Nier replicant 1.22 is a video game remake of Nier replicant from 2010. The game was directed by Yoko Taro who directed Drakengard 1 and 3 and supervised Drakengard 2 and is the creator of the Nier franchise.The story of Nier replicant 1.22 is a well-thought-out story, but with lacking background in the game. The story builds from Drakengard ending E where Angelus and Caim enters a world similar to ours. However, it is not necessary to play Drakengard to enjoy Nier. The story does however fall somewhat as the plot twist is what makes the story deeper than the average Hero story. Together with extra material after ending A and B makes the story more interesting following as more information is uncovered for the player.The characters are fun and interesting part of the game. They add flavour with each other’s personality as they complement each other. They motivate each other and has fun dialogue with each others. Kaine’s intense and foul-mouthed personality together with Emil’s shy and kind-hearted or Kaine and Grimoire Weiss insulting each makes the game funnier and more interesting to play.The music of the game is overall good, with some pieces better than others. One of the better music pieces in the game is Shadowlord. Where the music becomes more intense as the boss fight goes on, causing the flow of the battle in increase. Another well done music piece is the end credits song which has well organized with its instrument and vocals working together to create a melodious music piece.The gameplay of Nier is in my opinion the most boring part of the game. The game combat is average at best, thanks to the magic you can use in the game. The game otherwise a normal hack and slash game where you cut down enemies with different weapons such as swords or spears.

How can this be a RPG if side quest are almost all just poorly designed fetch quest with no motive? How is it open world if the world has nothing to offer exploring? The combat is repetitive and shallow too. After 3 hours of playing I never died again, because by that time I realized most enemies could be knocked down with the lance magic and then killed in one button press.The soundtrack is good and interesting, but forcing players to repeat the second half of the game 4 times with minimal additions to the story will make it so someone trying to like the game will mute the audio, skip all cutscenes(which we’ve seen multiple times by now), and just rush through 4 hours of trivial boss fights to get 5 minutes of now content at the very end.If someone wants to know the lore of the Nier games I would recommend skipping this game and just reading the plot online for a brief idea, it’s not like most of the plot actually matters. It only becomes interesting at the end of each route.

This game put all mainstream studios to shame. If you like deep stories this is a must play, Make sure you beat all the endings, there are tons of stories to bring you to tears.

Graphics are good, solid framerate, musics a very nice though a bit repetitive. Never has a game had such an impact on me, very powerful story, a must play for any ARPG fan.

Even though most of the fans say that automata is much worse than replicant, I don't agree with that. For some reason I just don't get the same chills and existential thoughts that I got after automata. The combat is quite good, but gets a bit annoying after many hours that this game requires you to play. The backtracking and the repetitive aspects of the game are awful. At some point you really get insanely tired of the game.However, even though the game has different problems, overall it is still worth playing. It might give you a lot of things to reconsider.What Taro is doing in his games is actually making the player think about the basic things that we are all so used to. The concepts of life, love, meanings, destiny and others are actually very complex. Taro is trying to push these ideas to their limits. The game will make you think about the stuff that you think is obvious, but actually is not obvious at all. I believe that such stories are the most valuable nowadays.One thing I also really enjoy is that all his stories do not end well. Each quest, each characters' story, each enemy has a sad outcome. Everything in this game has a bad ending. All his stories are followed by loss, pain and death. But what Taro is doing is showing that bad is actually not that bad. We are constantly surrounded by bad things, but they are actually the only thing that makes everything else in our life matter. I think that this is the best way to show beauty. You only start valuing what you have when you lose everything else.

For someone who plays videogames just to have fun, Nier Replicant can be a brutal experience with its slogging pacing and busy work questing design. Behind all that rubble there is an amazing cast of characters that perform in an incredible emotional story, full of great conceptual themes that stick in your heart and mind days after the finale.

Nier Replicant is a chameleon, as its slow start serves as a siren song that leads to explosive emotional crescendos and satisfying narrative payoffs.

No framerate issues. Most games don't run this well and had to bring it up. Yako toru (please tell me I spelled his name right) I am a huge fan of your work and can't wait to see what is in store for us.

Thanks to the extensive remaster, this extraordinary, albeit quirky game is now accessible for a wider audience. Nier: Replicant belongs to a rare breed of RPGs that grip you to the very end.

