Snakebird

Know somebody who might be like this game?

Summary

What is the longest possible length a bird can be? Obviously a question only all the fruit in the world can answer! But where could all this fruit be hiding? Follow Redbird, Greenbird and Bluebird on a quest for an amount of fruit beyond any birds wildest dreams.

Snakebird is a very simple but deceptively challenging puzzle game about assuming the right shapes for the task at hand, be it pushing, lifting, teleporting or just defying the laws of physics.

Snakebird is not a good game. The idea of connecting the Nokia snake with gravity seems very interesting.Unfortunately, the design ofSnakebird is not a good game. The idea of connecting the Nokia snake with gravity seems very interesting.Unfortunately, the design of this game doesn't explore the idea in a fulfilling way. Most puzzles in this game are more like arbitrary challenges than like exploration of ideas. The game is full of red herrings which makes the game much more difficult in a non-meaningful way.The graphics should emphasize the grid but they don't so they worked around this problem by letting you enable the grid overlay in the settings which is a joke. The graphical size of level exit is almost 3x3 but the gameplay size is only 1x1. In certain places, it's very hard to distinguish foreground from background. The stuff that you can click on to get an achievement is very meaningless content. You can move the snake using awsd, down/left/right arrows also work, but up arrow does not.You can't fullscreen the game on a secondary monitor on Windows.

What happens when you combine the dynamics of the classic Snake computer game with gravity? You get Snakebird. The difficulty of this puzzlerWhat happens when you combine the dynamics of the classic Snake computer game with gravity? You get Snakebird. The difficulty of this puzzler ramps up fast, but this is because each level presents new ideas. You can't play Snakebird on autopilot.Although there are a couple difficulty spikes, the difficulty itself comes less from complexity and more from the efficient arrangement of a tiny handful of elements. Levels can contain fruit, movable blocks, pairs of portals, or some combination of these, but never all at once, and usually in a very limited space. Some user reviews dunk on this game. They did not beat Snakebird, and thus their opinions are invalid. Also, the price is far lower than expected for a game of such high quality. A must-play for any puzzle gamer.

The puzzles are brutally difficult and challenging. It's the kind of game you can't stop thinking about after you stop playing. I'll get frustrated, but you'll soon be back for more. One of the best puzzle games ever.Hint: Think alot about the Snakebirds shape and direction.

These problems ruined the gaming experience so deeply that it is hard for me to express an opinion about gameplay.
