I really can't find any serious flaws in the game. And especially I do not understand why it has such low ratings. If you like games about space - play it for sure! Do A Barrel Roll!!

Chorus is a surprisingly traditional space combat game with great combat and an engaging, if dry, story. No multiplayer nonsense, no ship skins, no in-game purchases just a solid single player space shooter and we're here for that all day, every day.

Learning curve is perfect for my taste.You really need to get comfortable with using all buttons at the same time in this game. It is really demanding, but it feels so responsive that it stays fair and therefore it is so exciting to win a large scale fight. Perfect example of high difficulty but top notch execution, which makes it fair.I also love how they mix space sci fi with an emotional story. There are so many details to experience.Now if you could step out of your fighter and actually walk around the space station,.. that would be over the top. But i love this game for its gameplay and design.

The gameplay is smooth and satisfying, after you get used to the drifting mechanic and get some powers, fights become a blast and a real power trip - you can turn around and shoot the enemies chasing you while speeding past turrets, teleport behind a gunship and disable it with a lighting strike, and charge up a missile cluster to blow it up to kingdom come. It's great!The environment is very well designed, you get put in a somewhat big maps with a lot of side content to explore and 2-3 longer main missions. The skyboxes look incredible, and the artstyle really shines through the enemy design.The main story took a bit of a backseat for me, though it is still fairly entertaining and engaging. I mainly focused on the side mission storylines, which can be very interesting - an abandoned space station with only a couple of drones left standing, a mysterious vessel with a corpse of a famous explorer, a corrupted ancient AI trapped in a lightning storm. They're all fantastic.I really enjoy the game so far, at the time of publishing I have around 15 h in it, and I'm about at the halfway point while doing all side missions. I really recommend you buy the game if you enjoy space shooters, or you're just looking for a fun action experience.

Chorus is a gorgeous space flight fight simulator that harkens back to the days of Wing Commander with eventually smooth controls and intense battles. It does have some visible flaws to the narrative and some onscreen issues during battle, but for the most part, it’s darn good.

Chorus quickly hooks you with it’s fast and satisfying gameplay, but slows down like a truck by it’s third act, making the final hours a little bit of a chore.

By the time I rolled credits, there was no doubt that Chorus was the best space combat game I’ve played in years. The thrill of dynamic space combat coupled with a compelling narrative and overall superb design make this one an absolute a must-play.

Deep Silver Fishlabs has spent a lot of time developing space-combat shooter games; they also developed the Galaxy on Fire series, and I think all of that time has culminated in a stand-out product here in Chorus. Taking the gameplay elements found in a typical 3D action RPG and applying them to a space flight game works tremendously well. Flying around the levels is a blast, the combat is enjoyable, and the story is more substantial than I expected, which was good and bad, as sometimes I wished the characters would shut up so I could get back into the action. If playing a space-combat shooter with an action RPG structure sounds at all interesting then you should consider checking out Chorus.

Weapons, customisation, abilities (rites) ant general dog fighting mechanics are amazing. You genuinely feel like a full on space ninja.The one thing that gets me about this game which stops it being a 10 - some missions are straight up bad (not many, we're talking 2-3) - the conditions are unforgiving so you can get right to the end and then the target ship just explodes on its own, so then you have to repeat it.Additionally one of tbf first big bosses is so badly designed that the only way to get through it is to reach a milestone, die 5 times and then eventually reach the next. I won't add spoilers but the first major boss has some extremely odd mechanics which you won't understand until you are dead. Then you get respawned right where you need to be.

