Then after "Last Dance"As a kid I used to love basketball and Michael Jordan, then for like 20 years I didn't give a damn about this sport. Then after "Last Dance" and "Winning Time" my interest returns. I grabbed NBA 2k22 and I had awesome time. I did not know most of the modern players but I could play as a legends from the old times. MyLeague is fantastic, but it was the MyTeam that really hooked me. I used to collect player cards so it was nostalgic ride for me. I tried MyCareer but it's rubbish.I'm not playing pvp and I do not spend any additional money. Monetization is irritating but the fantastic gameplay is more than enough to keep me hooked.

While downloading the rest, I was able to play the tutorial and while playing it I really enjoyed it. Then I started playing actual matches where if I try to defend it's too hard, they pass the ball really fast, too fast for me to catch up and see that I actually need to change the players and my team was never defending anything.

Can't play modes like mycareer or myteam without internet. Also, playing mycareer seems laggy, frame rate drops and it is impossible to defend.

They just release it for the extra cash. They have zero support, the online park, rec center, pro am, my teams vs, and all online events are run by cheaters and mods. It’s disgusting how bad it is and they just allow it. No anti cheat for another year in a row. No support. No good experience. If anyone is rating the pc version above 0 they are cheating or only playing solo nba or solo my teams.
NBA 2K22 is an actual upgrade in relation to the previous version. The game is more realistic, immersive, and full of quality of life upgrades, boasting several different modes to play and a beefy story in the Career mode, all making it a decent addition for anyone who needs a sports game with plenty to do.

But once the next edition comes out, they start to bleed this one to death. After 1 year, they coerce you to stop playing this one, while still selling it and not fixing bugs. After 2 years, they turn off the servers, RIP.

Feels like their mobile games where it’s all about my team but now with the added limit of your cards expire and you now need contract cards to extend them. Most modes don’t work offline which is the point of the switch. Play anywhere. Does it seem like EA is a failing company at this point? Each year their games give you less reason to buy. NBA 2015 or really any earlier EA NBA game is better than this game. For playability probably the worst since SNES

