It's something different to play with friends, not the best made game but makes up for it with it's different perspective and just pure fun.It's something different to play with friends, not the best made game but makes up for it with it's different perspective and just pure fun. My main reason was to play something with friends and ps4 is very limited in that regard it's a good alternative for all the other shooter that are basically new skin every year like COD and BF. So if you looking for different kind of game to play with friends then this might be a game for you, although not the easiest to get the hang of and PC is filled with diehard so recommend ps4 version.

I would love to see a 'performance' setting in the future.Played even more, currently lvl 44 bloodline. The more of the game you uncover, the more fun it gets. I got used to the slow gameplay. The fights are even more crispier because of that. The satisfaction of landing a headshot is unfathomable. It is not yet another survival horror game, it's a unique masterpiece.Please try it yourself. Amazing game.Edit: I played hundreds of hours of this and loved most of it. Lots of fine memories now.

The game is a very good idea with a ton of poor design decisions that hold it back. There is some moments that are fun but most of the game is frustrating because of the poorly thought out decisions by the developers. Wait till you can get the game for $15

Even free battle royal games are better then this 40 euro game. SHAME ON CRYTEK last time i buy anything from these developers.

The game atmosphere is a 10, but the clunky controls, pc minded menu and long load times will likely kill this game off quickly on console. It could be a great game if they would have ported it right but as it is right now it's a terrible port and probably the clunkiest controls I've ever used in a shooter game on PS4, it was designed on PC first and they didn't implement any changes aimed towards console and so it feels like a cash grab in that sense. There is fun to be had but it's not worth the full price of admission.

I'll admit I wasn’t keen on Hunt: Showdown to start with, but after the first few matches I realised there's something special here. This is an unusual entry in a genre ruled by far snappier shooters, and it takes time to get your head around Crytek's clever twist on the formula. Stick with it and you'll be rewarded with a uniquely engrossing multiplayer experience.

While Hunt: Showdown gives players a high caliber atmosphere to play in, the steep learning curve and difficulty for new players to survive encounters with veterans may give it problems in gathering a larger player base.

HUNT: Showdown has the potential to be one of the very best FPS/horror games out there, but the initial content is not enough to keep the player engaged for long periods of time.

Hunt: Showdown is perfect for gamers who are in it for the long haul. Those that love the rush of endorphins that come with a long-sought-after victory, and who are okay with death after death after near-victory after dumb mistake/disconnection/other tragedy that hinders an otherwise flawless ascent towards the next bloodline level.

Hunt could have been so much more. As a hypothetical single player game, in which you carefully research a mark as you make your way through a deep south Gothic nightmare towards the final, hellish, confrontation, Hunt could have been something truly special. But commercial reality won't allow for that. Multiplayer shooters and content-driven live services are where the money's at, and in chasing the money Crytek has produced something that's a whole lot of fun to play, but ultimately shallow, vapid, and a complete waste of all the effort that went into the theme and design of the thing.

With its evocative setting and a delectable mix of PvE and PvP gameplay that provides a peerless theater for emergent player stories, Hunt: Showdown is an exceptionally clever and thoughtful shooter that elevates the genre as a whole. I can see Hunt Showdown being a fixture of my gaming diet for months, even years to come.

The PS4 version is very close to the PC version even if it a bit less impressive visually. There are a few graphic bugs on the water surfaces, nothing really bad. Whether it's for matchmaking or framerate, the experience is complete. Clearly the best co-op FPS of 2019.

Hunt Showdown is a tactical shooter like no other you´ve ever played. It delivers a great balance between fights, horror elements, stealth... set in 19th century Louisiana. On the downside there is no single player mode and we encountered some problems with matchmaking.

Hunt: Showdown is a good multiplayer proposal that mixes the environment and the competition together with the cooperation in an intelligent way. Its atmosphere and sound immerse you from the first moment and its first hours impact and attract. However, the scarcity of playable modes and the existence of legendary hunters and weapons will make you look away from the experience after a few hours. He is not an essential multiplayer, but somehow he manages to be appealing and offer a different experience within his potential market.

An incredibly tense survival horror multiplayer FPS, where you are just as likely to die at the hands of a monster as you are another player. Listening out for enemy activity is crucial, and once you learn how all of its systems work Hunt: Showdown is a an extremely satisfying game.

The learning curve is a bastard and, while the matchmaking is generally pretty good in terms of finding you opponents, you’re going to die again and again, in awful and hideous ways. It’s grim and beautiful, with no single-player mode outside of the tutorial. And if that sounds awesome – and honestly it is – then you know what to do.

The game is extremely competitive and difficult and takes a lot more time to understand than people who have given it poor reviews even bothered to play . Any review that mentions fighting bosses as a main draw clearly hasn't played much since bosses can be dispatched in a few minutes with the right weapons . As you fight enemies the game gives you info on them , including their weaknesses. The main draw is beating a boss or waiting while someone else does to then grab the token and escape . Hard part is that everyone still playing can see your location and may start to hunt you down as well as try and kill any team that gets in their way . The game will sometimes put 2 bosses on a single map and you have to decide which one you want to try and get first or wait till someone else starts to then shoot them up during a boss fight . The weapons and gear you unlock is fantastic but you can still make due with basic stuff if you are smart . When you extract you get 2x experience and are able to add perks to your character. The awesome part is that you can gave a high level character die and have to start from scratch.

While it’s come a long way since I played it in its first iteration from Game Preview, it still feels as though something is missing. Maybe I’m just not a fan of the forced PvP elements, as I’ve died to other players much more than any boss or monster in the game. Yes, that’s part of the experience, but it would have been a less frustrating experience if I was at least paired up with players of equal skill and level, not those that have done it all. There’s obviously a following, but with a PvP-less option, I know I would have stuck around longer with some friends trying to collect those bounties.

The great strengths of Hunt: Showdown are the terrific sound design and the cool gameplay, which focuses on stealth and tactics.

Its world is magnificently detailed, the story is fascinating and while the bones may not have much meat on them for now, Hunt: Showdown is showing some promising signs of fattening up as it doubles down on adding to its creepy world.

Hunt: Showdown is an amazing game and I’m glad Crytek have persevered over the years because this needed to happen. Anyone with a fetish for horror should pick up this title. The stealth and PvPvE work well and the game feels like a shot of adrenaline when a gunfight breaks out between players.

Hunt: Showdown doesn’t try to do a lot of things beyond its core mission, and the challenging gameplay and limited selection of maps — though they are expansive and interesting — might be a barrier to long-term enjoyment. Assuming the developers keep infusing the game with content, Hunt: Showdown is a fresh take on the genre that has already become a bit stale.

Hunt: Showdown is a little bit DayZ, a little bit PUBG and a little bit Resident Evil. This initial release is strong, with plenty of room to expand. Eventually, new maps, weapons and enemy types will be needed to maintain interest. Hunt: Showdown may not technically be a battle royale game, but it shares enough of the genre’s DNA that I wouldn’t be surprised to see a battle pass in the near future.

Like the bayou, the game first appears sort of quaint, unique, and interesting to explore. But below the surface, once you get into the thick weeds of it, you end up feeling like there's plenty of places you'd wish to have traveled.

Despite the courageous setting choices and high standards, Hunt: Showdown is an exceptional shooter that occupies its own small niche in times of dwindling Battle Royale hype with innovative ideas and perfection of balanced gameplay.
