For me it was the first WWE 2K game and it really didn't bring the joy I had with the SmackDown vs Raw games. It can be fun to play with friends, but I got bored of it quite fast. Carreer mode was horrible. It had the same thing happening over and over, not to mention that I was frustrated with it as it become too hard if you wanted to play as a face.

One on one, one on two and triple threat matches run perfectly fine, but anything more than that is abysmal. Entrances are a nightmare, mycareer is unplayable, audio quality is significantly worse than the console counterparts, crashes happen frequently and the graphics are comparable to WWE 2k14. We’ve seen the switch do better with doom and Skyrim, how can’t this run fine. I’d like a WWE 2k21 on the switch but if it’s anything like WWE 2K20 I’ll pass

This game just doesn't run in any way that you could ever look at it and think "that seems like it's ready to be sold to consumers" the frameThis game just doesn't run in any way that you could ever look at it and think "that seems like it's ready to be sold to consumers" the frame rates of some of the Wrestlers intros can drop to single digits and none of them are sync'd correctly with their music which means the presentation is just horrific to sit through.When you play this you just can't help but think how much of a shame it is that they didn't simply lower the res, even drop it down to something like Sub HD 480p and lower the number of 3d models in the crowd or remove things like smoke effects which murder the framerate and this could have been one of the best Switch ports on the market, considering that every bit of content from the other systems seems to be present, but .... yeah it all just feels like it's running in super slow motion which makes the pinning and submission mini games damn near impossible to do since there's half a second+ of input lag at all times.Such a shame that this was launched in the state it is just to make a Christmas release.

You literally cant wear or unlock anything when it comes to your custom wrestler with out grinding for not hours, but days OR spending more money on a game that you spent money one, spend more money on for season pass, spent more money on for the Kurt Angle pack, which for some strange reason *Cough* money *Cough* is not included in the season pass, and also the Batista, RVD, Retro Cena pack, ALSO NOT INCLUDED ON THE SEASON PASS THAT IS SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE EVERYTHING!!!!!2K demands that if you do not want your career mode wrestler to look like a default jobber and you actually want to make your wrestler you own, GIVE THEM MORE MONEY ON TOP OF THE $90+ USD that you all ready spent on it or enjoy grinding for a week so that you can unlock 50 loot boxes that give you duplicate after duplicate of that Brett Hart jacket that you will never freaking wear..Another thing is the fact that you are now no longer allowed to lose key matches. if it says you need to win or you need to lose, you have to or it resets the match. The one that stands out the most is the money in the bank match. Winning this match is hard enough.... actually next to impossible even on easy. Yet not only do you have to win it, you have to use the ladder as a weapon as well as do an OMG moment. not knowing these were all have to's, I played the match 5 times in order to win it and once I won it, it said I failed to do everything and started it all over. At that point I threw my hands up and said no, im done... I exited out of story mode and will not continue it.2K has become just a pathetic excuse for a company after they pulled this one.

I feel bad calling this a bad game as I can see the makings of a good game in here, it's just unfortunate that all the technical issues completely destroy whatever chance this game has of being even remotely playable. I like to be the optimist and hope that with a future patch these issues can be resolved but at this point, I'm not sure if 2K is going to put the effort into it. Hopefully, 2K give it a decent shot with their next attempt if they try for another wrestling game on the system, be it WWE 2K19 or the ever hoped for follow up to No Mercy, heck I'd take an Allstars 2 at this point. Until then our hopes for a decent wrestling game on a Nintendo system will be just that, hopes.

WWE 2K18’s price gives you the right to expect a triple AAA product, but instead you get a shabby game that looks like it was thrown together hastily and as cheaply as possible.

The fact that this is a terrible port on the Nintendo Switch only makes things worse. All I can hope for at this point is to have a developer show up with a vision, a way to turn the WWE series around and begin from scratch. Perhaps next year. The Nintendo Switch would be a perfect platform to start from scratch and create something truly magical that does the art of pro-wrestling the justice it deserves.

Each year pretty much feels the same and I think the game is in need of a massive overhaul. The roster in the game this year however is absolutely huge and without a doubt the biggest the game has ever had, and I appreciate this but I would prefer them to focus on other areas of the game more. The area I would like them to focus on more is the amount of bugs the game has. There definitely seems to be more bugs than usual and these bugs do impact on the fun factor quite considerably. I would also have liked to have seen more changes to the Universe mode as well because playing it just feels like a chore too often. I did however like the MyCareer mode more this year and the main reason for that is that they’ve let you have more freedom, which makes things more enjoyable. I also liked the little tweaks that have been made to the wrestling this year, and I think the gameplay feels more fluid and productive than it has in a while. The presentation side of the game has good and bad points. Visually I feel the game looks great and there seems to be more added details this year, which makes the game feel more realistic. The sound design though is not very good and the music just ends up grating on your nerves. At the end of the day I can see why people are becoming more and more frustrated with the WWE series, and the main reason for this is the lack of changes. The game doesn’t have any competition and I just feel that the amount of effort going into the game isn’t as high as it could be. Don’t get me wrong the game isn’t bad, it just feels the same every year and that can be off putting to long term fans of the series.

