Windows 7 Professional is an edition of the Windows 7 operating system that was designed for business and professional users. A step up from Home Premium, it included all the features of that edition and added capabilities suited for a business environment. These features included the ability to join a Windows Server domain, support for up to 192 GB of RAM, location-aware printing, and Remote Desktop host.
It also provided an Encrypting File System for securing sensitive data and the ability to back up to a network location. Windows 7 Professional was praised for its stability, performance improvements, and the inclusion of Windows XP Mode, which allowed users to run applications compatible with Windows XP within Windows 7.
