The Yakuza games are very much their own thing, and are so densely packed with content that they may require some palate-cleansers in between. But for those who don’t mind doing some serious homework in the form of three mandatory amazing-in-their-own-right prequels, this collection is easily a must-play.

I recommend like everyone else to start with Yakuza 0 though, which is not included here. I DO NOT recommend Yakuza 3, it's the oldest that's not been remastered in any meaningful way, other than some graphical upgrades, it's really clunky and slow and the first part is totally unlike pretty much all the other Yakuza games, SKIP 3 and come back if you become a diehard Yakuza fan.-----Yakuza 4 is much better and more like all the other Yakuza games but it will be kind of confusing if you have not played 1 or 2, story wise. Yakuza 5 is epic but you may want to just play 0, yk1, yk2 since they are more focused and have just one or two playable characters. Yakuza is a deep crime drama and it feels like a movie, the story will keep you going to see what's next. The hilarious side stories are great and if you are into a lot of minigames this would be a lot of icing on the cake, including old sega arcade games, mahjong, shogi, poker, blackjack, roulette and new/unique minigames in this series.----Graphically 4 and 5 are the best of this package but for the most up to date graphics and QOL go for Kiwami 2, it's miles above everything else besides 6 and 7 which are also modern.---Gameplay wise the cameras are not true full 6 axis as you can't really rotate to a up looking position too well, you fight the camera there. The non-story street battles can get really old if you don't enjoy that a lot, I used a trainer to one hit kill there to make them as short as possible. They really need a way to turn those off wandering around the streets, and they usually have some collectible that will at least turn the encounters down but not usually completely off so you have to run away or avoid the obvious npcs seeking fights. 4 doesn't always tell you where to go for the next objective either so it can be annoying, usually you have to just wander around the streets and you'll hit upon it but it can get to the point of an internet search to find what's next which is indicative of bad game design.----Overall get this for 4 and especially 5 but for the full experience, if you don't play the others, you'd want to watch some yt summaries of 0,1,2 (and 3 imo) to get some story background. They really should have put summaries of the previous games in every game because I've played 0,1,2 and I have a hard time remembering every little twist that happened in those main stories. It's very twisty/turns all over the Yakuza games.

While those who have grown accustomed to - or only experienced - the graphical capabilities of the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S generations will need to keep an open mind and may take some time to adjust, the Yakuza Remastered Collection ultimately offers a polished and enjoyable experience that series fans shouldn't skip out on.

This collection is a must have for any Yakuza players that are familiar with the series and want to jump straight into the story after Yakuza Kiwami 2.

The Yakuza series is one of the best at what it does, being an Action-RPG with explorable locations. The games in this collection are dated, but even so, they perform well today and are still enjoyable to play. For players who have played before on console, pick this up if you want updated graphics and the ability to play through the series again without having to worry about backwards compatibility on consoles. For fans on PC who haven’t played the full saga, I highly recommend the Collection as it’s important to understanding the story of Yakuza, and is plenty fun to play, even if it’s dated. For any players who are new to Yakuza, I recommend first checking out Yakuza 0 or Yakuza Kiwami, they are better starting points, the Remastered Collection is not the best place to jump in.

I was expecting some kind of Japanese GTA experience, my limited understanding of the genre left me disappointed in a game that had 15-20 minute long cut scenes. I moved on naturally to Doom and that was that. Fast forward to the first week of 2021 and having played a lot of the games the pc side of XGP has to offer I decided I should give Yakuza a fair chance. If you can ignore the blip ins and low end graphics this series is pretty amazing story wise. Yakuza 3 and 4 both play really well but my favorite to play is without a doubt 5. The action, the story and the slow burn style is captivating. Some really in-depth mini games, fun and hilarious moments mixed with some pretty solid fighting made it a standout for me. I won’t go into detail about the plot, but I played over 30hrs so far and it hasn’t become boring or tedious like some RPGs that require you to invest hours upon hours to the grind. I’m not sure how improved the graphics are I have nothing to compare it to, (Disclaimer: never played these games when they were originally released) I suppose I can Google it but I don’t really mind that the game looks circa early PS3 era. Sometimes people blip in when you’re driving this can be a minor annoyance as hitting them costs points but overall not a major issue. If you see this as a issue try Kiwani 1 or 2 which I’ll play next I believe these are remakes of the first two Yakuza games remade from the ground up in the dragon engine from Yakuza 6 so maybe it’s better to start there. This is definitely worth checking out the devs put a lot of detail into the story and action.