Toylogic has managed to polish all the areas in which the original title failed, offering this time a practically rounded product, putting the cherry on top of a splendid story and a soundtrack that, for sure, we will listen to outside of the game.

NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139… is a pitch perfect update to one of the greatest stories ever told in the medium. Combat feels fast and fluid, much like players’ tears once they finish the game. The new content feels natural, magic is more useful than ever, and the reprised music and voice over bring the world to life.

A great game to discover (or rediscover) Yoko Taro's world and the atmosphere of the NieR series. The remake work is not among the best and certainly some choices are questionable, such as keeping the tedious fetch quests, but it remains an exciting and valuable epic and that's why it's a recommended game to play.

Blemishes aside, it’s hard to see NieR Replicant ver. 1.22 as anything other than a masterpiece. Beautiful and tragic in equal measures, it’s a feast for the senses, a true epic, and an utterly unforgettable experience.

This game is awesome so far, put in a good 20 hrs its just objectively better that the one we got originally. And the music that they redid is phenomenal with some much emotion just gives me goosebumps every time i hear it. The story and music are what really steals the show overall and the combat overhaul alleviated my biggest criticism of the original and is great this time. I cant wait to get all endings again i detect another game to Platinum :D (Also cant wait for the next game in this fantastic series, and tbh i would take another Drakengaurd as well please )

After a couple of main missions you will notice how yoko taro is starting to play with your feelings, and the side missions start to get interesting too. The music is great, but I think nier automata sounds better (You can unlock the ost of automata after beating the game). there is also skins to put the blindfolds for the characters. Don't expect drastic changes in gameplay like automata( aerial, hacking), replicant is only ground battle, and the ground battle does feel like automata. A welcome revamp to a more than decade-old cult classic, NieR Replicant ver.122474487139... will be equally inviting to Automata fans, NieR veterans, and newcomers alike. Only a lack of variety, a lightweight combat challenge, and disappointing boss encounters put a downer on proceedings.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is one of the most carefully constructed re-releases in recent memory. I was delighted to see just how much of the original experience remained intact, with the bulk of alterations focused on its visuals and combat. While I am happy that NieR: Automata remains a resounding success, its influence over this updated release of NieR hasn’t robbed it of its unique identity; this is, by and large, the NieR that I fell in love with. I think all the new content that has been added to Replicant ver.1.22 is all worth seeing. Looking back at my journey once more with Nier, Kainé, and Emil, I am so happy that one of the most underappreciated games gets another chance to show why it is so special again.

The NieR Replicant remake is an excellent action RPG with one of the best game stories ever and updated combat, but it's not without a few problems.

The NieR franchise has easily become one of my favorites. After NieR Automata, my need to replay the original NieR grew and grew, and thankfully, Square Enix has answered my prayers for an updated version of the original title. NieR: Replicant tells a fantastic story that's carried by great writing and a soundtrack that stops you in your tracks to listen to its incredible melody. The only thing that holds Replicant back from true greatness is its old-school take on fetch quests and the horribly constant backtracking.

Despite some dated shortcomings, this “version upgrade” is more than the sum of its parts. Novel design choices like camera and genre shifts are as impressive today as they were more than 10 years ago. Main characters are dynamic with their own interesting backstories, and the plot is as deliciously devastating as you’d expect. Nier Replicant might not convert players that were turned off by the original or Automata, but there are more than enough quality-of-life updates and story-centric nuances to keep longtime fans and new initiates coming back for subsequent playthroughs.

It would be wrong to say there’s never a dull moment in Replicant then, even if at least some of that dullness is deliberate – a way to emphasize our heroes’ struggles. But at its best, you’ll come to understand why it deserves a second chance.

I'm not going to lie, Nier Replicant made me ugly-cry on several occasions. Kainé, Emil, and Weiss will win your heart with their earnest and endearing personalities, making their tragic journey with you and tremendous story moments hit hard. Despite some significant gameplay enhancements, the lengths you have to go to see the story all the way through will be a test of your willpower. But for all its antiquated designs retained from the original version, it's worth the effort in the end. Thus, Nier Replicant is essential for anyone who has love for Automata, and it's a special experience on its own.

While the game takes a leap in graphical quality, it is more of a short step then a broad jump. Furthermore, Nier Replicant still suffers from the same dull sidequests and the redundant open world it did eleven years ago. However, once you put all this behind you, focus on the fluent combat and enjoy the amazing story, Nier Replicant is a unique experience rarely seen in videogames.
