Though, it leaves a hard feeling of sadness.- The game progression is balanced with some exceptions.- You can achieve multiple endings (except forth maybe, because it is extremely hard and long without trainers).- Design.Cons.:- Some of the buffs for bosses are insane. For example, the Traitor Lord is very powerful while Hollow Knight is not that impressive. It doesn't make any sense.- The forth ending should be granted without that painful gameplay polishing of finishing all bosses over and over again. It doesn't make sense again - the game is already quite challenging. The developers just force the players to jerk the joystick or keyboard off more and more. Same with the level in the dream world and the Pale King - the saw level I mean. It is insanity for speedrunners and extreme fans. But others will just say "screw it, I'll use trainer." And that will kill the whole idea of achieving the two other endings.Anyways, it is a great game. The concept of the game that you actually fight the light caught my eye. We basically play bad guys - the Void. But it make sense since the whole thing takes place underground. There is no need for light there - almost all creatures are bugs.BTW free DLCs. You MUST reward developers for that I guess. Respect!

I am rubbish at games and still no where near finishing hollow knight but the gameplay is so addictive.With practice and grinding to upgradeI am rubbish at games and still no where near finishing hollow knight but the gameplay is so addictive.With practice and grinding to upgrade it is possible to beat seemingly indestructible bosses once you get the timing right and learn the attack patterns.I wish that the checkpoints were a bit closer together as you often have to fight your way through many levels to get back to the point where you die.That said, I have so far put 50 hours into this game and loved every minute of it.

Leaving aside the combat, it feels good just to control your character, gaining mobility upgrades and skill as you learn to traverse the map fluidly, and I believe that is the mark of a truly excellent game.Hollow Knight is challenging, but never unfair. Combat and platforming are mixed in equal measures, and sometimes combined. It will genuinely test your skill and reflexes, but you will overcome every challenge and you'll feel accomplished doing it.I grew up with Super Metroid and count it among my favourite games of all time. Hollow Knight surpasses it without a doubt. Nice work, Team Cherry. This game is an instant classic.

Hollow Knight won't leave you hollow; quite the opposite. This incredible 'metroidvania', most likely the best example the genre has met in over 20 years, will leave you full with a feeling only a few games have achieved: the feeling of having played a masterpiece.

Hollow Knight’s cryptic lore doled out in pieces leads me to believe I saved Hollownest in my ending, but an after-credits screen shows a 73% completion in 27 hours of play. I may have finished, but I’m far from done. I still have tons of upgrades, optional bosses, a true ending and a mantis to overcome. And I’m itching to jump back in.

Hollow Knight is a charming arcade that will not only inspire Metroid/vania fans. You will never be bored in the enormous and magical environments thanks to the colorful RPG elements, interesting story and unique visuals.

Despite some lack of creativity it’s so good that it’s hard to believe that it’s the first project of a tiny studio. Had brilliant Ori and the Blind Forest not existed, Hollow Knight could have become an official standard for Metroidvanias.

I still hesitantly recommend Hollow Knight to anyone as partial to Metroidvanias as I am, but the experience runs far longer than its visual appeal does, and at that point it becomes just another Dark Souls wannabe. It’s solid, but it demonstrates how far we still are from puzzling out From Software’s master recipe.

If you're a fan of any of the genres that have been brilliantly meshed together to compose Hollow Knight, I highly recommend you play it. Even if you aren't. Play it anyways.

The story is interesting and philosophical, although it does require you use your imagination. The game is difficult, yet accessible (with modes that make it 'Dark Souls' difficult, if you're enough of a masochist). No qualms and no regrets, except that I wasn't an original Kickstarter backer. If you like video games at all, buy this. 9.8/10.