When a company releases a game at full price I expect a challenge and not everything to be unlocked immediately however Loot Crates are the worst possible idea of "Safe Gambling" out there, we shouldn't have to spend any type of currency (Virtual or Physical) to unlock something that was intended to be in the product in the first place.. If anything all items should be listed in a virtual store which then can be bought with in game currency which could be earned through playing the game itself.Also learn to optimize your game 2k... It is one thing if I bought the game and didn't meet the System Requirements then sure I would be at fault.. However when your recommended requirements are less then what I have and the game still runs so poor that in a "One v One match" I am experiencing frame drops... come on... It's another rushed effort from 2K Games which botches the launch of an eagerly anticipated title. It's so frustrating because WWE 2K18 is packed with content and could have been truly special, if a little more care had been applied. Maybe a patch can salvage this release but for now you want to avoid it.

While co-developer Blind Squirrel has stated publicly it is working on implementing some post-launch improvements, it doesn’t change the fact WWE 2K18 ever existed in this form at all. Switch has had an incredible 2017 and played host to some truly awe-inspiring ports, but as it stands the latest slice of sports entertainment is best enjoyed elsewhere. Wrestling fans with a Switch deserve better games than this sorry jobber.

WWE 2K18 is just painful to play. Almost everything about the port is poorly implemented, causing me to just feel utter sadness.

While WWE 2K18 does hit enough right notes for a recommendation, it still leaves something to be desired. As much as I like the style of these newer games, I miss being able to be as nonsensical as the older ones would allow. All in all, it's a toss-up for me.

Although WWE 2K18 brings a number of changes and improvements to the long-running series, its handling of the MyCareer mode is truly baffling. Whatever ambitious qualities it might have had are buried under a snore-inducing grind. Almost everything from boots to suplexes is locked away inside loot crates. If the player wants to craft their own wrestler and guide them to glory, they're better off sticking to create-a-superstar and participating in the WWE Universe. Otherwise, their avatar is going to be a poorly-dressed schmuck with a very limited set of abilities. Take this critic's advice, and just ignore MyCareer entirely. The other gameplay modes are where the entertainment is at.

So the sport hasn’t changed apart from an increased roster, but if you have a previous installment of the series, you may as well stick to it, unless having the latest crop of pro wrestling stars is of utmost importance to you. But, if you’re looking to get into some wrestling for the PC, then the monopoly 2K Sports holds on licensed wrestling games means that even though WWE 2K18 has a heap of issues, it is unfortunately still the best available.

WWE 2K18 starts strongly and the nostalgic atmosphere of the game take you back to good old days of the series. But the fact that there’s no other game on the market to challenge it causes the developers to leave some small issues unpolished. Yet, WWE 2K18 is a great sports game and one the best WWE games ever.

The passion is gone from this franchise and something needs to be done to get it back. The good thing is, like many other die hard wrestling fans, I’m very forgiving and this year’s enhancement talent-like performance won’t deter me from checking out next year’s release. But unfortunately, I can’t recommend this year’s release to anyone. Stick with the older games in the series for now.

If you were hoping for a radical change, you'll be disappointed. 2K Games and Yuke's have heard the critics and learned from them. WWE 2K18 improves throughout on its predecessor. My Career mode is full of possibilities and Road to Glory provides endless fun. In addition, WWE 2K18 has some new mechanics that bring variety to the fights and it has the largest roster in the entire series.

I was wrong, yes it is beautiful and the game play isn't too bad. But the character development is so damn bad, and the walking around a venue to exit the parking lot because your done with your day. That is a huge waist of time, even more so you will cut so many promos that this is what the game becomes about, cutting promos. Yes you get a match here and there, but for every 3 or 4 promos i get one match and no ability points. The ability to grow your character is very limited and boring, I regret wasting my money on this. But I thought buying the digital copy would be worth it, I was completely wrong. I am going back and buying 2k16 or 2k17, rent the game from a game rental place before investing all your money. This game is bad, they need to start over and use some of the great things about previous games that worked and get rid of this version of the game. Whomever was in charge of overseeing the development of this game, needs to be fired. They have not made a fun game to play, but they made a great game to look at.

The updated graphics, collision d tectonic, and modified submissions and grappling offer newcomers and seasoned vets chances to enhance and enjoy the game. All round solid entry with room for improvement, and countless hours of fun.
