The bosses pretty much all fight the same except for the last boss, The game got easier and easier as I progressed, and there was 0 challenge by the 2nd act, and I was completely bored by the third act.The game is also quite buggy. My pet kept disappearing. The button to exit out of the current game doesn't even work. My character kept getting pushed out of bounds where I couldn't move.There's a passable ARPG game here somewhere if someone actually cared enough to make the pieces work together. Torchlight 3 in its current state possesses the bare minimum to be called a game that vaguely resembles Torchlight. It's broken and boring. The olny reason I'm not rating it lower is because I did have mild fun during the first act.

See how this game was released a year ago I'm quite distraught by how they didn't fix the bugs in the game. It just feels like they didn't care about improving the quality. One thing that happened all the time was my pet would disappear. I would have to go back to my fort and swap out the current pet to a different pet and then re swap the other pet back in in order for it to show up. This happening over and over again was so annoying. And it looks like a bug that could have been fixed especially since the game was released a year ago. By the end it just became so boring too. There was nothing new about the game. I did like the Spells but I just was invested in it. Why couldn't you fix the bugs? And by the end of the game I just wanted it to be over. And now I'm glad it is. I like to grind but in the end of this just felt like a complete waste of time.

Torchlight III is not a bad game, it’s just a filler, a quick fast food lunch for action RPG fans, one to play once the better games in the genre have been beaten. I feel this game is not one for replayability – once the story is done and the end game content becomes monotonous it is time to move on to something else. This might suit people who do not want to be invested in grinding for hours upon end and simply want to slaughter plenty of familiar enemies for a few hours, but for the hardcore, this will be a disappointment.

Its gameplay mechanics are enjoyable, although a bit too unwelcoming forbeginners, and its audiovisual world is good enough to be immersive. Theproblem is this third chapter in a series of action RPGs does little tostand out amid its peers and what was remarkable in previous years endsup feeling repetitive by now, with little new elements to add. This game is literally the most frustrating multiplayer experience I have ever had. Its not even bugs, it is just awful design decisions. Which i state again...THESE ISSUES ARE ALREADY SOLVED 15 YEARS AGO. Good luck trying to quest with your friends, especially if they have jobs and you can't all be the same level at the same time on the EXACT same quest, otherwise you will waste VAST amounts of time.I hope the game gets better over time. I loved the previous Torchlight games, but I find this incredibly boring, they took away everything that made other games beautiful, they tookI loved the previous Torchlight games, but I find this incredibly boring, they took away everything that made other games beautiful, they took out the dual wielding, they took away the challenge of the dimensional doors (some really difficult and rewarding), they took away the gemstones that enchanted weapons and armor, they removed the altars to enchant the weapons, in the end there was only a game that was all the same and decidedly repetitive, I just fear that everything they removed is then added later as a paid DLC, a very bad habit that many houses that produce video games are taking (google translate)

Torchlight III started life as a free-to-play title, and by all accounts it shows. It won’t bore you, but it’s just not engaging enough to become your next gaming obsession.

Torchlight III is the sort of game that we can only describe as genre filler. It does absolutely everything that you would expect of an ARPG, and it often does these things extremely well, but it also doesn’t do anything particularly interesting or revelatory. Those of you that love a good ARPG will find plenty to love here, then, just don’t come into it expecting to be blown away by anything on offer. And while we’d sooner recommend that interested newcomers jump on Diablo III for their first experience, it’s pretty tough to go wrong with Torchlight III. Despite some of its shortcomings, Torchlight III is a rewarding experience that we’d say is certainly worth your time.

Torchlight III is an imperfect but endearing action RPG whose great boss fights and enjoyable special skills clash with the noticeable relics of a freemium experience.

Just in terms of the big picture of the overall experience Torchlight 3 has sort of a Frankensteined-together feel, lacking in cohesion and polish. Given the presence of not only Diablo on the platform, but other strong contenders like Victor Vran that deliver a more exciting experience, unfortunately this Torchlight entry just fizzles out a bit.

Torchlight III is nice in handheld mode, but the amount of bugs and issues that the title has directly affects the gameplay. In addition, the online mode currently has too long loading times and we hope that these will be improved with future updates.

Echtra Games’ Torchlight 3 is a lighthearted fun experience with some extremely nuanced character classes and varied build options. Spending hours grinding through dungeons decimating hordes of enemies, either solo or online, just doesn’t ever get old. The jovial attitude of characters and bright color palette help this dungeon crawler stand out amongst others in the genre. It is a truly appreciated deviation from the typical dark and gritty tone players are conventionally provided with. The post-game content is constantly updated and new legendary gear is being added to the game every week. If you are looking for a game to hold you over until the release of next-gen in a couple of weeks, I would definitely recommend checking out Torchlight 3 for an outrageously fun, hack and slash, dungeon crawler.

I certainly enjoyed my time with Torchlight 3 and will continue to jump back in if my friends are online, but the game has its faults. I disagree with the common sentiment in online communities that Torchlight 3 feels like it should have been an expansion to Torchlight 2; the new classes and Relic system are an excellent addition to the series and provide a level of replayability and customisation that the previous games didn’t have. Yet with that being said, I’m not convinced that the extended campaign, fort system and new class customisation options are enough to warrant the hefty price tag when compared to the offerings in the previous games. Not to mention the bizarre lack of online public matchmaking, which was a vital component of the previous game. If you’ve enjoyed the previous Torchlight games, you’ll undoubtedly enjoy Torchlight 3 as well, but you might want to wait until it’s on sale.

