I really enjoyed monster Hunter rise but.... only for 2 weekends. Then it became very repetitive and I only got half way or so. I think maybe if you have friends you could play it with this would make it last longer, and if you are a big fan of the series or really like to grind then that too. But for me I just got to where I was killing same monsters over and over again. But before then I had a really good time and I like the music and general feel of the game a lot.

The PC port for Monster Hunter Rise is the definitive way to experience this game. I am excited to see where the franchise goes from here, although I will find it hard to slide back into any Monster Hunter game without the new traversal and streamlined elements. Whether you want to hunt alone or play with your friends, play “Fashion Hunter” or experience the main quests, there is something for everyone in Monster Hunter Rise.

Monster Hunter is a series about systems—Capcom can’t escape that, no matter how much marketing and PR they throw at it. But it isn’t a series about getting it either, as much as its staunchest adherents would have you believe. It’s about feeling it. And Monster Hunter Rise feels good—simple as that.

Good PC version for a really good MH game.Ever since Capcom started using the new modern RE Engine, with RE VII, we knew it was a veryGood PC version for a really good MH game.Ever since Capcom started using the new modern RE Engine, with RE VII, we knew it was a very versatile engine with lots of potential and scalability, and the games that came after quite proved that point, on all systems.The Nintendo Switch needed a good, new Monster Hunter game, and MH World wasn’t going happen over there because, frankly, World still looks amazing today, especially at max settings and high resolutions, on PC, and it’s quite demanding too.With MH Rise, that’s what Capcom did, a bespoke Nintendo Switch game, that plays very well, but looks substantially lower quality compared to World, yet plays amazingly well, the animations are quite good and monsters look greater than ever, especially in the way they move and animate.On PC, MH Rise gets some visual upgrades in the form of better quality textures, mainly, but overall the geometrical quality of most assets remains quite similar to the Switch version, but being able to increase the resolution and frame-rates is a big bonus too.On the Performance side of things, the game is quite easier on the hardware compared to MH World, and it is able to run at stable 60 FPS, 4K resolution, on my Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 Ti, and pretty close to 120 FPS at 1620p DLDSR, everything maxed of course.Being a port from a Switch game, another advantage is that the game is able to perform quite well on 4 core CPUs, like my secondary system which has an i5 4690K and a GTX 1070, and on this PC the game is able to run at 60 FPS and more even at 1440p, so I believe a lot of players will be able to enjoy good and smooth performance in this game.One bug/issue in this game, still not fixed as of the posting of this review, is the Resolution Scale (known as Image Quality in the options): 100% Scale is actually doing 75% internal resolution, which I confirmed by manually counting the pixels on screen with basic geometry / math; and then 150% Scale is actually 112.5% over native resolution, so there’s no easy way to do native resolution, but I reckon for now that the closest way is just setting the scale to 150%, and the game will be slightly downsampled.Controls and Keybinds are excellent on Keyboard and Mouse, for the most part, I believe the mouse still has this really, really tiny deadzone, but it feels better than in the Demo, for sure, so I have no major issues with it.There’s one single key I’ve found I cannot map, which is ALT, but it’s no big deal for me, I have plenty more keys to map, and a simple macro or remap via software can fix that issue, too.I am also a left handed player, and I can map the whole right side of the keyboard with no issues, arrow keys included, which is excellent.Now that I have spent more than 70 hours on Rise, I can say I enjoy its more fast paced combat, movement mechanics and overall feel, compared to World; the latter is still an excellent game, with lots of content, but Rise feels so good with the new improvements to movement and fluid animations, and high frame-rates, that it’s truly a joy to play on PC.I have high hopes for the next big entry in the franchise, if they use the best parts of Rise, RE Engine, better movement mechanics, a bit more fast paced than World, but with the amazing graphics of World, only even better, can’t wait for what comes next, and for the Sunbreak expansion this summer, for sure.I am not a veteran on the series at all, but I feel that with both World and Rise on PC, we have a good base to please most types of MH fans, and a lot to expect for future titles and content, which is great.Monster Hunter Rise is a very enjoyable and fun game, one that proves you don’t need the absolute best Graphics in the industry to have a solid experience; the game is just really well done, and getting into a hunt is so straightforward and fast here on PC that it’s just a fantastic experience, as it should be.

Monster Hunter Rise blends the best elements from earlier series entries, and delivers a streamlined, action-packed, monster-slaying experience.

Despite releasing nearly a year after its Switch counterpart, the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise feels like a minimal improvement. Sure, you can get frame rates in the hundreds and high resolutions, but frequent crashes can reset your settings and cutscenes are still locked at 30. The keyboard and mouse control options are a big boon for accessibility, but the visual improvements here feel so minimal I’ll stick to the portable edition.

Monster Hunter Rise is probably the best game in the series. It isn’t quite as accessible as World, but long term it offers much more varied combat and a richer experience. Its world and gameplay are insanely engaging and fun. Technically, the port to PC results in solid, smooth gameplay and marginally better visuals. If you have a choice, it’s definitely the way to play, the best and most complete version of one of 2021’s standout games.

This PC port fulfills its role very well because it cancels a lot of limitations of the Switch version. The framerate is no longer stuck at 30 frames per second, the resolution can go up to 4K, some textures are much more detailed, and loading times are noticeably reduced. However, we should not expect either that this former Nintendo exclusive will miraculously transform into graphic mastery worthy of the biggest productions of 2022.