The priority is clearly focused on the my team and my player game modes where players can be squeezed to shell out more money on top of the 70 bucks they payed for the game already. On top of this lackluster gameplay "improvements" which seems to be fixing something broken from the last game, (such as nearly every shot taken at the end of the clock without a timing bar going in) and then breaking something that was fine in the last game. In this editions case the most apparent is an offensive and defensive player bumping into each other usually at mid court and stumbling back with the same animation which results in a foul call that is seemingly randomly attributed to either player.Or problems just haven't been fixed at all, like the coaches challenge which has been totally broken and glitchy since its inception. A game such as NBA 2k that relies almost entirely on animations does not lend itself to a challenge system when there are specific foul animations in the game. And also raises questions of fouls being intentionally called incorrectly to warrant challenging. The menu system is also abhorrently glitchy and has been for the last few titles. The play now menu is riddled with glitches that vary from a black screen where nothing other than the lineups are visible and changing jerseys is impossible, to the randomise function being sporadically unavailable.Without a true rival to 2k studios on the NBA front I don't think there's any end in sight to the greedy yearly installments which are essentially new coats of paint with neglegable additions and "improvements" to the title from the year before.
2K Games and Visual Concepts can finally breathe : NBA 2K22 is the episode of reconciliation. With a Career mode which has been enriched and is gradually transformed into a Second Life game with sport (be careful with off-topic anyway), the MyTeam mode which includes the Seasons system and gameplay which tends even more towards simulation, NBA 2K22 is clearly a really good game.
Low on innovation, big on fun… and slimy microtransactions. Despite the shameless 7money grab of certain modes, there’s lots for basketball fans to love.
NBA 2K22 definitely hasn't earned a foul of any type, but may not quite win a championship either. Let's say that NBA 2K22 won its conference title and might have made it to the finals, but not an NBA Championship this year. There's always something else to improve before championship status can be awarded. NBA 2K22 is much improved over the NBA 2K21 edition. As with most all yearly serial sports franchise computer games developing a completely new game engine takes a lot of work and time, work that probably couldn't be completed with the years. When taking into consideration the disappointments involving the 2021 edition, Vision Concepts and 2K Sports really did a good job with the 2022 game. It rolled around the rim and dropped in for two. Here's hoping that future editions can sink the three-pointer.
NBA 2K22 is another good entry in the fantastic NBA 2K series. Its reworked shooting mechanics, impressive visuals on Switch, and loads of NBA content will keep any basketball fan’s attention for hours on end. While many modes received no noticeable additions, and there’s a heavy desire for spending money on microtransactions, NBA 2K22 is still a must-play for Switch basketball fans.
NBA 2K22 is probably best entry that the series has seen in many years. On the court everything flows exactly as it should with many improvements from last year. Unfortunately, microtransactions are still rampant everywhere in the game, and to be able to compete online with your created character or in MyTeam you're almost forced to spend money if you actually want to be competitive. If you have skipped the series in the last year or two, it may be time to take a look now. It is not best of all time, but it has taken a very big step in the right by listening suggestions from its players.
The current-gen version of NBA 2K22 is a disappointing mess of much of the samewe've seen the last few years, with the exception of a few very welcome upgrades to the gameplay. Still it is necessary to mention that asking for a full price with the lackluster support in all other segments is atrocious and sadly probably not worth your time if you played 2K21. If you are a newcomer though, gameplay changes are pretty good, and it still is the best basketball game you can afford right now.
We’re at that point with sports games where all the focus goes into the new consoles and every year out is one step closer to ‘legacy’ editions. 2K22 isn’t there yet, but it’s not far off. If you want to play basketball, it’s still solid this year, at the very least. If you want to check out the open-world online cruise ship that still thirsts for your money, hop on board.
NBA 2K22 becomes king of the court for another year in a row, raising its gameplay and playable mechanics to the Olympus of basketball. However, he is severely hampered by his decisions in other game modes and his constant monetization.
NBA 2K22 improves several gameplay mechanics like on ball defense, shot contest, dunks and block, alongside AI defense. Despite these improvements, there are still several historic technical issues, server problems on MyTeam, huge loading times, and there is the sense that all of the game modes push users to buy VCs to be competitive.
NBA 2K22 is a surprisingly solid perennial release, refining and improving upon troublesome and dull mechanics with a generally more fun, accessible court experience. While its RPG ambitions are admirable, its quest system pales in comparison to the next-gen version. Overall, though, this current-gen version stands firmly on its own, offering a solid suite of modes and sweet basketball simulation.

