Overall, MKX is a poor title. At the end of the day you will end up being bored to tears fighting against the same cookie-cutter combos onlineOverall, MKX is a poor title. Medium difficulty is definitely too easy, while hard difficulty reads your inputs even outside the actual gameplay (eg. if you practice input during the loading screen, the AI character will counter it immediately).The game mechanics are still beyond terrible, and the game does a really poor job explaining them (eg. grabs work in absolutely different way than the game informs you). The balance is absolutely off - people will play Scrubpion, Erron, Ermac and few other one overpowered combo characters (punch walk ftw), while some characters are just terribly, terribly weak (Ferra/Tor, Mileena and others).It's a fun game for a while and living towers can deliver few minutes of entertainment. It's a safe bet for 5 €. 50 € - just no.

Netherrealm has taken a number of welcome steps forward with Mortal Kombat X, but no momentum is gathered, because it's stopped in its tracks by an avalanche of needless distractions, some miserable netcode and - oddly, for a game so obsessed with death in all its grisly forms - poor execution of decent ideas.

Mortal Kombat X is the best in the series so far. It offers lots ofthings to do and a game mechanics that are easy to learn but difficultto master. Also the executions are more spectacular then ever before.

MKX will last you for a long time. A few variations of the usual Arcade Mode, some dumb mini-games, online multiplayer, a lengthy story campaign, and, finally, Krypt… Not all changes to gameplay mechanics are obvious, but they do make the game more dynamic.

It’s still the same fun and crazy fighting that demands from the player exactly as much as he wants to give. You can gather your friends and simply mash buttons to enjoy bloody spectacle, or you can spend hours perfecting your techniques to compete with professional players. No matter how you choose to play it, MKX will find something to offer.

It's perfectly brutal fun that will work in the right circle of friends or foes for months. Graphics, combat physics, interaction with the environment, diversity of characters and many more positives make this game an event of this season at least.

(Meanwhile the gore is higher then ever) Well to bad! The direction of MK is going down a dark path, riddled with DLC's and poor story direction, MK is heading for some rough roads ahead... WB will squeeze every nickel and dime out of the series.On the plus side, the graphics are good, an improvement over MK9 (However, many of the characters look terrible close up in the face regions, just the geometry of there face is off.) and the combat is pretty amazing (Even if there's a lack of rings, and no ring fatalities)So even the good has bad in it. I would say pass on this game.

Mortal Kombat X is easily the pinnacle of Mortal Kombat, building on every improvement the series made in 2011, adding depth to the main fighter and delivering advancement to the modes that only NetherRealm could offer.

It's visually better, richer in content and more comprehensive in terms of gameplay compared to its predecessor. It will definitely make you spend time with it until the arrival of MK XI.

I'm not sure how it compares to 9's gameplay but other reviews are suggesting it's improved.Fighting-wise it seems to be like the old Tekken games. One button for each hand one button for each leg. X-ray attacks look awesome. Some of the fatalities are incredible. Brutalities are back and are a lot of fun.Online play seems to be hit or miss. I'm wireless and haven't have any connectivity issues, but opponent quality is all over the place. The 5 factions for online play are a good idea in practice but don't seem to be great in reality because so many people just pick the same one or two. The "Faction Kill" fatalities that are introduced are mostly mediocre.Story-wise, you can beat the story in a couple hours, but it is really well-done. Good cinematics, and a good way to learn how to use some of the new characters as well as to play some of the older characters.The re-done Krypt is awesome and worth exploring for unlockables and there are a few surprises in it to keep you paying attention.Overall the game is awesome, plays great, good level interaction in every stage. My only real issue with it is several characters who are in 9, living or dead don't make an appearance outside of NPC status in the story or as opponents in the story and will likely be pay-to-play at some point. Some of my favorite characters are unplayable because of this. There's really no real reason to do that besides a money-grab. AI seems to be VERY noticeably different on each difficulty (stick to medium if you're average), and the final boss in the storymode's ending and at the end of the Klassic Tower is a little overpowered but not to the point where it's unbeatable, you just have to be smart.

Not a komplete katastrophe, but you should employ kaution when deciding if Mortal Kombat X is right for you on PC. It's a great game, but one that's krippled by bugs.

Overall, Mortal Kombat X is great. The small improvements in the fighting system make a huge difference for the better, and the new fighters feel like they fit perfectly with the old cast.

Mortal Kombat X is furthering the story that was presented in Mortal Kombat 9. New characters, graphics and combat system is changing everything you know about Mortal Kombat universe. It's one of the best fighting games we have seen so far.

On the other side specializations are adding nice touch, story is catchy, new characters are very good (that was my biggest fear before release) and overall I'm very happy about the game.

Its technically precise gameplay, lean storyline and gruesomely gorgeous graphics run circles around the previous entries in the series. To be honest, this could have been a perfect game if it didn’t feel like NetherRealm was constantly trying to get me to spend extra money on it.

Although you can't escape it, Mortal Kombat X's violence doesn't come at the cost of great gameplay design; it's either your punishment for failure, or your reward for mastering the art of kombat.

The X Ray moves are great to pull off as are the finishing moves.The graphics look great, the story keeps it interesting and it is genuinely fun to play with the moves not too hard to pull off after a bit of time.

Not only does it add another wrinkle of strategy to each fight, it's also helping to minimize cheapness and spamming in versus matches. While in MK9 you could take certain characters and spam their cheap moves to death, MKX has far better balance because there seem to be clear pros and cons to each style. I'm really appreciating that balance.I also tip my cap to the day one release being smooth on the server side. I was able to hop online and play without any issues on the first day, which we've seen plenty of titles fail recently doing that smoothly.The faction alliance, living towers, and krypt are all great additions as well and add daily, monthly, goals that you can work on or continuing unlocking new skins, fatalities etc... Personally, I like that touch because it feels like you're earning your gear similar to an RPG.The story mode for me is sub-par -- it's actually the weakest part of the game, but that's just my opinion. The reason being that while it's cool to get a "taste" of every character, it's really annoying to just get the hang of a character's kombos and special moves only to be thrown to a totally new character. As of now, the game is unplayable. More than half the things on the main menu and sub menus are locked in red not allowing you to play it. YouAs of now, the game is unplayable. The reason is they said its going to be a stream download. This is the first time steam is doing it where the game downloads for 3 gigs. Then when you get in game, a pop up message will say there will be a background download for dlc which is all that locked stuff you see. The problem everyone is having is that that background download is not starting so were all stuck with an unplayable game. If you click any of the practice options or single fight, the game will just crash without any error message like you meant to close it. I will update the score once it gets fixed.

Mortal Kombat X offers the best story mode I've ever personally seen in a fighting game. Its cohesive plot and extended cinematics makes you feel much more like a participant in a film than a player on the couch. The fighting is frantic, fluid, and dynamic, with the glorious goriness of the X-Ray moves often turning the tides of battle.
