The best mode is franchise. The season is so fun to play through, on any difficulty, and has spectacular features. It is like an update, and not a full new game, but it is a good game still.

There was some definite cheese talk but I was genuinely liking the story until it forgot about me and forced me to retire with nothing to show for it at 37. Oh I did get the repetive SuperBowl celebrations with those underwhelming commentators. You get MVP, break every record and the commentators will say the same effin things. You can go to Ultimate team and pay to win or grind these tedious challenges and get so little for them. Superstar KO is not what I was looking for. I just want a real football experience. PLEASE

The madden community is sick and tired of the ignoring of major issues/ lack of features, in favor of the virtual gambling targeted towards children in “Ultimate Team.” For a company that makes billions of dollars they basically release an updated roster dlc with only new features that change nothing about the horrific gameplay issues. There is no skill in this game it is all about running the “money” plays that are basically impossible to counter unless you yourself are running glitch plays. A sad fall from glory that was the 2k football games.

I got the game basically for free (I have Origin Plus) and i still felt ripped off. To be fair, i don't play MUT so I can't tell you if that part of the game is any better, but the franchise and QB1 modes are **** terrible. Nothing about QB1 makes any sense or has any depth, and the franchise mode's only 'new feature' is the scenario generator that sucked so bad it had to be disabled by patch.

Madden NFL 20 is not a promised breakthrough, just a good enough game with some novel ideas, dumb defensive AI and the abysmally awful Face of the Franchise.

It might look like a game of football from afar, but it just doesn't play like one. Factor in EA's constant obsession with trying to get you to spend money in Ultimate Team - a mode that numerous governments are looking into as a devious ploy to get kids hooked on gambling - and you have a very poor football game that doubles as a slot machine.

If EA wanted to do something revolutionary with the series, it would have offered Madden NFL 20 as a roster and feature update to Madden NFL 19. Not because there isn’t an enjoyable, playable game here, but because Madden NFL 20 is just more of the same when the series should be making strides toward true greatness.

Madden NFL 20 have improved almost in every aspect. The core gameplay is still very good and challenging, maybe even too much so.

Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).

While this headline addition only applies to the sport’s biggest superstars, it injects new life into the on-field action. The new QB1 campaign may have potential in the future, but in its current guise it’s a step back from the Longshot story explored in previous entries, while the fan-favourite Franchise mode continues to see neglect. Ultimate Team is unquestionably the series’ underlying bread-and-butter, and with tons of new challenges to complete, it’s sure to become your new obsession as American football’s 100th season gets underway – just be wary of investing too much money into the mode.

Thanks to the MUT and Franchise gamemodes, the game offers a great density and an immersive experience, with a solid technical aspect. Unfortunately, the story mode, this year, isn't better than the Longshot mode that we saw on last year's edition.

Simply put, Madden NFL 20 just isn’t all that enjoyable as a whole. Gameplay still has unfixed issues that have been prevalent for years and Franchise is still lacking the complete overhaul and player control it’s needed for years. Face of the Franchise is a total flop, serving as more proof that it’s time for EA to give up cinematic sports stories. Sure, Ultimate Team got some needed improvements and some X-Factors are fun to mess around with – but this year is more proof than ever that Madden needs a serious overhaul in nearly every aspect.

I like aspects of Madden 20 like the addictiveness and slightly easier progression of Ultimate Team, the way players feel, and the new abilities. But too much remains stagnant and unchanged. It’s like expecting a few free agents to change the course of an entire organization when there are key areas the franchise needs to have addressed yesterday. Instead, its roster has gotten old fast and the problems are mounting.

Madden NFL 20 maintains important elements of previous deliveries, but it is still an experience of contrasts with successes and specific errors that may change in the future. Despite this, it is a good football game that will keep fans entertained throughout the season.

Madden NFL 20 might just be the series' best outing to date. Between a less-oppressive Ultimate Team Mode, an excellent player career mode, and more exciting on-the-pitch plays it offers a whole lot of excellent content. Minor tweaks aside, Franchise mode could do with some love next year, but it isn't enough to dull these Friday Night Lights (sorry).

The QBs now throw the ball with much more arc in their passes which improves a lot of issues. Franchise mode has become much more diverse and emmersive without the new engines.

Madden 20 is back. As every summer, football fans have the opportunity to enjoy their favorite sport in a virtual way. In this case, EA brings us an iteration which has enough new additions to keep us playing for several hours. On the down side, we will miss important modes such as Longhorn and more news in franchise mode.

However it got here, it’s a distilled, slightly faster game that focuses on ironing out its rough spots rather than introducing anything that could cause new ones. And as much as we love the spectacle of an attempt at interactive story or the novelty of a quirky new side mode, enhancing the part people actually play could be of more long-term value.

Madden NFL 20 is the worst major sports league video game out there. Despite some despicable microtransaction design, NBA 2K is an exponentially better representation of its real-life counterpart and has an ever-improving Franchise mode that offers real depth and year-over-year growth. MLB: The Show is the blueprint of excellence for which other sports titles should be judged. Save your money for a series that still respects its fans. 4/10 butt fumbles.

Will hardcore Maddenites have a blast with all the new gameplay toys they have at their disposal? Absolutely. Do I think casual Madden fans need to rush out and buy this edition? Probably not. Madden 20 is a fine game, but it’s definitely an iterative version that doesn’t do enough to stand out from last year’s game.

Whether it's the X-Factors, new Face of the Franchise mode, or even signature player animations, Madden NFL 20 feels more true to life than ever before. The lack of advancement in core areas such as presentation and Franchise Mode, however, hold this edition back from being the complete package.
