Much better pacing than the first game. Yagami is fleshing out to be pretty badass, but still not quite Kiryu levels. Gameplay, especially combat is also much better with more depth and variety. Some of the less interesting gameplay sections like tailing a target or taking spy shots are not as prevalent in the main line, which is better for me.What I Dislike: Some of the side characters aren't as well written in this game. Feels a bit too easy for me at times, with more handholding than previous games. For some reason, the world doesn't feel as vibrant. Eating for example is kinda pointless.How It Stacks Up: It's Yakuza all grown up. The first Judgment didn't quite resonate with me, but this one hit all the right notes. Offers a more mature setting than Like A Dragon, and also quicker to finish. It leaves little breathing room to do side quests, but that's how I like to play Yakuza games (mainline first, then all the open world stuff in Premium Adventure mode). For people new to Yakuza, personally I'd still recommend Like A Dragon, or even Yakuza 0 over this, unless you're really into detective stories.

Lost Judgment represents the unexpected return of detective/brawler Yagami and company in an even more exciting adventure that brings everything we loved in the previous instalments, and much more. Peak old-school Yakuza-like experience for those who love the more active approach to this genre.

The game looks like a Yakuza reskin, but that’s not quite true. Lost Judgement is more refined, so to speak: there’s more emphasis on the detective work, and Yagami isn’t so keen to get into fights. Although there’s still plenty of random street thugs for you to beat up.

If nothing else, Lost Judgment proves it would be a great shame if he didn't get another opportunity to find his niche.

Lost Judgment is a bittersweet event. The story aims for a mature tone but is too often a macabre, morbid misfire that strays too far from the balance between silly and serious that the series is famed for. It's not a poorly developed title, though; the outrageously brilliant combat and sandbox distractions are clear evidence of that. It just struggles to tell the sort of meaningful, believable and sensitively weighted story that players have come to expect from this talented team.

Lost Judgment feels like a genuine alternative to the Yakuza games of yore, albeit one that’s still reluctant to leave its comfort zone.

The game is not perfect, it has its problems but the good things it has make the negative a small problem. The combat is so dynamic that it gives you the freedom to do many things including juggling combos, many minigames that are a refreshing addition to isezaki ijincho as it makes the city feel alive with the activities you can do. The detective system is not that challenging and does not penalize you at all if you make a mistake but it gives you satisfaction with extra points when you solve a case without making a mistake. highly recommended. You also do not have to play Judgment to play Lost Judgment since the story is written in such a way that you do not feel lost if you did not play the previous one, which I still recommend that you play

While I enjoyed the experience of Lost Judgment overall, I finished the game with a lot of nagging feelings. The game was definitely rushed in some areas, and some more tender love and care were definitely needed in terms of refining the newer gameplay elements. It’s clear that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had a lot of new detective elements it wanted to explore, it’s just a shame most of them don’t work without either killing the game’s pacing or are just plain boring. The story, however, is very powerful and has a lot of presence, but makes some uncomfortable missteps. The combat is fast and frantic but can be glitchy at times. Everything points to this game being rushed, and it definitely shows in so many areas. Lost Judgment is a great game plagued by lots of little mistakes that sadly are too much to ignore. While it’s not as strong as the first installment, it’s worth playing to see how Yagami’s story comes to an end.

Lost Judgment is more of the same with some fine tuning, but there are no revolutionary updates. There are more activities than ever, but the interface is the very same. There is a more fluid a spectacular combat system, but the AI is just the same. The analysis of the environment for clues still feels underdeveloped, and the tailing of people is still clunky, despite the new mechanics. If you liked the first episode, you’ll love this one, despite the high school drama. If you did not play Judgment you can start with the new game to see how well it suits your tastes, since it can be enjoyed without knowing past events. All in all, it is a good sequel to a promising franchise.

I loved the story, all of the twistand turns.. but by hours 12 or so, I was just ready for them to get on with it… stop sending me on this wild goose chase and just end this already… None of the new information was compelling and even if it were, this new info would be stretch out across hours leading me to just be over it before even more new info came in to be stretched out another 2-3 hours.. this story could’ve easily been trimmed down towards the end..But overall Lost Judgement offers a compelling murder mystery worth sitting down with for a week..One that’s simple and accessible enough to feel like a tv series you sit down with for a few hours a night..The pacing gameplay wise is amazing, and if you love your self some crime dramas pick this one up..I give Losst Judgementan 8/10

I'm a big fan of the yakuza style of game play, mix that with a cool story and fast combat and it's a win for me. I highly recommend playing this.

You have a new dancing, biker gang, skateboarding and robot mini-battle type side stories that gives the game a whole new look and all this ties into its own central storyline, making just the side content of this game feel like its own game considering you're getting 20-30 hours here.- The story is very dark, engaging and does an excellent job tackling bullying and sexual assault among its main themes, and covering these topics in a way that makes it feel very real and relatable.. I cannot remember any other game that has tackled a sensitive topic like bullying to this depth.- New standout characters like Soma and Kuwana are memorable and very well-written. The game looks gorgeous in the PS5 and I look forward to the Kaito files DLC in a few months.- The only drawbacks are the annoying QTE during fights, tailing and other stealth mechanics that were hard to enjoy, pacing issues with the story and the feeling that in some instances, more could have been done - these are small drawbacks compared to the massive improvements brought about. When you have a series that does everything so well, the few drawbacks are more apparent because we get conditioned to expect such a high standard of gaming compared to most mainstream titles. 9.3/10. Must play.

This is an absolutely heartbreaking, gut-wrenching story. Absolutely GOTY. The antagonist in this game is not only my favorite RGGThis is an absolutely heartbreaking, gut-wrenching story. The characters are amazing, story is engaging, and combat is so good. I've poured 200+ hours into the first game, and I can happily say that LJ is an improvement over the first in almost every way.

Lost Judgement is in my eyes a superb addition to the Yakuza series and is jam-packed with content. The graphics are great, the voice acting is great and the amount of activities that will distract you from the main quest is mind-blowing. It used the same formula which made its predecessors so much fun to play and improved on it. Even as dark and gruesome as the main story is there is always something around the corner in this game to put a smile back on your face.

Yakuza games have been arriving thick and fast over the years, but Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio still hasn't lost its touch. It's hard to think of another series with such regular entries that manages to constantly evolve at this level. While most don't add too much to alter the formula, Lost Judgment throws just about everything it can into its world without feeling over-saturated. With the main story, side quests, school stories, mini-games, exploration and other distractions, it's hard not to be impressed with what's on display. There's still an element of hold handing in the detective sections we'd love to see worked on and the lip-syncing may not be the best, but the team's first attempt at delivering a simultaneous worldwide release for the series is a gamble that has paid off and perhaps offers the best entry in the franchise so far.

Lost Judgment is a good sequel to an amazing predecessor. The fighting system is fun, the mission design is very diverse, and you can still put hours into entertaining optional stuff within the vast open world. There is just one thing that makes a huge difference. Takayuki Yagami's new case is not in the least as personal and captivating as his first one. That doesn't make Lost Judgment a bad game, but it makes it clearly stand behind the first part of the spin-off series.

It's familiar and comfortable, and it's likely to please fans of the franchise who weren't thrilled with the JRPG style of the last game. If this really is the Judgment spin-off's last entry, then it's a fitting send-off to the sub-franchise.
