FO4 is the DragonAge2 of Fallout Games. it is supposed to be a better version of all previous Fallout games, and the only thing it did better was actual combat. Sadly every other aspect of previous Fallout games (dialogue, choices, skills/perks, characters depth, weapons) is either severely degraded or completely removed.just another brick in Bethesda's wall of "over-simplifying games in hope of attracting more buyers", which does not seem to be working as well as they hoped. bethesda did not even learn from FO4, they actually released the worst game of the year (Fallout 76) and added very greedy anti-consumer features into it.

As many people already noted here, Fallout is all about the choice and it is basically absent in this instance. All you do is kill kill kill. Kill everyone. You just grind through the main quest by shooting everything you see. You encounter a few interesting situations during the game which eventually turn into a shoot out anyway. The base building part which was so much advertised essentially is DOA. This Fallout is basically brain dead.

They give you so many options like building your own town but its pointless since they do not give you any reward having an epic town worste theres no quest involving this, and that is just an exemple of many things they developped but did not use well.When I first played I thought this was an unbelivable game then after 25 hours when I decided to go threw the main mission I realised ''well that's it'' I completed all the side quests in 25 hours, except for the minor ones. I spent hundred of hours playing Skyrim and this is only a mere 30 hours to complete pretty much everything.The perk system is just boring. It seems you have a lot to unlock until you realise 75% of the perks are pointless.Buy it under 40$ it is still a pretty good 25 hours of play time which is better than a lot of games.

A strong return for the franchise, boasting incredible customisation, a fascinating world and brutal yet brainy shooting, slightly tarnished by lacklustre AI and tedious inventory management.

The game's music is perfectly set for the different situations you find yourself in. It's suitably dramatic in the big fight scenes and similarly soft when you get to a more emotional part. Whilst not at the forefront of your attention, the music is always there and sometimes you won't even notice it until it goes silent. Your heart might be in your mouth as you hack a computer or lockpick a door with enemies nearby, and the music will do a great job to reflect exactly how you are feeling.

After 200 years in cryostasis you will find everything in ruins, beasts and monsters (human and nonhuman alike) run amok and there are more weapons than in a Michael Bay movie. In short it is a vivid world to explore in which no one can hold a decent dialogue.

Trying to interact with characters or skip there same convo is a pain as well. Will have to wait for them to finish the game with patches before I play again.

Even if you don't like the plot, think the graphics are weak, and think that game was over hyped, it is far from a 0.... The world is huge, and there is endless things to do. I'm having a lot of fun with it. Is it the best game of the year? No, I can think of a few titles I liked better, including Metal Gear, but it's a lot of fun!.

Bethesda has laid solid and at times spectacular groundwork for an awesome game. I look forward to another developer building on it.

The main story from my experience is better than the side quests which historically (from what I hear) has not been the case.Cons:-BUGS!! So much bugs. Frame rate stutters during action. Once I tried to do a running jump during a gun fight and I bugged out and went sideways. Aiming gets reaaal frustrating because of this.-No auto-aim correction on a console fps. I suppose it's because they have vats. You can use vats to aim at a person, exit vats, and then start shooting but it's not as good as an auto-aim correction.-This is just my opinion but I don't find this world very fun to explore. Oh, there's a building? I wonder what's in it. Probably a bunch of enemies just like every other building in the game!Conclusion: It's not great. It's not changing the landscape of video games like people, perhaps wrongfully, thought it would. It's just a good game. Honestly if the bugs were gone and there was an auto-aim correction I would probably give this game an 8/9. Or if I played it on the PC I would have probably gave this game an 8/9. So if you have a supped up PC get this game for that instead.

The target audience is people who think role-playing is to select one choice in dialogue of four options to get exactly the same outcome regardless of choice. The linear story is forced on you because Bethesda for some reason wanted to tell their own story even though they don't have any story worth telling. The writing is so horrid it would have been better to hire a random stranger off the street to write for them.I could write a better story right now and so could you. It requires anti-talent to write such cringeworthy tripe as the dialogue and main quest for Fallout 4. They removed player freedom so they could force their victims, a.k.a customers, to suffer through their abysmal lack of talent for writing.The map is the size of DLC content. They did not want players to have anything to do except to suffer their story. That is the whole point of Fallout 4. The only good thing is that the 10mm pistol looks better now. The modding community will not be able to save this disaster.

It looks fantastic.-For the first time in a Bethesda game you can create a Skinny, Muscular, or Fat character.-The animations are really slick, the best I've seen from Bethesda so far.-The gunplay feels nice and tight, and you now have the option to melee attack with firearms.-There's tons of crafting in the game from cooking to chemistry to upgrading gear to building.-Different armor is available for each limb, it's not just bodysuits like in Fallout 3.-The perk chart is well done and perks have requirements before they can be levelled up.