But you can bet that Take-Two didn't cut any costs in Brand Placement, as fake Jake "from State Farm" is in the game.Game play is near excellent. Graphics are fairly impressive. But could be better.MicroTransactions, are absolutely egregious. But that's all that matters right? For all you cancerous gambling morons are crushing the gaming industry and its games
NBA 2K22 improves gameplay and makes it more challenging when attacking, but makes defending more fun and fair. The additions in MyCareer mode are surprising at first, but then become a bit of a drag.
I have to say that I was ENTIRELY wrong about this game. I have played NBA2K every year since 2K10 and this is the best 2K since 2K16 and yesI have to say that I was ENTIRELY wrong about this game. I have played NBA2K every year since 2K10 and this is the best 2K since 2K16 and yes I truly mean that. Buttons are responsive, teammate AI is the best in years, shooting feels great as always, the defense is a true highlight with rewarding good reaction timing on switching which direction you're trying to stop the drive. I must say that My Career is the true star of the show, the devs leave no doubt that this is YOUR story and you can shape it any way you want to. Wanna be a fashion icon? You can do that. Music idol? You can do that. Want to cause absolute chaos in the organization? Just ask for a trade. Wanna play with other NBA players in a pickup game? You get those offers early on! Now I know what you're thinking.. where are the negatives? There are definitely a few so lets make a new paragraph for this. The defense of the AI is SUFFOCATING, non talented PGs were locking me up and able to recover WAY to quickly to my dribble moves so i suggest playing on Pro this year as games are still very competive and your teammates will also play better offensively and defensively. Teammate AI is still an issue man, like why? Why if I play on any difficulty above Pro are my teammates literally clueless and leaving people WIDE open? FIX THIS NOW. The City has MAJOR framerate problems and im playing on a PS5! Why 2K struggles to do what other devs do easily which is give a stable 60FPS is beyond me but thankfully The City in general is much more interesting and immersive this year.My score is a 8.5/10There is a lot too improve but THIS is what we have wanted for years and now all they gotta do is tweak the AI a bit and you've got a sim to rival MLB The Show. Great work 2K but KEEP listening and improving, dont go back to being the other side of the coin with Madden!
I don’t want to have to work just to enjoy a game of basketball. I just...want to enjoy a game of basketball. In 2K22 the only place I can do that in peace is the meaningless collection of one-off “play now” modes.
NBA 2K22 exceeds what was achieved in the previous year, and although it does not represent a radical change for the franchise, it has everything necessary to satisfy NBA fans. For better and for worse, the game has everything players love about NBA 2K, but also everything they hate.
Ive owned the game for 3 weeks and its worked for 1 week. I only play myteam and it is littered with error codes. Sent a request to 2k supportIve owned the game for 3 weeks and its worked for 1 week. I only play myteam and it is littered with error codes. Sent a request to 2k support which is now 12 days and no reply. When the game does work its a game of jump shots as the sprint button barely makes a difference. A very very poor effort for a new release
NBA 2K22 Switch simply doesn’t cut it. It tries to pack too much into too little, and ends up with modes that don’t work, difficult to embrace graphics, endless load times, poor shot meter dynamics, and impossible on-ball defense. An impossible start to a title not likely to get patched to playability.
As solid as it’s ever been on the court, NBA 2K22 is still an astonishingly good sports game, but its continued reliance on cynical microtransactions in MyCareer and MyTeam leave a sour taste.
NBA 2K22 is still on the right track just like its predecessor once did. The gameplay has been polished even further, especially the defense, which has been corrected in several areas providing hence a good balance. Also, there has been a full remodeling of The Neighborhood. The game shines brightly by its own right and manages to squeeze out every last bit of the new consoles, which is reflected in its magnificent visuals.
NBA 2K22 is good, undoubtedly that is undeniable. On current-gen, the game is fine and broadly follows what the next-gen version offers, minus the power and graphics quality. The latter offers challenging gameplay for novices but so much more balanced for purists. Finally, only VCs, untimely loading times (again) and a technical quality that is not always irreproachable in certain areas (facial expressions) to cast a little shadow on this new component, which cannot end elsewhere but at home if you like basketball... No revolution this year, though.
Instead of walking into the arena and making a grand statement, NBA 2K22 just plays decent basketball. You'll see a few highlight clips, but none that make you want to keep watching in awe. Still, NBA 2K22 is an improvement over last year, even if it's disappointing that it's not making more significant moves. Hopefully, next year we see more shakeups to the lineup to make the game a little more exciting and feel like Visual Concepts is gunning for that championship title.
NBA 2K22 continues to assert the series' reputation as one of the best sports sims in the business. It's an incredibly enjoyable game to play, even if the options surrounding the on-court action continue to be maddeningly inconsistent.
If you’re coming to NBA 2K22 to play some basketball, it’s a tremendous game on Switch. The shooting and dribbling are both reworked in positive ways and games are more realistic and approachable than ever. Outside of regular seasons, though, the modes you play that basketball in are trending downward in quality. Unless you’re ready to live your life one pack of virtual cards at a time, there isn’t much of value in MyCareer, MyGM, or MyLeague. Here’s hoping NBA 2K23 takes the refined gameplay and brings about more exciting variation in the modes.
NBA 2K22 brings major improvements to its gameplay, making it more balanced and suitable for all types of players, while also offering us a next-gen graphic rendering at the edge of photorealism. The picture is completed by the usual overwhelming number of modes, among which the further improved MyCareer is the absolute king.
Thanks to an impeccable production, NBA 2K22 feels more immersive and realistic than ever. Its gameplay is slower and more true to the game of basketball. Even though the RPG features of My Career are pretty bad, its content is still extremely rich. It all makes for the best NBA 2K in years.
NBA 2K22 is the franchise’s best entry in years, offering well-balanced changes on the court and a bold, yet welcome, revamp of MyCareer and The City hub. Microtransactions still frustrate at times, but they’re not as aggressive or tasteless as they’ve been in the past. For the first time in a while, it feels like the NBA 2K dev team is hungry, and they’ve cooked up a real championship contender this year.

