It's easy to be a little jaded about the fact that Call of Duty is going back to the Modern Warfare well. This latest entry into the franchise seems to be a significant improvement over previous entries, and it's closer to the type of game that the developers have been perfecting for years. The campaign is done well, the cooperative multiplayer is challenging, and the adversarial multiplayer is arguably better than it has ever been. Perhaps most importantly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare appeals to long-standing fans and new players alike. It might even draw in those who have fallen out of the Call of Duty fold and are looking for a way back.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's combination of modes is an easy recommendation for long time enthusiasts. However, the campaign feels really short and not up to expectations, and multiplayer modes feel hastily put together and thrown around without real consideration of what works and what does not.

Modern Warfare makes you love the franchise all over again. With a great campaign and an excellent multiplayer to boot this is the most fun you'll have with a shooter all year. It's a shame the Spec Ops mode doesn't live up to the hype.

Modern Warfare returns the saga to its best moments, something it needed, and brings us one of the best franchise campaigns. But it's still the same old COD.

The story of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare knows how to convince. The creators of Infinity Ward present here a special shooter experience that is somewhat different from the typical formula of the Activision shoot-out. The wacky Michael Bay action has been brought down a bit, but in return the title now tells a story that breaks social taboos and blurs the boundaries between good and evil. This more serious approach pleases, but unfortunately it wasn't thought to the end. A more critical or reflective approach to the topic of war would have been the premise. But that remains - apart from the somewhat scarce game size and the compulsory online connection - the only point of criticism. The co-op- and multiplayer-mode offer more reason to complain. The special unit missions seem somehow half-baked and lack announced features. The multiplayer battles suffer from the partly confusing maps, which seem to reward a passive way of playing. This clouds the overall impression a bit, even if the title can otherwise fully convince in terms of gameplay.

One of the best single player campaigns ever seen in a shooter and a multiplayer renewed in all its components make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare a must have videogame.

J'aime le son qui est sympa et met dans l'ambiance.J'aime aussi le fait que les dlc soient gratuits et le jeu cross plateforme.Le mode coop est anecdotique.En revanche, le mode multi est une véritable purge, le net code à un décalage de parfois plus d'une seconde, la kill cam ne représente pas du tout ce que l'on voit à l'écran, il est impossible de rusher ou d'avancer 5 mètres sans se faire tuer par un camper, une claymore, un bombardement, notre vie est beaucoup trop faible, les armes sont déséquilibrées, la dispersion des balles très mauvaise, les maps très mal conçues et favorisant clairement les campers (trop de bâtiments et de verticalité), personne ne joue l'objectif (il arrive souvent que la partie se finisse par le temps et non par le score car les gens n'osent pas sortir de leurs trous).Le skill n'est pas du tout récompensé, mon dernier cod était mw2 et j'ai beaucoup joué à bf ou csgo. J'étais même plutôt bon mais clairement ce call of duty est très mauvais. Par exemple :- Vous êtes derrière un mur et les balles touchent le vide ou vous étiez à coté et vous tuent.- Vous sortez d'un bâtiment > VOUS ÊTES MORT- Personne ne joue l'objectif- Vous mettez un chargeur pour tuer quand l'ennemi tue en 3 balles (instant kill dans votre écran)La différence est absolument abyssale avec un csgo ! Fuyez et ne vous faites pas avoir par le marketing comme je l'ai été avec le coté "retour aux sources"...

In multiplayer, white phosphorus is a reward for competent play that brings high-fives and fierce guitar licks. That’s some badass shit, Bro! You can have this cake and you can eat it, Modern Warfare assures us. In past installments, this dissonance would be funny, but here, it’s another reminder that these are really two separate games, and never shall the twain meet.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has an outstanding campaign, and the multiplayer will have you itching to play just one more game over, and over, and over again.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare steps it up in the pure game-feel department; its guns, its movement, its action: it all feels the best it's ever been. Even with thrilling new modes like Gunfight and the Counter-Strike-like Cyber Attack, the maps and Spec Ops end up disappointing. The campaign itself remains a return to form for the staple Call of Duty campaign, for better or worse. Modern Warfare as a whole ends up feeling like it has the foundation for something better than it is right now, and in the months to come, it very well might be. But for now, it's just merely almost there.

Ultimately, I came away from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare confused about how to feel about it. I’m always down for some Call of Duty campaign nonsense and was super looking forward to it after Black Ops 4 skipped it entirely. When I started this story, I was stoked. It felt great to play, looked better than any previous entry, and seemed to have some real dramatic ambition. But then the story got going, and it was less thematically coherent than a Tom Clancy game. Both the campaign and (currently divisive) multiplayer add a lot of new angles and depth to the usual Call of Duty experience. Unfortunately, that all comes at the cost of a good story, and the last Modern Warfare had a great story.

After a few years experimenting with the formula, Modern Warfare is a great Call of Duty that feels like a step forward for the series. There are some aspects that, we hope, will be polished over time, but overall we’ve really enjoyed it.

COD: Modern Warfare is the dawn of a new era for the series and the show could not have been better than this. By embracing different categories of digital killers with some bold changes between gameplay, rhythm and level design, online FPS will have to compete with it from now on.

Despite some flaws like Survival exclusive to PS4. The introductions of the new game modes, bring variety to the Multiplayer. The gun customization are insane (You can even convert your M4A1 to a deadly 9mm Submachine Gun!) help customize your play style.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts the franchise back where it needs to be. You get a wonderful campaign, team-oriented spec ops, and a variety of multiplayer options that cater to those who love large and small scale warfare.

Modern Warfare should have received a new Call of Duty subhead given just how different its avenues of play are. Not every one of Infinity Ward’s ideas works, but a few are successful enough that I could see them as series staples. Modern Warfare’s accomplishments may not be as pronounced as Black Ops 4’s (Blackout being one of them), but it still delivers a hell of a multiplayer experience. Gunfight alone is worth the price of admission.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a great new start for the franchise, thanks to terrific visuals, cool new game modes and the best campaign since Black Ops. Unfortunately Spec Ops are a massive let down.