In the strategy guide there's roughly 150 quests and I estimate the map is about as big as skyrim's, but there seems to be a higher density of areas to explore with fewer mountains and whatnot in the way to make the map feel bigger than it actually is.In comparison to previous Fallouts people keep saying it isn't a big step up. I disagree with them, but I will admit the facial expression are a bit stiff and lip syncing is a tiny bit off. Some people dislike the aesthetics of the game because they went with a much more punchy and bright color pallet rather than just make everything poop brown and puke green like Fallout 3. I actually enjoyed the more colorful environments.Looking at the pc specs this game is technically graphically superior to any other game out right now even if some people are saying the graphics are not very good. I honestly thought the graphics looked amazing, but I'm just putting it out there that not everybody shares my opinion and some people think games like Witcher 3 actually have better graphics. Personally, I don't think it should matter all that much because it's really about gameplay, not graphics.Gameplay wise what Fallout 4 brings to the table over previous games is a vastly improved combat system, much better balance regarding things like stimpacks and perks, and overall more challenge on higher difficulties. Gun play feels almost exactly like Call of Duty instead of very stiff and clunky like New Vegas. You definitely will feel noticeable improvements on how guns and things handle regarding sight clarity, draw animations, sway, recoil, and smoothness adjusting aim. Movement also feels more in line with Call of Duty. Sprint is in the game and is balanced by taking away action points to use in vats, a great mechanic imo that adds more fluidity and better pacing to everything. In other words you no longer have to worry about slowly plodding from one area to the next making for less overall downtime to deal with.What this game offers over Destiny, which probably it's main competition atm is a much more engaging story and much much more content than Destiny could ever hope to deliver. I mean in comparison I finished Destiny including all story missions, all strikes, and the two raids in about 20 hours. The story missions in the vanilla game itself you could easily get through in about 5 hours. Even if all 150 quests take a half hour each you are still talking about 75 hours of content to go through so even the most viscous haters on here would have to admit at minimum this game at least offers a lot in quantity of content even if one could make an argument about the quality of it.Sound wise Fallout 4 offers MUCH more voice actors than previous games leading to much more variations in how npcs interact. Games like Elder Scrolls online will recycle the same voice actors. It's not like that in this game. I also enjoyed how gun sounds have much more "oomph" than Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Everything sounded like it really had impact and the blood splatter in response seemed really satisfying. Unfortunately, didn't like the music track in the game so far, but oh well.People on here are complaining about very specific nitpicky issues with the game like for instance the facial expression/lip syncing issue, a few specific non game breaking bugs, color aestetics, and blah, blah, blah.All I got to say is please examine the facts for yourself. Some of the characters look like last-gen, but no worse than Skyrim did. It's still effective. The framerate is fine on Xbox, it's a bit cinematic, but it really works with what they're going for. So far all the reviews seem a bit picky. This is better than Witcher 3, less glitchey and buggy, although centering on and selecting items is a bit wonky.The plot is surprisingly deep. There is a definite sense of loneliness in the wasteland. And it really doesn't look like Fallout 3. This is more of suburbia turned wasteland. Fallout 3 was just pure open-space wasteland, like 'The Road'. You explore empty houses and gas stations.So far so good.

At some point, I just want the games to work reliably. Fallout 4 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors, which is to say that it's a large, sprawling world filled with so many different quests and locations that most players will miss entire subplots as they scavenge their way from one side of the world to the other. That's also to say that it's occasionally kind of broken, from performance issues specific to the console versions to scripting glitches that might just prevent you from progressing to the same sort of "physics gone wild" moments that make for killer animated gifs and such.

The problem comes from the fact that this feels like more of the same, not a step forward. Fallout 4 doesn't break the same new ground Fallout 3 did with its jump to 3D, and its storytelling and intricacy of choice falls short of what New Vegas offered...Fallout 4 just feels safe, even when trying new things.

Fallout 4 makes you say goodbye to the rest of the world and immerse yourself in its universe for hours and hours. Its powerful virtues compensate for its obvious shortcomings.

It really does feel like Fallout 3 with slightly nicer graphics and a few mods (like “homebase customization”) thrown in, and while Fallout 4 has everything that made the last game great it has all the weaknesses too, like a terrible inventory menu, stiff character models, interior locations requiring loading screens, and more. Fallout 4 is an amazing game that I doubt anyone will be disappointed by, but it’s not unique. And I still prefer New Vegas.
