Also some people may not enjoy that some of the maps are based loosely on Russian machinery and locations. So please be aware of this if purchasing.Mod support is by mod.io and not within the game so additional logins maybe required to download and install modsIf you are a fan of simulators and want a easy flight to a game I highly recommend this.

Great game, but IT IS A TICKING TIME BOMB.After about 100-200 hours of game time, the game will inevitably start to crash every 5-10 minutes, rendering the game unplayable. There are no reliable workarounds. The developers know about this issue and said that they are working on a patch. It's been almost a year since this problem has been brought to their attention and they're still working on a patch. Basically since this isn't a mainstream game like Cyberpunk or Call of Duty, there isn't much backlash, so they don't feel the need to fix it. Stay away.

It’s immersive, meditative, but also intense and challenging.The best moments are when you screw up and then have to improvise and recover the situation, like when you send an expedition to save the stuck truck with the cargo.Overall it was my GOTY of 2020, I played over a hundred hours and 100% the base game, then 100% first couple of DLC maps. Just for the reference - I have never spent so much time in one game in my 20+ years of gaming, nor have I ever had a desire to 100% a game, not even BOTW.Sure there are bugs, and at first there was a lot of them, but for me even this fact it doesn’t detract from the experience enough to lower the score from 10.It’s won’t appeal to everyone, but if it clicks with you - it’s fantastic.

There’s no doubt that the controls in SnowRunner aren’t perfect, for instance trying to figure out how to turn on the headlights was an odd challenge until finally the game prompted me on how to use them after I’d been struggling in the dark for quite some time. Annoyances aside, SnowRunner is a great non-18-wheeler truck driving simulator. Its steep learning curve takes patience and determination to overcome. It’s clear that this game is aimed at a very specific clientele. If you like a good challenge and overlanding is your kind of thing, Snow Runners is for you. If you like to romp through the countryside at full tilt with little consequence to your vehicle, stick to Forza Horizon.

SnowRunner will appeal to fans of truck simulators and running cargo. It is a series that has found a niche as an all-terrain simulator and serves it well. Hauling cargo through the snow-covered wilderness requires patience and will cause frustration, but it's all part of the experience and makes a successful run all the sweeter. Unfortunately, some issues are keeping it from being great. Still, SnowRunner is a solid experience on the Switch, especially when the last year has kept many of us from being outside, tearing up the landscape in massive vehicles.

SnowRunner is an interesting truck driving game where the environment is your opponent. As long as you can put up with its audio and visual issues and understand that it's an extremely slow-paced game, the rewards for sticking with it are worthwhile.

SnowRunner on Switch is now the most authentic driving simulator that the hybrid has to offer. It's a feature-for-feature port of an already renowned game and is made all the better thanks to Switch-exclusive portable functionality. While there are some technical limitations, Saber Interactive has managed to cram SnowRunner's foliage-dense open-world maps onto the hybrid with preservation of detail that was unexpected. It's one of the best-looking games on Switch and the largest in terms of sheer content. Anyone who's a fan of driving games is in for a treat.

I love trucks and vehicles generally, I love logistical puzzles, and I like a game that lets me play at my own pace. If this sounds like you, you're going to like SnowRunner. If not, think carefully before shelling out your hard-earned cash. Personally, I've put more hours than I care to admit into this game.Many of the reviews you'll read will complain of bugs that were present and features that weren't at launch. It's hardly debatable that the game could've used more time in the oven before being released. Unfortunately, this trend has continued throughout the season pass DLC content. For example, the most recent expansion includes a new cabin system that requires you to craft and deliver cabins for the workers at your various project sites. It's a great idea and adds welcome depth to the gameplay, but this addition came with bugs. For example: 1) if you leave a cabin in a worksite after the mission is finished, it causes the map screen to go into a frenzy whenever it's opened, and 2) several missions are meant to require 3 cabins but the developers accidentally set it to 10 cabins, which requires an absurd amount of work.This has been a trend; an update comes out and adds features or fixes old bugs, but breaks something else. Players then wait weeks for whatever was broken to be fixed.Fortunately, any bugs that have been introduced have historically been resolved, but due to the process console developers have to go through to get updates certified, the wait is often long. I have confidence that the new bugs will be fixed, but I have also had to come to terms with the fact that I will have to find work-arounds in the meantime and simply not do some of the broken missions until they're resolved.To their credit, the developers listen to the player community. A feature that was glaringly lacking, the ability to secure trucks on trailers, recently arrived and works well. The controversial steering mechanics now have a toggle in the settings that allows you to switch between a "steering wheel" setting, which is more arcade-like, and a "gamepad" setting, which is more realistic. Most of the smaller bugs and game-crashing bugs have been ironed out.If you plan on playing coop, be aware that the issues that you sometimes see with online play for a game from a small developer are present here. Latency issues, animations sometimes not syncing, trailer physics being wacky, etc. For these reasons, I keep a separate save game for multiplayer to avoid corrupting my main save. In an ideal world, that wouldn't be necessary, but here we are.In sum, if you are interested in this game, I have two suggestions. If you want a fully-polished experience, consider giving the developers another six months to use their paying player base as beta testers. On the other hand, if you don't mind browsing forums and social media sites to problem solve with your fellow players, you'll have an enjoyable, addictive experience. Personally, I've had more fun in this game than I've had playing any solo game in quite some time. Being into trucks and logistical puzzles isn't enough to enjoy this game, though -- you need to have patience both for the slow pace of the driving and the slow pace of the developers and the constraints they face with fixing bugs quickly on consoles. For those reasons, this game gets a 7/10 for the time being, but one can be mostly confident that it will only get better as time passes.