Pets disappear, banks delete, cant swing in the direction you want, skills change how they work and bla bla bla. what I dont get is the ppl that say is a good game when it works like S@@T. maybe they are practicing being a Game tester. what ever. fix the game before you put it out. looks like i waisted 40 bucks wont buy from them again.

Torchlight III builds on the previous game's good gameplay, but the overall experience feels uninspired. A bit too many technical problems aren't helping, too.

Although fans did dodge quite a bullet with Frontiers, Torchlight 3 isn’t the sequel TL2 deserves: it’s really just an okay action RPG filled with cute pets and a base of operations gimmick that adds little compared with the enormous amount of stuff that’s lacking at launch. Dungeons will need a big update, combat could be more intense, and the world map is just too damn linear to enjoy.

Even after a dozen hours and more, I still want to log on every night with my friends and grind some genie challenges out to try and get a new piece of gear and upgrades. Best enjoyed with friends, visually it can become quite chaotic when four players are all casting their spells and abilities, filling the screen with particles, explosions and damage numbers. I don’t normally get hooked on ARPG’s like this, but Torchlight III is addictive, beautiful to look at and sounds great, it’s just a shame that there’s so many issues and crashes that are a constant frustration. With a patch or two that fixes its main problems Torchlight III could easily hang with the bigger names in the genre, but until then it’s still an entertaining game to enjoy, but you’ll constantly have to battle against the game itself.

Torchlight III is an enjoyable game but is also a bit more simplified than the previous entry in the series. While the Relic system brings some new ways to customize your character, the lack of a regular flowing of skill trees and spending stat points makes it seem like you can't quite customize your character as much as you'd like with stats being tied into your gear. The new fort system is nice but I really only found myself using it to stash gear I wanted to keep and to swap out pets. Overall while I did enjoy my time with Torchlight III, it felt like a downgrade from Torchlight II and fans of the series might want to wait a bit before picking this one up.

But as annoying as those issues are, there’s no denying the actual gameplay of Torchlight III is a joy. Very few – if any – Diablo-likes have been able to grab our attention like Torchlight III has. It’s just a real shame that the weak endgame offerings means your desire to keep playing screeches to a halt fairly quickly. But if Echtra Games adds in further content at a later date, it’s something we’d be keen to rush back into.

Torchlight III still suffers from many issues that have been present since its Early Access stage, including a middling endgame and bland core gameplay loop. Worse, its restrictions on character builds and relic usage lead to a lack of experimentation and customization.

Torchlight III continues the series' cheap and cheerful take on the action RPG stylings of the Diablo series but comes up short on its combat, looting and storytelling. There's fun to be had here, especially in co-op, but nothing about the game stands out apart from some pretty, but messy, visuals.

Torchlight III has come a long way from the original game. The graphics stay true to the series but look a lot more refined. The options for characters have been compacted, but the introduction of relics allows you to mix and match for variety without suffering from choice overload. It stands shoulder to shoulder with games like Diablo as a fair alternative, but I feel playing with friends is a must as you may lose interest just playing solo.

I played with a controller on PC and there were some instances where I had to use the mouse.The combat is somewhat unbalanced. Your, shoot a projectile, is very strong and can beat all the game while swinging a sword/mace is extremely weak. Some magic powers are completely useless while some others extremely strong. So, I mounted only 4-5 of them to max, with 3 passive. All the other powers didn't help me.And they were a lot of glitches with the pets. From one zone to another, the pet would vanish. I had to go back, choose another one, and take back mine. Again some pets doesn't do much. I ended using only one. And there was the matter of fleeing pets. Some are specialized in that. I also had invisible sections of levels around the end. The music and voice overs were really good.I give it 65% because I loved the first two game. I was fairly entertained but all the small glitches and nick-knacks, ruined the experience for me. And what was the point of building a fort ? I felt like they lost their time on that aspect of the game, that seem more like a gimmick thing.

In a way, Torchlight III is a victim of its predecessors' success in breathing such vibrant life into the genre. Torchlight III's simplicity might position it as a decent introduction to the ARPG genre. For most players, it's hard not to suggest they direct their attention elsewhere.

Clever class design accepted, Torchlight III doesn’t offer tremendous innovation or nuance in its systems or gameplay. The gratuitous destruction is often great fun, right up until the hour marker when it’s not, and it all starts to feel a bit tedious. Thankfully, there’s always a new magic sword to collect, a respec to try out, a new character class to discover, or a dungeon to delve. Torchlight III is an approachable action/RPG that’s especially welcoming to newcomers, or simply players who don’t want to focus too hard on their evening’s entertainment. Repeat conquerors of heaven and hell may wish to look elsewhere, but if your desires for fantasy destruction are more about high-octane action, Torchlight III rarely disappoints.

This is a very basic ARPG that frequently shows its free-to-play roots, and in a market overflowing with action-packed role-playing games, being a mediocre sequel isn't going to win you any favors -- especially from hardcore fans.

Deep down, Torchlight III could be a great game. If the developers revamp the map and UI issues I pointed out I’d be over the moon. But in its current state I can’t in good conscious tell you to pay full asking price. Hold off until this is either patched or on sale.

Hardcore fans of this style may be critical of the fact that it might be too simplistic and accessible, and that’s understandable since I have fond memories of working out complex character builds in other games of this nature and feeling pride when they worked out well. Comparing Torchlight III to other dungeon crawlers may come up lacking in those areas, but it’s an enjoyable game just taking it in as its own entity, making the return trip to Novastraia worthwhile.