In some moments it will be a bit furstrating, mostly when a monster begans to escape, but with the time you will feel okey with that and just adapt to the mechanicsThe reason of why im not giving it a 10 is because I feel the game can improve in other aspects like making the spaces where monsters appear more big. Monster Hunter Rise delivers as the ultimate Monster Hunter experience. With an abundance of elements that make it uniquely related to the other games of the franchise, it also brings back the best in each entry, both in gameplay and in the roster of monsters. It is a must play for anyone who likes action games.

Even though it is quite hard to master this game, it is the most accessible Monster Hunter game ever. The Wirebug makes it easier to move around and there are less waiting times between fights.

It's all about how detailed are the monster and how good the gameplay is. And the gameplay of the Rise is extremely well done. In previous games what people would do is just poke a monster here and there until the big damage moves comes out and with the iteration of Wirebugs and how versatile they are and how much do they offer to every class the gameplay has changed a bit. You have multiple approaches before your high damage combos to the monster and multiple techniques to weaken the monster down instead of just poking. Slow weapon users can now jump out of the huge attack before the need of sheathing due to Wirebugs and the Palamute works great too and allows melee weapon users to sharpen their weapons on the chase of the monster. The gathering has been improved and doesn't take forever anymore. And the game looks very good considering it's on a weaker system. Really well done.

I have played every iteration of the Monster Hunter series since MH3 Ultimate on the Nintendo DS then 3DS (though I've not played MH World).I have played every iteration of the Monster Hunter series since MH3 Ultimate on the Nintendo DS then 3DS (though I've not played MH World). MH Rise maintains the fun of monster hunting (it's most fun when hunting with other players) but adds two key things:1. Quality of life improvements e.g. it's quicker to collect materials along the way (it used to be painfully slow), the Palamute speeds up travel, hold A to carve a fallen monster multiple times, etc.2. Fun new mechanics such as the wirebug which turns you into a bit of a mini Tarzan, and of course, the monster or wyvern riding capability, letting you control some monstersIf you're new to Monster Hunter, my advice is to take it easy. Take your own sweet time at the beginning with the single player "campaign" which walks you through different quests which introduces you key aspects of the game. There is a whole lot to learn, however, you don't need to learn everything in order to enjoy the game. Just learn the basics, and I would say the key basic thing to learn is weapon handling - just pick ONE weapon (easier ones to pick up include sword and shield, dual sword, long sword - note easy to pick up doesn't mean easy to master!), and learn how to use it. (The next important thing is to learn how different monsters "behave" during hunts - it's the difference between success and failure in a hunt!) Your weapon is the main thing (other than armour next) that will carry you through your initial hunts. In fact, once you are familiar with the weapon system, you can immediately jump on multiplayer as well just to get a feel of hunting with other players. Monster Hunter is best played with others around the world - that's the fun of it!If you're a veteran of Monster Hunter, well, you don't need any advice. All that you knew is still there, but you get to enjoy the quality of life stuff that makes Monster Hunter Rise much more enjoyable since some of the terribly boring and painfully mundane mechanics have been taken out of the mix, letting you jump on multiplayer hunts immediately. That's not all though - there are new mechanics for you to learn too - the new Tarzan moves with the fun wirebugs, new Switch skills, etc. Hunting is still soooo fun!If you've played Monster Hunter World before this, you may find the mechanics in Rise just a slightly more "complicated" at times, but it's a perfect jumping on point because you're already familiar with hunts and weapons.As a result, I must say that Monster Hunter Rise is THE best in the Monster Hunter series and is a great time for new Monster Hunter players to join in the hunt, while returning or veteran hunters can continue enjoying the game with lots of new stuff - and helping new Monster Hunter players enjoy the journey.Jump in and enjoy the thrill of the hunt! Absolute 10/10!

This new opus is a great opportunity for everyone who dreamed of trying out the Monster Hunter licence but never dared to do so. Nonetheless Monster Hunter Rise find itself oversimplified because of its new features for most of the saga’s regulars.

Monster Hunter Rise is the perfect adaptation of the classic Capcom saga but adapted to the technical possibilities of Nintendo Switch. If you are lovers of the formula you will enjoy it as always. However, something new is missing to help the franchise move forward.

I put about 280 hours into Generations Ultimate and was playing it even up to the time this review goes live, but for mostly lack-of-PC reasons I never got into World. Monster Hunter Rise has enough content that I feel like I’ll be able to go all the way with it, and be able to take on the new hunts as they’re delivered. Even those who are just looking for a good action game, and have no history with the series, should jump in. If nothing else, I could use some help with Rathalos.

Monster Hunter Rise introduces several new gimmicks such as the wirebug and the Canyne that further improve the depth of the gameplay, becoming thus essential tools for future entries of the franchise. Monster Hunter Rise is, without a doubt, the definitive hunting experience in Nintendo Switch.

By carefully mixing the most successful features of Monster Hunter: World, the "classic" structure of the old episodes, as well as a tasty roundup of novelties and sensational improvements to the quality of life, such as the Canyne and the wire insects, the Tsujimoto team he managed to synthesize an almost perfect play formula.