Hadn't heard much about this game, saw the trailer on release day and had to buy it. I loved the wing commander games back in the amiga days and enjoyed every version, few games over the years have scratched that space combat itch - this is the one.What a little gem this is, has a huge amount going for it. Not heard of the developers before, but they have done a fantastic job on this, pretty sure it's their first large scale console release, having done space shooters on mobile. It is very polished in all areas, visuals, audio, gameplay and story, some stagger work for a small team.First of the visuals are incredible, seriously one of the best looking games on PS5, runs at a butter smooth 60 frames in performance mode. Dense amounts of detail are packed in and draw distance is immense, haven't seen any pop in either, the bain of open world game. Not a dropped frame anywhere, which is incredible considering the scale and amount of detail and effects being thrown around.Must mention load times, just incredible, loading from fresh into a save game is literally seconds, surprises me everytime. Reloads of checkpoints are also ridiculously quick.Gameplay is engaging and the controls, once you get used to the drift mechanic it feels very satisfying, fun and an utter joy to play. You can boost at high speed in one direction and then press L1 allowing you to drift or rotate whilst still travelling in the same direction. Dog fights are very rewarding as you fly past enemies, drifting and tracking them as they fly past, blasting them with your gatling gun, oh yeah, feels good, real good.Controls will seem odd if you look at them on paper, they are more like a FPS shooter in that you have to push the left joystick forwards to travel forward. But compared to other recent space shooters like Star Wars: Squadron and SW:BattleFront II for instance, it quickly feels right and intuitive, and you're soon barrel rolling, boosting and drifting and have a lot of fun destroying the wide range of enemies.Capital ships are a blast as you destroy outer defenses and then have to go inside to destroy the reactor, really captures those moments you've always wanted to play from sci-fi TV and movie, all those battles from Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars.Each area is huge and packed with detail, you're free to divert from the main mission and complete side quests at any point and these are very diverse. Jump gates allow you to travel to each main area.I’ve read some reviews that have said the story is uninteresting and voice acting is wooden. I do not agree, the story and lore are fascinating and it feels like a lot of thought has been put into it. Voice acting ranges from good to excellent, with some really diverse accents. I must mention your ship, it is sentient and has some funny lines, it's always encouraging you during combat, it's great.My only gripe would be the mission pointers, sometimes I have got a little lost and wasn't sure where I should be heading, but a quick press of the x button reveals those points of interest again.I could go on for much longer and I dont write reviews often but I felt compelled to let everyone know how good this game is. The developers really deserve a better marketing campaign as this is seriously a joy to look at and play, its the game i've always wanted to play since seeing Star Wars 40 odd years ago. Please give this a chance and buy it if you like space shooters, I don't think you’ll be disappointed at all, we need more games like this.

Also I'm getting vibes of cosmic horror frequently. Optional quests may lead to Optional boss, or provide interesting new mechanics like racing. Visuals are also stunnig. I hope the story will get better but the gameplay and atmosphere are amaizing. Sound design is also amaizing.Update: The story got better and the ending gave me chills!

Chorus is a mostly good game, with excellent dogfighting and gameplay that always feels fun to pull off. Still, it's almost tragic how poorly the game's ending lets down the rest of the solid work that made everything else about it so brilliant.

The space battles in Chorus are good, piloting its agile super-powered fighter through enemy fire while devastating hordes of enemies is fun. This efficient gameplay is its strength, and the special powers are well integrated into the gameplay. The fights tend to become too easy, but the boss battles compensate. The exploration is unfortunately not there as the open world is empty, it is more an excuse for dialogues and additional battles. However, it has the merit of being very pleasant to look at. The realization is quite good, whether it is through the graphics, the music, and even the cinematics and dialogues. So, we spend a good time on Chorus, during the twenty hours to finish it the first time.

I’m not going to lie; I LOVE everything about this game. In fact, the only thing I wish is that I was able to get out of the ship and walk around as Nara. Much like the Galaxy on Fire series all conversations happen in ship, unless it’s a cutscene. But even that is not really worth counting as a strike against the game because literally everything else is such a smooth experience. While the story can get a bit confusing, if players are fans of breakneck speeds, and thrilling dogfights in space then Chorus is going to be right up your alley. I cannot wait to see what Deep Silver Fishlabs can do with a sequel to this game or even some DLC, with the world that has been created here it really would be a shame to let it go to waste.

Chorus is a frantic and rather challenging space shooter, with many different enemies and nice boss fights but also complex controls that will literally make you intertwine your fingers during the more challenging and blasphemous clashes.

Chorus might ostensibly look like any other space shooter, but, discounting a few annoyances, it has some cool ideas of its own, and frenetic action that will pull you right in like a tractor beam.

Chorus is a half-successful product. The guys from Deep Silver Fishlabs have actually shaped a galvanizing combat system supported by gameplay mechanics that are well suited to the space combat shooter genre, but the exploratory component almost completely devoid of indications and the poor readability of the action penalize the playful system. If on the one hand we declare ourselves satisfied with the work done on the narrative front, there is still a long road that the Hamburg studio will have to travel to transform Chorus into the promised product. In short, the redemption of Nara cannot yet be said to be fully achieved.

There’s a solid space shooter buried beneath Chorus’ many bumps and bruises. Unfortunately, however, I’m not sure many players will be willing to dig beyond its myriad technical issues and more frustrating moments to find it. And honestly, that’s a real shame. Because with a bit more polish and refinement, Fishlabs’ latest offering could have been a space opera to remember with its unique story and exciting blend of sci-fi action and creepy occult mysticism. If you’re willing to overlook its problems, Chorus offers about a dozen hours of dogfighting action to keep you busy. But you’re going to need plenty of patience if you hope to break the Circle.

The open world isn't super engaging, and the plot can be a touch messy, but they're secondary to the fun of piloting your super ship as you spin, shoot lightning, and turn into lasers. If you're in the mood for an entertaining and punchy space shooter with some cool mechanics, then Chorus fits the bill. I wish the plot were better conveyed and there were more variety in side-quests, but that certainly doesn't mar the experience. At the end of the day, you're blowing up Cthulhus with your magic space anime powers, and isn't that all it needs to be?