As a big basketball fan and avid player of sports games, it’s hard not to have a love and hate relationship with the NBA 2K series, and NBA 2K22 is no exception. The basketball gameplay itself is as good as it’s ever been, and it genuinely feels satisfying to move the ball around, shoot, and play defense. However, modes like MyCareer are heavily bogged down by useless baggage, and a strong emphasis on microtransactions. Spotty servers mean that even the best parts of the game are often hard to enjoy. MyNBA is the only aspect of NBA 2K22 that provided a thoroughly enjoyable experience with practically nothing to complain about. NBA 2K22 gets in its own way, but there’s some genuinely great things there if you’re willing to endure it.

Players that were HORRIBLE from previous 2ks now look like Ray Allen. You could be blind in one eye and still make everything regardless if it was late or early. Its not fun anymore when even bad players will make every jump shot, especially when they have the likes of Curry on the team. I even heard they removed locker room all-star teamup!! I can only imagine how bad park/rec will be once everybody gets badges.Offline: The computer is insanely broken. They make every open jumpshot, even if on rookie difficulty. Every player, regardless of position, will lock you up on defense. If you're a guard and being guarded by a slow 7 foot center, that center will make you pick up your dribble in most cases. You have to pray to God to get animation anklebreakers just to get by the computerThis game is a departure from previous 2ks in a significant ways other than you still miss layups often and they don't call fouls still.

I hate it so hard, that I felt the necessity to do it.I have been buying the game for years, because despite having some flaws, I just love a basketball game. A week after getting this one, I wonder if I will play it again.I usually play the 'My Career' mode. For some time now, it has been clear that starting from level 60 (meaning not buying the premium version) was a challenge at the beginning. This year however it is directly unbearable. Every time I play I get incredibly angry. I have not played in two days and I still get angry writing the review. And don't get me started with the "quests". I don't even know hoy to review that part... I guess if you buy a basketball game for the fashion & music part, it must be great. That 1% of the buyers must love it. Actually I'm not even sure about that. In my case, it's more disgust that hate. Maybe a 70%-30% mix of both.Don't buy it, guys. If you want to get angry, watch the news or try to cancel your internet subscription. Don't pay for it.

NBA 2K22 is 2K Games and Visual Concepts’ best entry into the franchise in quite some time, with bountiful changes to certain gameplay mechanics that make this the most fluid basketball sim in years. Combining this with the new MyCareer story and how immersive The City has become, here’s hoping it’s a new era for the NBA 2K franchise, and it offers a much-needed bounceback for a series that many fans had started to give up on. We’re excited to see the evolution of NBA 2K throughout the year because what’s here is off to a more positive start than we’ve seen in a while.
NBA 2K22 is another fine entry in the franchise that continues the developer's habit of delivering satisfyingly solid ports of their basketball sims on Nintendo Switch. Yes, most of the modes don't try anything massively new — beyond MyCareer's revamped Neighbourhood setting — and the loading screens will have you pulling your hair out from time to time, but refined core gameplay and enough content to keep you playing until the end times make this one an easy recommendation for b-ball fans.

NBA 2K22 is less a video game and more an advertisement for the sport. The controls are obtuse and unresponsive, slowdown is constant, the story is bland, and it’s simply not fun to play.