While none of these games should be anyone's entry into the franchise, Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remastered are updated enough to not feel too out of place for those who are eager to see Kiryu Kazuma's story through to the end.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection adds three more Yakuza games to Xbox Game Pass, and they all are excellent story-driven action games that can be enjoyed on their own or as a single chapter in the series.

Visually and mechanically it will be a bit jarring for players who cut their teeth on the series with 0 and the 2 Kiwami games. However those who can forgive these shortcomings, this collection is still quite a value. With 3 titles whose play time can clock in around 20 hours each and even more if you indulge in the plethora of mini games and substories, it’s an absolute steal that the bundled price is $40. The value is even better as this package is available to members of Microsoft’s Game Pass program.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection finally allows PC and Xbox owners to play through the entire Kiryu Kazuma saga on a single platform, and the games have never looked better. And while some of the titles have aged better than others, it's a must-have for those who want the complete Yakuza experience.

Even if the third chapter didn't age well, The Yakuza Remastered Collection is still a great way to experience the Kazuma Kiryu saga after the prequel and the remakes.

There's an absurd amount of content packed into the Yakuza Remastered Collection, and it's great to see fans new and old get to experience the entire series in one place, both on Xbox and PC now. Players need to go into the collection keeping in mind that these are all games nearly ten years old, and they simply won't play as smoothly as newer titles. However, the updated graphical options and retouched translations make this the very best way to experience Yakuza 3, 4, and 5.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection is not a complete rebuild a la Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2. While the visuals are much improved over what they looked like as much as 10 years ago, they are definitely showing their age. But with so much story, so many great characters, so many beat-downs to deliver, this is a trio of games that gives you great value for the price (especially if you get it on Game Pass). For series old-timers or newcomers alike, the Yakuza Remastered Collection is a game every Xbox owner needs to check out.

This trio of games still creak a bit even with this fresh coat of paint and support for both higher resolutions and 60 fps gameplay, but they're still easily worth a play, particularly at this bargain bundle price.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection on PC comes off as a gift to PC players looking to continue their Yakuza experience on the platform. It doesn’t contain any enhancements compared to the console release aside from a few added options, but it is still a damn good time. It may not be worth double-dipping, but rest assured, if this is your first time with this collection, then you’re getting the very best it has to offer.

Yakuza 0 was what got me into the series, whist Kiwami 1 and 2 built upon this massively, so Yakuza 3 and 4 are more like a massive backwards step when you play the games in order. It's nice that some of the combat mechanics vary between each game, but the fighting sequences become so repetitive and predictable after playing a few entries. Yakuza 3 managed to conceal this with a change of pace and setting, however by Yakuza 4 I was arduously chugging along through the dialogue and combat. Yakuza 5 became a tried drawing-out of plots and sequences.One of my biggest issues with this game and the series as a whole sometimes is how much it can waste your time with filler. In addition to this, there are occasions when you are given an objective but no map marker, making for an aimless wander around the map or to the internet. Some may enjoy this but I did not.This is good for your collection but I think reading a synopsis may be the best bridge to Yakuza 6.

As someone who only came to the Yakuza games when Zero was released, getting the chance to play the whole series now is something that really appeals. The narrative in these games may not differ too much from one another, but it is more than made up with the varied and entertaining cast. Kiryu’s Yakuza with a heart personality really stands out and only made me love him even more, especially when he was being an unstoppable fighting machine.

The Yakuza series has finally started to receive some of the acclaim and audience it has long been due. It deserves even more, however. These are some of the finest video games ever made, with no hyperbole. The storytelling is absolutely masterful, gripping and enthralling, filled with characters that the audience will fall in love with.

At times the games’ age is apparent – insome repetitive and annoying boss fights, orthe way special moves shift you annoyinglyaway from where you initiated them inorder for them to animate properly. The Yakuza Remastered Collection is about as perfect a rendition of the three included games as one could ask for. The three mainline PS3 games are here and look and feel better than ever. The redone scripts allow the stories to flow better and for humor to come across in ways that weren’t possible before. The visuals have been improved a bit — not radically, but more akin to a fresh paint job on a car that needs one. The bump up in visual clarity helps the games nicely, but doesn’t make the prior versions look awful either. It’s very much like the original Xbox version of GTA III receiving some mild quality of life visual upgrades, but nothing that affected the core story. Here, it just makes the story look a bit nicer while it’s being told.

The Yakusa Remastered Collection is a decent remaster bundle that fans and novices should enjoy despite his outdated gameplay and the lack of French subtitles.
