Parkasaurus can get tiresome, especially when playing this Switch port. It won’t grab hybrid players who aren’t already genre fans. But an instructive campaign mode, combined with a sandbox mode, means plenty of content is here, ultimately making for a decent (though certainly not great) game.

There's two incredibly deep tech trees, but to this point the campaign missions have been short enough that I haven't had to go too deep. A truly wonderful game that reminds me of how games should be. Fun. If you enjoy Zoo Tycoon, Roller Coaster Tycoon or Jurassic World Evolution then you are going to LOVE this game and the nostalgia it brings. And to top it off, it’s under $30 with more content being added! A wonderful pick up for my Dino fanatics!

You can build to your heart’s content, devote hours upon hours to building a great theme park, and, best of all, you can make your dinosaurs wear hats. There may be a few better management sims on the Switch, but Parkasaurus makes a solid argument for being counted among them.

Parkasaurus satiated my dinosaur tycoon demands. For me, a dabbler in the management game arts, I found an enjoyable park designer where I had to balance finances and set up the coolest Jurassic Park-looking place I could muster. For my 4-year-old, he had a sandbox where he could screw around and set up whatever dream-like dinosaur scenarios he wanted to. We were able to do all this with a charming-as-heck visual aesthetic and a complex but workable user interface. Life finds a way.

It’s one of those tycoon games I’d play often, as it really is a great way to occupy one’s time and allow one to become a creative capitalist.

O yes i forgot that the only thing that I dont like of the game is the system of the water, because in my actual park one of the dinosaurs cant go from the place of the water because it is to deep (I think that is the reason)

20 years ago Parkasaurus would have been a huge success but compared to contemporary games by Frontier (Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster), it looks like, well, a dinosaur. Actually, even RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999!) was deeper, more complex and better designed than Parkasaurus.

Most of the official reviews seem state vague buzzwords to make it seem as if they have played the game. I dont think any of them have even touched the game, let alone watched any gameplay. Gamestar states, and i quote, "Shallow management game with cuddly graphics and plenty of variety, but lacks challenging tasks." Reading this shows that whoever has written the review has no idea what they are talking about. Ive played many management games throughout my life, and this game has good amount of daily tasks and moment to moment actions you need to take care of. Not only do you need to make sure your dinosaur has food, privacy, and a habitat that is suitable, you also need to think about where your guests are and how your paths are layed out for future science showcases and the guests energy while walking around the park. They also state that there isnt much difficulty to the game, which i heavily disagree with. Unless you have only played the first level, the game does have varying difficulties not only on each individual stage, but each scenario also has extra steps that get more difficult after completing the main task. This game is great, challenging, and rewarding.

Parkasaurus is a nice little distraction for people who like park simulators, but way too easy and simple to entertain for more than a few hours. Also, there‘s a lot of technical hiccups and repetition which keep the game from being better than it is.

Parkasaurus is a pretty great park sim that offers players a fun and unique experience. While it may not be a game everyone can play for hours on end, the level of creativity it offer players along with its extensive gameplay mechanics and gorgeous cartoony art-style is enough to keep anyone entertained for a few hours. But for park sim enthusiasts, Parkasaurus is a must play.

Over the many hours that I played Parkasaurus, I have to say that I did feel very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the simple yet goofy style picking out appropriate hats for all my dinosaurs. Going into this as a tycoon game you know exactly what is included but if you want an all singing all dancing experience then this game may fall a little short of your expectations. Hopefully in the future with more updates and steam workshop engagement there might be more to offer in the future and a reason to come back for more.
