This is game is fun! The story is above average and the controls are superior to Resident Evil 4 (although RE4 has a better story hands down).This is game is fun! I can say with confidence some of the criticism this game gets is not fair, but not saying there isn’t any to be made. This game could really use a crosshair with how bright the sky is in some levels (yeah I know the pc port has one, but it’s not great). One more thing this game could use is a better knife. Yes there’s a stun rod later in the game, but it feels like you’re stabbing the enemies with a butter knife, if you don’t have it. Other than those things, a fairly good adaptation to the classic Resident Evil series.

They cap for and gush over caped 30 but complain about minor drop in a god hitting 60 fps.. 40 to 60 frames is better than cappef always styttery 30, thet just want studio to cap performace so they can use the ectra power making Pc games pretier.. Everyoy studio that has taken DF advice this gen has ended up with a worse product. DF dont make games, they dont even have degrees or can ebencode they are just PC gamers.

It is everything bad about Resident Evil 4, but with none of the charm that made Resident Evil 4 bearable. It's not bad in a way that makes it charming (like its predecessor), it's just plain bad and is a chore to play. There is only one thing that can slightly redeem it, and that is if you have a friend to play it with.The story is dull and uninspiring, the villains are boringly cartoonish, and there is next to no atmosphere. the setting and core concept could have been a great starting point for an immersive survival-horror game, unfortunately Capcom had abandoned this idea, and wouldn't return to it again until the masterpiece that is Resident Evil 7. It is also very hard to feel immersed and tense when the loneliness of the prior games is gone. Co-op can be fun, but it was at the expense of the loneliness that made the earlier (and more recent) games feel so eerie.The gameplay is a little fun though, since it's the same as Resident Evil 4, but it just didn't feel as smooth or as enjoyable to play. The graphics, however, look very good on Xbox One. Perhaps this game will one day get a single-player re-imagining. It is said that the original ideas for this game were very focused on horror, suspense and atmosphere, but the team were pressured into making a co-op action game. Only time will tell if they revisit this chapter, and go with their original ideas, and make it a genuine survival horror masterpiece.

As it stands, these are both really solid ports of some pretty fun video games from the last generation brought to portable life on the Switch. If you’re in the market for more Resident Evil on the go, then you’ll likely want to pick both up when you have a chance.

Even the Switch port isn’t quite as good as RE4’s, running at an inconsistent framerate that never manages to hit 60fps—sometimes not even hitting 30fps. I had a good time playing through a chunk of the game online with a friend, but playing on my own was just dull. It’s probably true that RE5 was never going to live up to RE4’s legacy, but now, a decade after its original release, I think it even fails to live up to its own.

The only thing still attractive about RE5 is Sheva Alomar. Everything else – the design, the mechanics, the visuals (it’s a port, not a remaster) – aged to various degrees, but always noticeably.

While the game still is pretty fantastic, it just does not hold my attention the way it originally did. That’s not saying the game is bad, not in the least. I just played it a ton seven years ago and the remastered version just served me as a reminder of how much fun I had playing the game. Even if it is now outdated.

The work done with this remastered version of Resident Evil 5 is just a little more than enough. We recommend the game only to those who couldn't play it in the past generation and who are looking for a good action game, despite some obsolete mechanics, with an interesting game coop.

As with Resident Evil 6's remaster, Resident Evil 5 adopts 1080p and 60fps (almost always) successfully. Always keeping in mind that it is a game launched in 2009 and it's gameplay mechanics are kind of dated, it can be a good game for those who love non-stop action. There is no survival horror moments, but enough content to be entertained for quite some hours and high-end production values.

Also the framerate is no problem, the engine is very optimized and I can run this maxed out in DX10 easily. The controls aren't that bad, I've played other pc ports like Dead Space, Lost Planet, etc. You should just customize controls or simply learn it. I don't know why others complain about not being able to run and shoot when all the RE games have been like that, and it'll probably stay like that for quite a while.

Resident Evil 5 is "only" an amazing game, a label that the 90% of the third person shooters would want for themselves. The cooperative mode is just sensational and the story mode is plenty filled with non-stop action. The huge amount of contents will make you forget the lack of any kind of innovation in its concept.

Where did this famous horror go? RE5 still could have been a great action game. If only the controls were suited for the action game. Co-op mode is worth trying you can curse level design and A.I. all together.

There a few things that we do not like on the PC (controls for example). But this conversion is a lot better than the catastrophe that Resident Evil 4 was on the PC.

Resident Evil 5 isn't exactly perfect, but it's so close, none of its flaws upset the experience as a whole. Buy it for yourself, but bring a friend for maximum enjoyment.
