Tropico 6 may take its time to allow you to do exactly what you want, but you can at least be confident that you’ll know what you’re doing and how to do it.But again, there’s only so much I can sugarcoat things. Tropico 6 is one of my favourite city-building games and I’ll never say no to playing it on the go, but if you’re interested in it, you need to know that the experience you’re getting is a little rough — to put it mildly.

I’m a huge fan of strategy games so having them on switch is my passion. But alas, from first scene you create your president in you will see one of worst graphics on switch, and it becomes even worse once you start managing your island. If I haven’t played other strategies on switch I would assume this is due to limitations of console, but considering other titles this seems to be just really bad port.

While the gameplay is intact, the visual downgrade to Tropico 6 is so damaging to the game. Juggling different tasks is still fun, but now it all just looks worse. Due to the poor visuals, there are inevitable diminishing returns as your settlement gets bigger, which is the opposite of how it should be. The grander your achievement, the harder it is to actually see it.

Tropico 6’s port to the Switch is a full-sized city building and resource management sim in the palm of your hand, which is the only way I want to play this genre anymore. The relatively quaint scope in comparison to the Civs of the world and the focus on more micro inputs to influence your nation is refreshing, and what compromises were necessary to make it here were well worth it.

The Tropico series was long overdue on Nintendo systems, and Tropico 6 is a stellar example. While it’s a little overcomplicated and unexplained in places, it’s a super deep and satisfying experience. No recount needed here.

It's the game's commitment to accessibility that makes Tropico 6 a refreshing example of an under-served genre on the Switch. Despite some irksome performance problems, occasionally inconsistent pacing and some rather rough visuals, the game is a lot of addictive fun to play and its cheerful ambience and compelling systems will keep you glued to your handheld. Paid DLC adds even more systems to the game, but there's plenty here to keep you occupied for hours and hours. We'd recommend this to genre newbies as well as veterans; a very impressive port with strong controls and a UI tailored brilliantly for handheld mode. It's a busy, demanding game but never feels stressful, and juggling your industry, faction relationships and the mood of your citizens can be thoroughly absorbing. If you can forgive the technical issues and an occasionally slack pace, Tropico 6 is an easy recommendation.

It’s a fun and challenging process of gradually erecting a complex infrastructure and then seeing everything function like clockwork. Limbic Entertainment has done a great job overall, and Tropico 6 is a fantastic addition to the strategy genre. With the amount of content in the “Missions” mode alone, I feel it's well worthwhile to try it out if you're a fan of the genre. Some gamers may thrive in a game that literally gives you every option you could ever think of in addition to a ton of quests and challenges to keep you on your toes. Although I didn't care too much for Multiplayer, I thoroughly enjoyed the core campaign 'missions' and really enjoyed learning how the entire game works through the tutorial chapters.

Tropic 6 is a game that will provide fun to those who acquire it for many hours. Its playability, game modes and graphic section are captivating. Given its characteristics, the game is ideal for newbies in this genre. If you do not have much experience playing video games of this type, you will love Tropic 6, if on the contrary you have already played many deliveries of this genre, Tropic 6 may seem a bit simple.

Whether or not Tropico 6 is for you really depends on your affinity for the genre, and Tropico in particular. If you’re a fan of previous games in the series, you’re apt to like this one, mostly because it’s less an evolution and more a simple refinement. The Best part of Tropico is the ability to Role Play El Presedente however you'd like! Communist Idealism appealing to you, then rule with perfect equality for your citizens. Start a Democracy and let the peole have their say in everything. Play non Militant and strive for peace without arms. However you'd like to rule, be it with an Iron fist, or a soft voice, the choice is yours! The only time you have a real deadline is in the Colonial Era, where you have to declare your independence before being removed from power. You can stay in any other Era as you please, unlocking new technology with each, allowing you more control, and balancing. The economy is toucy, and hard to recover if you hit a monitary snare. And balancing the Factions is IMPOSSIBLE, in fact the game tells you this multiple times, I suggest you decide fast where your loyalties lie. The tutorial feel over informative, and only served to frustrate me, wondering the value of this information to actual game play. Sandbox mode did better easing me into the game ten the tutorial, though the information in the Tutorials is invaluable, it doesn't fell like it's in a good order to learn the game. With 15 Story missions and over a dozen sandbox islands, that you can rule however you wish, Tropico 6 can bring you endless enjoyment on your Xbox One!

