There's puzzles that are reasonably easy, and some basic action elements, but nothing that will blow you away. The narration/reactions to your actions by Trover is fun (again, for fans of Justin Roiland humour). A solid 7/10, but nothing more, at worst a 5/10, depending on if you're a JR super-fan though, then it's a 10/10.

Trover and the other characters are always talking about something (always wtf) that adds a lot of life to the game and what they say is really fun.It's a game you play sitting down, I think that's a good thing because sometimes you just want to play VR and relax.I hope there is a sequel coming soon !

While Trover Saves the Universe doesn’t have that same level of interaction a lot of other VR titles tend to feature as standard nowadays, its elevated from being a standard VR platformer to one with a unique atmosphere thanks to all the other elements. Trover Saves the Universe is the funniest experience you’ll have on Oculus Quest, plus there’s plenty of content thanks to the included free DLC. It’s a fun experience which should give most players a good 5+ hours of entertainment.

Xbox really isn’t the place you should be playing Trover Saves the Universe, though it is preferable to dropping dough on an expensive VR setup. Even when played on a TV it’s still a solid puzzle-platforming experience, and none of the humor gets lost in translation. It’s a game every bit as funny and nonsensical as you’d expect from the mind behind Rick & Morty, which alone would be enough to give it a glowing recommendation.

You can barely hold yourself to not laugh for no reason while playing this one. The sense of humor is from somewhere else in Trover Saves The Universe as sometimes the game throwing question marks to your head you don't even get what they saying and don't make the NPC's wait cause they never stop talking. The gameplay is diffrent from many other games you controlling a character that controls Trover. Your moving Trover arround there's spots that trover can teleport you to himself so you can get better view of the play area . I suggest you to put your headset on and listen carefully about what they say because sometimes you might need the information the others offer to you. Don't do everything according to playbook on this one sometimes thinkout of the box for sure. A unique presentation, a unique play concept and an overall solid game make this one worth picking up nd adding to your Xbox One digital library.

Coming from Roiland, Trover Saves the Universe was never going to be a straight laced affair. There are plenty of funny moments spliced into the gameplay that will have you laughing. That it ports so well with the VR element removed is commendable; controlling Trover in fights and puzzle situations is intuitive, if no doubt sightly more awkward without that extra element. The constant stuttering nature of the acting did start to grate by the end, though fans of his work will no doubt look over that detail. If you’re after a unique, bizarre adventure for an evening, Trover will most certainly have you covered.

Trover’s one of a kind humour, acting, writing and overall personality are more than enough to justify a trip down this surreal space adventure.

I will say that, if you're playing it in the non VR mode the game suffers not only in gameplay but also the graphics. I played the non VR version for a bit when i was a bit tired and didn't want to wear the headset, and you could immediately tell this game was made for VR specifically. The non VR graphics look really weird and all the colours look wrong. I'd say this is a must for anyone who owns PSVR but maybe not for those who don't, despite there being a non VR mode to play.

It is easy to say whether Trover Saves the Universe is worth your time or not. If you like the humor, the gameplay is solid enough for the game to keep your attention to the end. If you do not like the humor, however, you will probably give up before the first level is completed.

At one point, Trover berates you for killing an important NPC and ruining the game, and tells you to start again from the beginning.All in all this adds up to a really fun game, and as other reviewers have said, you can just wander around and listen to the ridiculous dialog.The VR mode doesn't really add a lot, I found my self playing it on a regular screen after a while.
