Well worth your time if you want a survival shooter that lacks the more annoying "survival features" like hunger and thirst. You'll pay attention mainly just to your gas mask in order to avoid excessive radiation on the surface and use bullets as a currency to buy other things you need while continuing along a linear, but well-designed path towards the story's conclusion.

I got it and immediately tried it with my friends on discord,and what we found was one of our favourite franchises of all time (at least me and one of the friends, the others just liked Metro 2033 and left).We were charmed by the atmosphere,dark and gritty, miserable-feeling people everywhere, despair all over,by the amazing immerson that truly made me forget i was behind a keyboard and,most importantly, it s story and characters that might not seem special,but i got attached to everyone that i crossed paths with (Khan, Bourbon,etc.).The gameplay,is not perfect,but realyyyyyyy good: trying to scavenge as much ammo as you can,trade high-grade bullets for other thing you might need,wandering in the dark hearing noises,not knowing when you ll get ambushed.I keep hearing about all these tehnical issues and bugs that this game suffers from,but,get this,in my WHOOOOOLE JOURNEY, i only encountered a small AI error from a mutant (can t remember its name) and that also IMMEDIATELY solved by itself.Also,one big part of Metro 2033 is its paranormal events.This game really likes to play with your mind because of all the flashback sequences and constant feeling of dread.What i hate the most about this game...is not the game, but instead the big companies that can t see how this game truly shines, scoring for them at a maximum of 8.5,which is truly dissapointing.I m not any expert of sorts but this game alone,with all it s characteristics i just described above,made me pick for a project to read the original novel by Dmitry Gluhovsky,and i absolutely love that too.Metro 2033 is an absolute MASTERPIECE in my opinion,deserving more attenrion and love because everything it has to offer.

It is a little bit hard to play and a lot of stressed situations even on Normal level although it is very linear. Wanted to quit it a few times because of this.Took 15 hours for me to finish with some additional locations exploration.Levels load time is ok. Got a few bugs in the game like stucked in the wall or dropped off of the game with some error message from Switch. The game will take ZERO additional space on your device if you bought a physical copy which is great as a lot of games like Assassin’s Creed or Bioshock will download additional 5-10 GB of content.

Focusing on combat in a game like Metro 2033 is kind of missing the point. You’re here to survive to see the next day, not go in with guns blazing and rack up body counts. It’s a dark, tension-filled experience, and it’s well worth checking out on the Switch if you haven’t yet had a chance to play it.

I have not been captivated by any game as well as Metro 2033 Redux has. The conversation with other people and the character of Artyom are both relatable and a reminder of the hopeless determination of humans. And, of course, the guns are awesome.

While certainly an interesting game, Metro 2033 won’t be for every first-person shooter fan. However, if you enjoy a more thought provoking, story-driven adventure you’ll most likely enjoy yourself. With all of the game’s DLC included, there’s a good amount of content to keep you busy.

Metro 2033 Redux is a top-class first-person shooter/survival horror game, a breathless experience that's been almost flawlessly ported to Switch by 4A Games. Artyom's desperate, haunting voyage through the irradiated remains of Moscow is every bit as engaging today as it was when it first released back in 2010, and this Redux version benefits massively from overhauled AI, gameplay mechanics and visuals. In terms of first-person shooters or survival horror games on Nintendo's console, this is one of the very best.

Although it was released a few years ago, it is a unique game in which any fan should get lost. Its tension, its atmosphere, its action and its story are great. This Nintendo Switch version, although with very small issues, is extraordinary.

Everything looks so much better then i could have imagined after only having seen screenshots before I bought the game. Regardless of how much brighter the underworld is then the original the Librarian sequence is and I swear to god just as scary if not scarier then the original. I have a pretty sweet asus sound card for my Sennheiser HD 598 head phones. The sounds in this game are so creepy at times that I had to take my headphones off and switch over to my speakers. This was due to i was jumping and turning around way to often like a **** The audio bump from Metro 2033 to Redux is amazing although it does take a decent open ear headset with a soundcard to truly enjoy. My daughter walking on squeaky floorboards above me was often mistaken for in game sound that's how unbelievably clear it is. Most scenes are startling however this game does throw you into a ton of run for your life moments especially in the harder difficulties on Survival mode. Survival mode really does make you think hard about your weapon setups which to me adds a whole new level of tension. Out of ammo = run and hope u can get to the next objective which happened to me frequently LOL. Metro 2033 Redux is remaking done right. This isn’t a cash in in any way shape or form. It’s simply a much better version of the original Metro. It’s a perfect purchase for either newbies who haven’t experienced the first game, or vets who want to experience the game again in a brand new light.

This is the finest available version of an excellent, atmospheric game. It's still not perfect, but the Redux version irons out a significant number of weaknesses, adding some of Last Light's improved mechanics while also providing a welcome layer of visual polish.
