Terraria is a game that I sorta grew up with - and it's a fun experience. While a bit hard to get used to, especially if you've playedTerraria is a game that I sorta grew up with - and it's a fun experience. While a bit hard to get used to, especially if you've played something like Minecraft, once you do, you won't wanna stop. The crafting system has plenty of variety in order to build weapons, tools, furniture, etc. You could build your dream castle, or a nice little cottage - the possibilities are endless. The NPCs are also a fun system to interact with, each having their own quirks and traits that can help you on your quest. The crowning feature are the bosses, each providing a unique challenge to them and having their own unique charm. You won't feel that you're fighting the same thing over and over again. The only complaint I have is the endgame - I wish there was more. The final boss is great and the endgame armors are amazing, but there's not much to do with said armors and weapons you'll grind materials for. But other than that, this has been a great experience.

I love Terraria this is one of the best games I have ever played. I have over 340 hours on steam. Bought it and played it like 24 / 7. I have to say that the PC Version also has some small bugs but the rest of the game is just epic. I have seen that this game is on sale for PS4 and ofcourse I had to buy it immediatly as I seen this game is also for PS4. The sad story is that the controlls are hell. The controlls for the console in this game are even worse than anything you could think of. I have tried to change the controlls, even tried to use my mouse and the keyboard on my console but the game does not allow me to use that no matter what. So I have tried playing this game on PC via PS4 Remote Play and yeah the keyboard is working but only for the menu. The rest is even worse than with the controller because changing inputs for the keyboard is also not working. So I a have no other choice but playing this epic game with the worst controlls I ever had to deal with on a consol game. I have tried to learn the controlls but the after awhile the stress gauge is breaking the limit and I just fall in rage and quit the game. Well one of the best games with worst controlls ever made and no way and no support for mouse and keyboard. So I sadly have to keep playing alone on PC. I have bought this game to play with my friends on the console because they don't own a pc. Things could be so easy but sadly they're not. The game itself is 10/10 points the controlls are over 9000 below 0 out of 10.

When using fingers, a magnifying glass will appear to help be more precise. I found I ended up switching between touch and joycons. But the gameplay and core game mechanics are the same, and its still a lot of fun.Overall the gameplay is still the same as on other console versions. You can move around and mine. The story and feel of the game are all still there. The added benefit of the touchscreen makes it a lot easier to play then on PS4 or XBOX.Currently, Terraria only supports multiplayer through Nintendo online, and not local split-screen. Though we have been promised this is on the horizon. The version released on the Switch is the 1.3.0.7 version, which is behind the console version of 1.3.1. Both are far behind the PC version of 1.4.This is a fantastic time waster game. With side-scrolling, touchscreen, building and digging, all in all, a fun game to play. I believe 505 Games did an excellent job porting Terraria to the Switch and made the most of the buttons, triggers, and joysticks at their disposal. but after so many hours of playing with mouse and keyboard, it is hard to adjust. Though, being able to play Terraria from the comfort of my bed may be worth the effort.

Terraria reaches the Nintendo Switch and it brings its trademark mix of freedom and exploration that will get players addicted to it right away. By using both touch screen and conventional controls in very competent ways, Terraria ensures the experience is easy to interact with and as the game advances, its feeling of evolution is clear. Terraria is an experience that can fit any type of player.

Terraria is the same, good old game we all know and love, but the portability of the Nintendo Switch version could make it the definitive one.

Maybe I am crazy, but I think this might be the greatest video game ever made. I know that is a bold statement, but never has there been a game that I bought for 3 separate consoles (Xbox 360, Steam and PS4) and played all the way through on each one like there was no tomorrow.The game starts out as a 2D Mindcraft-esque sandbox explorer, but slowly evolves into an insanely in depth platform adventure/shooter with by far the most expansive crafting system in existence thus far. The amount of materials that exist to build and construct with honestly seems infinite. In all of my 3 playthroughs, I still don't think I've seen every item. The game's item count is in the 2 or 3 thousands and they are still adding new things. The weaponry, accessory and clothing options are vast, with hundreds of ways to customize your character and the abilities that help you play the game. My best strategy to play the overall game is to first set up a base with dorms for NPCs up above, then a basement/dungeon with all the crafting stations and inventory chests below, and under that a tunnel straight down to hell. You will find endless things to do along the way, having over 100 hours of exploring within each of the 10+ worlds you can randomly generate. With the ability to delete and re-create worlds at will, there is no limit to how much you can collect and build.I think this may also be one of the most challenging gaming experiences I have ever undertaken. There are boss battles that require intense preparation. In Terraria, that preparation could include gathering materials, brewing potions, constructing your own arena that helps you fight the boss to your liking, building a house and setting up a nurse near the boss arena so she can heal you during the fight, etc. There are so many ways to go about achieving your goals. Not only are the items vast, but the best part about the game is that the environment is completely manipulatable. There is nothing you can't build, and nothing you can't destroy.Terraria is a massive achievement from such a small team of developers. It's almost impossible to describe, but I guess one could say it resembles Mindcraft meets Castlevania meets Zelda meets...something way better than all of those games combined. Warning: This game should receive an 'LR' rating for Life Ruining. It is that good.

It has local co-op, it has servers, it's has pvp. It's has 2d scroller boss fights. You build bases and craft just about anything and everything you want in the world. It's casual, but it is also hardcore. You can have something like 15 worlds saved at the same time. In fact there aren't many games out there that allow you to do as much as this game does.This game has gigantic replay value because of it's randomly generated worlds and it just has so much to do. I had jungle to my left, ice to my right, and an ocean where my mining should of been. My jungle water then flooded my mines. I tried to mine it out, only to find more water and higher level mobs. I'm attacked day and night by 4 or 5 higher level mobs at a time. Somehow they get into my base. Through the doors and walls. And there was no material to upgrade in my starting area. Eventually I adventured deep into the ice area and I found upgrades. So I overcame. My wife on the other hand got a great starting area and is loving it.This game should be a 10, because it has so much to offer for only $20 bucks, but I give it an 8 for presenting itself as a carebear casual game and beating up relentlessly on me. Mine craft has a much more in depth creative content however with the extra dimension allowing for more complicated structures to be made compared to terraria. When you play this amazing game on the verge of its next big update you realise just how different it is from minecraft and how much more engrossing a play through of the game is compared to minecraft. A $10 game i would say be worth much more.

Each world is packed with mysterious treasures and treacheries just waiting to be discovered, and learning how to use them to shape the world to your benefit is enormously satisfying.

Terraria on next-gen acts just like an updated version of what been seen on a PC, so rich in content. We have still some concerns for the control system, less effective on a controller compared to the mouse.

The PS4 version of Terraria adds bigger worlds, new enemies and new bosses to an already addictive formula, and certainly represents the best place to begin if you still haven't tried any previous edition. Nonetheless, it is not worth your money again if you already own it on any other platform.