It’s not an easy game, per se, but then it never claimed to be. Once you get your head around the time and patience aspect, SnowRunner is going to engross you. It won’t win any Game of the Year awards for being niche, but then neither does Train Simulator. If you can convince some friends to join you, then even better. But even as a solo experience, there’s some absolute joy to be had when you get stuck into it.

SnowRunner sets the bar for other similar simulators. It’s much better than its predecessors, there are hundreds of hours of content, the game looks great and it boasts the most satisfying vehicle physics of all time.

While playing, I am reminded of the feelings I got from Minecraft, Euro Truck Simulator, Portal, and SimCity 2000. Simultaneously relaxing, infuriating, perplexing, and rewarding, SnowRunner is on my shortlist for game of the year. The game is Open World and where you can go is only limited to the truck you're driving. The games' Physics are amazing! The trucks feel heavy and loads accentuate this feeling. The mud, water, and snow physics are amazingly accurate, and you'll find yourself stuck more than a few times. There are trucks and trailers hidden throughout the vast maps, and some of these rigs are wildly powerful, though you can also buy new trucks from the shop, the ones hidden around the worlds are often better vehicles. Objectives are scattered everywhere, and there is never really a lack of things to do. This game is as slow-paced as a Semi truck passing through two-foot mud, and that's kind of what the game is. Victory is achieved through truck selection, path choice, and patience. Because of the nature of the game, between scouting paths and arduously working the larger trucks over the unforgiving terrain, there are likely hundreds of hours of gameplay here. Between the Bogs and snowdrifts, you could easily spend a few hours on a single delivery. SnowRunner is an unforgivingly hard game, with a rough progression system, AND level-dependent unlocks, that will test your patients and decision making. Fans of the Franchise will be right at home, and newcomers may be a bit overwhelmed, but with patience can tame these wildly harsh environments.

An earnest, unapologetically tricky, and time-consuming trucking experience, SnowRunner’s peculiar brand of off-road ordeals is oddly addictive, deep, and rewarding when played in the right spirit. It’s not often we see an authentic, slow-paced delivery sim that doesn’t baffle you with nonsense or try to upsell you a $2,000 jacket, but SnowRunner’s no slouch.

SnowRunner is a slow game, requiring a lot of patience to get through. If you're willing to give it the time investment it asks, then you will find a satisfying experience here, with each contract you take, and each road you traverse, unfolding into one big puzzle to tackle. A hoard of customisation options also allows you to tinker with your trucks to your heart's content. If that sounds up your street, then SnowRunner might be for you, but don't expect to get anything done fast.

It's so fun to drive in such harsh conditions, in mud and snow, it's pretty challenging even without a hard mode that some people requested. There is a lot of content, you will have many many tens of hours to spend in this game. Interiors are looking nice, very good and detailed design. There are multiple upgrades that you can put on your truck, upgrades that affect a lot the gameplay and the way your truck acts in the wild. I would recommend this to everyone who like games like Euro Truck Simulator, but offroad. The map is very big and there will still be some new maps coming in the next months. I'm playing with a gamepad, the controls are not hard to get used to and are pretty well done.For the guy that gave a 0 because of wheels support: they said they delayed testing of wheels because of COVID-19 and work for home so that's why it does not fully support wheels (some are working) and doesn't have force feedback on them at the moment. They said they will update/fix this as soon as possible.For the guy with Epic Games: no comment. This has nothing to do with the game, just grow up and accept that there can be multiple launchers on the market. The launcher doesn't affect in any way your experience with the game.

Simultaneously a big leap over the MudRunner titles and a compelling effort in its own right, SnowRunner's improved focus on the hard fought conflict between man, machine and nature results in a highly rewarding and satisfying driving simulator that is quite unlike anything else.

SnowRunner has its issues, but its unique brand of truck simulation and off-road adventuring is enough to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Basically, if Forza Horizon 4 and American Truck Simulator got drunk and hooked up one night then SnowRunner is what I imagine the result would be. A slower paced game that challenges throughout and stays fresh with a good range of vehicles, upgrades and locations to explore and a great deal of customization.

SnowRunner’s glacial pace won’t appeal to everyone, but this unique haulage simulation manages to transform everyday terrain into an enemy you need to tame. This is a game that’s less about the destination and all about the journey you take; in that sense it’s unmatched, and wildly rewarding in a way that few other open worlders are.

A beautiful-looking simulation with very specific appeal that will likely turn off as many people as it interests. If you’re in the latter group, however, this is an indispensable physics toybox.