I enjoyed my time with the campaign, even if some of the objectives and demands sometimes got a little too overwhelming. At least sandbox mode is there, allowing you to de-stress with no pressures and just enjoy the act of creating your own little empire.

Tropico 6 is an incredibly enjoyable management sim with a lot of charm and a great sense of humour. It's not too different from the rest of the series but you'll still find yourself playing it for hours on end.

Despite some of its difficulties, Tropico 6 is a perfectly adequate port of an impressively layered and comically disarming PC experience. It isn’t going to be lighting the world on fire, as far as innovation is concerned, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see El Presidente try it on the forts of his opposition. If you’ve been hankering for the next chance to embrace your inner fascist, this should be a fantastic way to satiate the bloodlust.

But I have never seen such a jump in quality between two entries in a franchise before, and feel like it is worth drawing attention to and, in this case at least, it greatly improves the game.I have played through Tropico 5 multiple times, so I am a hardcore fan. To be honest, I am having trouble with some aspects of this new entry. I am playing through the second mission twice now, because I failed it the first time. It seems like, as with Tropico 5, doing exactly what the AI / tutorial tells you to do can often result in you running out of money and losing elections.For the purposes of this review, I am willing to assume that (like with Tropico 5) I will eventually be able to figure this out.

Thus, the title offers us a perfect management experience and strategy for beginners in the genre but who know how to keep the attention of the most veterans, in a title that follows the trail of previous games and delves into the strengths of the saga.

Tropico 6 is one of PlayStation 4's best strategy games, and also one of its most unique, putting you into the shoes of a dictator rather than the standard benevolent overseer that most of these titles offer. Taking your tropical island from shacks and farms to skyscrapers and space plans is a lot fun, and there's enough variety in map design and mission objectives to mean that you'll rarely feel like you're repeating the same beats. And honestly, the music really is pretty good.

Its still a fun game and I suppose if the prices are the same you should get the newer game but if you already own 5 there is no reason to buy 6.I completed the first 6 scenarios before getting bored and trying a sandbox game. It ended when I realized that tourism is (still) broken. Namely, despite having a population cap of 10,000, tourism has some sort of soft cap and will not rise above 300ish no matter what I do (same problem with old games). The broker is useless.RAIDS - are no different than old days but can be more frequent due to world wars. They land on your island, you annihilate them easily with just a couple of buildings and a tower. The added frequency did not add anything to the game. Rebel raids, on the other hand, are bugged and impossible to stop. They bypass towers and defenses entirely and set fires at will, then they simply disappear. Its obviously bugged but even if it worked, its just the same old mechanic. They are not a huge problem because its very easy to maintain very high happiness in the game.BLUEPRINTS - are lazy and meaningless. Basically you bring up the building meny and click to buy a blueprint... after you do the building is unlocked. Its just a cash dump barrier and adds nothing to the game especially since its so easy to make cash.

Despite its flaws, Tropico 6 will definitely cause you to stay up later than you should. If you’re willing to forgive the lack of structure, you can spend hours and hours building on each of the included maps. There’s even a randomized map generator once you squeeze all the fun from the included content. In this way, Tropico 6 feels like an old school PC release, but it should still appeal to a wide variety of players looking to rule the tropics with a tanned iron fist.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went into Tropico 6, but I came out in love. It's truly one of the best city building games of all time, and it has an excellent amount of polish, depth, and satire that all help it feel like a unique experience. The cluttered interface is a downside, but it's hardly one that impacts the overall gameplay much.
