You might need a little bit of prior knowledge to be able to play this game correctly. I really recommend this game, and I can't wait for the second version.

I bought the Xbox One X due to the large amount of dedicated GPU and now it feels like I am trying to play on an old 360. Thanks for ruining one of the few games that relaxes me and helps with my PTSD anxiety attacks.

I have over 1,000 hours on the PC version of Kerbal and it is an extreme blast. This PS4 game had potential. I got it because I love my PS4 and my computer is getting old. Played it all weekend and despite the poor reviews, it worked very well. Then, after several hours of work in career mode (taking care not to make ships with very many parts and tempt the game to break) the game crashes and all my saved data is erased. I waited two months for a patch or update but even after the PC 1.2 update there is no PS4 update (there is one for Xbox One but it seems to not be working either). This game can be enjoyable but you can only play for about an hour at a time before it crashes and erases your saves. I just tried to get a refund from the PlayStation story but they won't do it after 30 days so if you do get it and this save wipe issue occurs, get your money back quickly!

A complete wipe is catastrophic if you're trying to do anything more than orbit and (if you're lucky) land on the Mun. Space stations, satellites, science all get wiped. It is even more frustrating in career mode, which is effectively non-playable in its current iteration. An update fixing this issue would result in a 9/10 review from me, but I can't get behind this current version. Back to the PC for me.

What I can't overlook, however, is all the evidence that no matter how great Kerbal Space Program may be on PC, it just doesn't belong on consoles.

I had moments of full-on childlike wonder playing KSP, and for astrophysics nerds this game has no equal, but this awful port of a great PC game is too unstable to play at length. I hope it gets patched, because a functional version of this game deserves a 9/10. I've had it a month now, and still no patch.

It's not occasional either, it's pretty much every 20 minutes for me. Totally unplayable. Someone at Sony or flying tiger, must have known they were releasing the game in this state. Shame on them, I have already asked for a full refund. When it is fixed, I will be really excited to give it another try.

Kerbal Space Program is a fantastic game but one that you should play on PC. I can forgive some of the control issues because of the limitations of the platform but we’ve seen other developers do intuitive controls for games designed initially for PC like Divinity: Original Sin and even Blizzard’s Diablo III. Imagine buying a great physics text book but only being able to read it while using oven mitts to turn the pages. That is Kerbal Space Program on PlayStation 4.

Console gamers will be pleased with the experience and it seems like the Xbox One port was designed for new players in mind. I would definitely recommend it because the sheer enjoyment you get out of Kerbal Space Program overcome its problems.

Main issues: controls are horrid. You can tell it's made for a PC when there's a mouse cursor on the screen that you move around. The font size is ridiculously small for ise on a console and the Windows have to be dragged put of the way during the tutorial. I mean seriously.. they couldn't even be bothered to make sure their tutorial windows weren't in the way of the actions you need to take. For anyone wanting to play this game, grab it on PC as it is amazing. Otherwise wait until they fix these issues or be aware of them before buying this game.

That this highly complex simulation appears on consoles, is remarkable. But with its unoptimized and overloaded pad controls the challenge to make progress and eventually get into space is even higher then on PC.

Despite some serious design flaws, a few bugs and a neglected presentation, Kerbal Space Program remains as a unique proposition for young astronomers, sci-fi fans and space enthusiasts out there. The sheer amount of content, the level of realism, the scope and depth of the game offset the shortcomings but just barely. The port could've been so much better, though.

For instance, if someone gave me a proposal for sending a small craft to our moon, (with a little digging) I could probably tell you if the plan would work or not. You don't often get the sense of achievement and exploration Kerbal Space Program offers for its price-tag. After you manage to get around the learning curve you'll find an immensely educational and fun game. You can't truly call yourself a space enthusiast and miss out on that one. After all, how hard can rocket science be?

When I got the game in 2012, The first thing I did was to crash my rocket into the ground (Not intentionally), later of course was to get a rocket to land into the mun, it took me 1 week trying to not crash into the mun, Later I didn't know what to do, and I would quit playing, but later an idea came into my head that I would love to try it out, and most of the time it didn't work, but that didn't stop me cause I just knew it could be done. And I kept playing until new updates came and I saw how the game changed and just new ideas came into my head. I must have spent at least 1000 hours in this game just doing stuff that I knew it could work, when you see this potential of time you realize this game its really what I would call a sandbox, doing things because you want. I can't say that this game is perfect I used to play with mods, BTW the community is awesome, speaking of science in the forums is quite nice, I also got to say that I love science, that's why I am studying a career related with it. Going back to the game the Kerbals are Hilarious, the science mechanics and career mode are quite nice, even tough it could be better, and just because its released doesn't mean it can't have updates, the team is committed into make a nice game. Finally I don't think all people will agree in my position, its not a game for everybody, its quite unique, and because of that I give it a nice score, just because its a really original game that people from all ages like. If you've ever had any interest in planning or flying semi-realistic space missions, you should try this game. I'm among those that have played this game for thousands of hours, and I can still find interesting things to do. On the other hand, it doesn't have a campaign, even in career mode you don't get goals forced on you other than "don't go broke."
