of pickups, some swapped weapons disappear into the ether. I have also noticed a glitch in places and at times where the face buttons, the entire right side of the controller, can be rendered unusable.Overall, it's a faithful new rendition of a classic epic series that deserves it's role in the Switch library. I was just hoping (with the trilogy as a whole), the devs would have gone the Halo 2 remaster route and had overhauled some graphical highlights from the game. For instance, the cutscene where Prophet is jumping from building to building and eventually landing superhero style on an abandoned apartment building complaining why CELL won't "stay out of his damn way" could have been remastered when it showed Prophet utilizing the Nanosuit's extreme agility, parkouring these buildings and finalizing in a cool superhero external shot of him landing. Bigger squads of enemies with more options to attack or subvert them, revamped human AI so that CELL Mercs fight more like the impressive North Koreans from the first installment that used advanced squad tactics. Touches such as these would have added great cinematic and gameplay value to a franchise trying to breathe new life into it. You're playing a tried and true forever classic masterpiece of video game and FPS history in this trilogy on fairly old Switch hardware in it's entirety (missing VTOL mission from Crisis 1 remastered, I'm talking about). Despite it's shortcomings, appreciate it.

Whether or not this overall Crysis Remastered Trilogy will usher in a new lease of life for the dormant franchise remains to be seen. But at least we are safe in the knowledge that it gave itself the best future possible with this third entry in the series being the finest yet.

Crysis 3 Remastered stealths its way onto Switch in a fantastic port that delivers super solid gameplay and very little in the way of noticeable technical issues. However, with its mutliplayer aspects completely excised, this is now a fairly slim package that ends up being the hardest to recommend of the three Crysis titles available on Nintendo's console, especially if you're considering picking it up as a standalone title. What's here is still top-notch stuff, it's just a little too short-lived.

A compact and distinctly linear shooter, though Crysis 3 Remastered has been fashioned into a spectacular looking effort that stands proudly alongside other recent blasters from a technical standpoint, its overly linear trappings will likely disappoint those who appreciate the more open world approaches that the previous two Crysis games employed. All the same, fans of more prescribed genre efforts will still find a lot to like here nonetheless.