Big improvements on defense make a difference, and the revamped shot meter is a step up from NBA 2K21. The truth for many years has been that what you get out of an NBA 2K games depends entirely on what you’re looking for. The gameplay remains rock-solid, and a wide variety of modes provide a huge variety of experiences. Many of the series’ biggest strengths remain virtually unchanged for years, though, while some new additions feel somewhat terrible. Let’s start with the biggest addition to NBA 2K22. The City is a sandbox that you create a character and work to the top. Playing basketball is a big part of this, with street ball, leagues, and a variety of challenges to help you develop your player into an NBA superstar. There’s just as much to do off the court, though. Grow your personal brand, build your style, get into races; this mode is filled with things to do. Too bad so much of it feels off. The city is definitely big, but getting around this huge place is never fun. Your character moves so slowly, and he gets caught on nearly everything. You can hop on a skateboard, or in time a bicycle, but none of these control all that well. Moving around the city doesn’t have to be the draw, but it shouldn’t feel this awkward when you spend so much time doing it. That’s before getting into the nightmare of branding here. Any sports game is going to feature brands. Things like Nike, Adidas, they’re part of the culture. So playing on the Mountain Dew court or seeing banners in the background are hardly deal-breakers. Do I really need to sit through lectures on the importance of Gatorade or hang out with Jake from State Farm? There’s a line, and The City is over it. Even if The City isn’t for you, there’s still a wide variety of ways to play in NBA 2K22. Many players will jump into My Team, where you collect cards, level them up, and build the best team you can. It’s actually a lot of fun. Trying to go free to play here is awful, with the pace of unlocks horribly balanced. This entire mode is designed to force players to spend real-world money. That’s no big deal in free-to-play games, but when it’s a part of upward of $100 title, I’m a little less inclined to be forgiving. Offline, there’s always single matches, a playoff experience, or the mode which has kept me busy for twenty years: franchise. This allows you to take over a team or group of teams and lead them through the years. This mode hasn’t really changed. There are a few minor tweaks like the ability to remove teams from the league instead of just adding them, but they’re minor. Still, it’s so fully loaded that there’s a ton of fun to be had. You can also jump into a single-player WNBA experience now, which is nice, though it’s pretty bare-bones compared to The City. It focuses on the basketball and removes running around a janky city in slow motion. Once on the court, everything turns around. The team at Visual Concepts has done a fantastic job of building on the game’s already great base. The little things this year feel bigger than in many others, though. The shot meter introduced last year was solid, but I had some difficulty finding the right timing with it. This year’s version does a great job of helping players get a feel for a team full of players and even the defense has seen an overhaul. Perimeter defense feels a lot better now. It feels awesome to silence a crowd and terrible when you just can’t despite your best efforts. Funneling players to your bigs feels natural, and shot-blocking has taken a huge leap. It feels natural, allowing big men with great shot-blocking ability to put their stamp on the game in a way that has been difficult in recent years. AI is also improved. Defenders move together, recovering smoothly. On offense, off-ball movement is the best in the franchise. Finding open shooters after they cut around your pick and roll is awesome. The perfect shot now leads to a little cinematic, which did a nice job of highlighting the moment without taking me too out of the game. Perhaps these are too common, but it’s nice to see a reward for getting my timing right. The rest of the game’s presentation is a mixed bag, though. It looks great on the court with fantastic player models and strong lighting. You really feel the power of the PS5. With everything else looking so good, though, the developers still not quite getting the eyes right stands out, though. Perhaps more importantly, the game’s menu system is a mess. Over the last couple of years, Visual Concepts have worked to streamline what had become a deeply dense menu. There are so many options here that presenting them all in the open can feel a bit overwhelming. Now you’re only shown a limited set of options that look great. The problem is that now it’s almost impossible to find certain features but hands down this is the best version of the franchise to date.

So far the game feels like your sliding around the court on ice skates but the thing is it's as if u have never skated before in your life an shooting is almost impossible for those who who are just playing the game casually ... Seems like 2k would rather cater to the video makers an people who make a living off playing games rather than the majority who buy the game and can't blow tons of money on the game to have decent players so if u can't shoot u can atleast do something to get a win in these laggy online modes where it feels like ur skating around the arena... Hope it gets better for switch users most other users seems to be happy it seems so I guess it is what it is

I put up with it last year, but not again. 2k treats PC players as second-class citizens which I know based on console getting massive updates to the entire game while the only difference between this game and 2k21 is that they butchered the shot meter to make the game unplayable and they renamed a dozen badges. Last year playing the game was painful and the most frustrating thing I have ever done, and since 2k couldn't be bothered to change the gameplay in the slightest I am not going to reward them for their terrible practices as I have refunded the game. I bought 2k21 and last year and there is no sense in buying a terrible game twice. I cannot stress enough how good of a decision it is to not touch this game or this franchise with a 10-foot pole in its current state until full next gen is available, which I seriously doubt will ever happen.
