I loved the first Bioshock and played it at launch on the 360 thinking that the game deserved all of the accolades that game with it. Bioshock 2 improved on certain gameplay mechanics yet I didn't enjoy the overall game as much as the first game. This for some reason put me off ever even trying to play Bioshock Infinite. Fast forward to 2021 and I end up with the full Bioshock collection and again I ask myself how well can a game hold up over this many years? Let's not forget this is released two generations of consoles ago! Boy was I wrong to wait to play this game. Sure the Remastered ps4 version helps and load times playing it on a PS5 no doubt again improved my experience, but what a game and what a gaming series that should definitely be played through again, or played for the very first time. Overall I'd rate the collection 92% even in 2021 again with 2 being the weakest overall.

If you are like me and have never played a BioShock game before, I highly recommend picking up this collection. If you played one of these games or even all of them on another console, it is still an excellent collection on the Switch. Since you get all three games and their DLC, I think it is well worth the asking price of $49.99.

All in all, is the Bioshock Collection worth picking up on Nintendo Switch? I would absolutely recommend it. As I mentioned, whether you have played them before or not, the hybrid console is a fantastic way to experience each of these titles, and the excellent result of the port alone should be enough to entice players new and old. The games have amazing stories, truly unique settings, and memorable characters and locations that everyone should jump into.

For many BioShock: The Collection’s hop to Nintendo Switch is as good of an excuse as any to indulge in this unforgettable series all over again. For others it’s an opportunity to discover what they’ve been missing out on and if so “would you kindly” pick up a copy because yes, you’ve been missing out. For those owning a Switch alone, there’s a banquet of content on offer in this collection that both looks and plays a treat, making it worth every penny. This first-person shooter is easily one of the best available in the Switch’s catalogue of games and let’s face it, being able to take BioShock wherever you go is indeed awesome. However, bearing in mind how this version plays best, it’s difficult not to consider browsing stores on other consoles where this title often finds itself on sale for a pretty much identical experience at fraction of the price.

All three BioShock games in the collection contain all the DLC from their original releases and as far as packages go, are as complete as they come. Purely from a content perspective there’s plenty to go around, and most of the time spent is engaging, too. I personally find all three games to be far more interesting as historical artefacts rather than for pure consumption, but it’s nice that they function well as both. And so if you’re just arriving at the series on Switch my recommendation is – if you can stomach the often very graphic violence – definitely play BioShock 1, if you loved the first then consider BioShock 2, and only if you like flying cities and have a yet unsatiated bloodlust, then play BioShock Infinite as well.

BioShock: The Collection stands as yet another fantastic port in the Switch’s ever-growing library, combining three excellent games and all their DLC into one convincing package. Stable performance, engrossing narratives, fun gameplay, and lots of content make this one an easy recommendation, even if these releases show their age from time to time. If you’re looking for a good single-player shooter to pick up for your Switch, look no further than BioShock: The Collection. We’d give this one a high recommendation, it’s tough to go wrong here.

Bioshock The Collection on Switch is everything the home console versions brought us four years ago, but with a oh-so practical portable dimension, but also poorer graphics, thanks to a strong aliasing, and a frame-rate which cannot exceed 30 fps. But with three classical FPS games which already made history, the added DLC and many bonus gives us a good reason to dive again, on the go.

The people whining about the price gladly drop 60 bucks for shallow children’s games that Nintendo rushes out every year. 50 bucks for 3 of the best shooters ever made is a steal, period.

This collection is a fantastic adaptation of one of the best franchises ever made. They are that type of game that can be played years later and they’re still as enjoyable as when they first came out, so wether it’s your first or your tenth time with them, this is your chance to play them on the go.

Switch runs Bioshock at a solid 1080p 30fps. The graphical fidelity is much closer to the PS4 version than the original PS3 version. At some points (for example with certain fire effects) it looked like there were compression artifacts but otherwise tje image was very clean.A few minor issues that Switch owners should know is that there is no gyro support, some text and hud elements being quite small in handheld mode (as these games were originally developed for home consoles) and that all games require additional downloads as only parts of every game have been stored on the cartridge.Overall this is a quality port of a quality game but the developers didn't go the extra mile to consider Switch specific features.

I think I may have been even 'more' impressed had I first experienced the games as they were released, but better late than never.The first two Bioshock games are very much of the same style, both play out indoors in claustrophobic, confined spaces, or in the darkness of the deep water. The third game opened things up quite a bit more into outside environments, brightness, more space and true weirdness but greatness. All three share great atmosphere, a few scares along the way and give a general vibe that they were put together by people high on something. I loved the mechanics of all three of gradually collecting and then levelling up new gear, and it's generally all really cool with no micro-transactions to be found anywhere, no online shops, just pure single player experience with all the DLC included in one neat package.Anyone who enjoys FPS single player campaigns, owes it to themselves to get this as honestly, even the better single player campaigns these days like Titanfall 2 are pretty and well done but also short. Getting through all of this is not short, it's fantastic value that should keep you going for a month or two, like it did me.

The DLC attempts to correct that but comes up very short.. The plot of the third is alright, but they tried way too hard to make it complex and witty and it ends up just being a little silly with some pretty major holes. Would recommend the collection, even the first game looks and plays fantastic.

A huge disappointment. I can recommend The Collection only to those who never played the original games, because the quality of the remasters does not justify paying for them again (even old bugs were left intact!).

The collection of all Bioshock games isn't a bad remaster, but neither is it an outstanding one. For the console crowd it’s a worthy addition to their collection, but for PC players it doesn't offer a big enough improvement.

While the return to BioShock's unsettling universe is enjoyable, it's hard to recommend the collection to fans of the original. With only a slight graphical boost, the changes BioShock: The Collection introduces are welcome, but don't warrant a second playthrough for most.

Even though The Bioshock Collection is filled with content, it is far from perfect. Technically speaking there are a lot of bumps on the road and the gameplay simply is not Bioshocks strong suit. However, the design is amazing.

If you haven’t played these games like I have, then this is a no-brainer. Personally, I would wait until the price drops slightly down, because $60 for three remastered games is a bit rich for my blood, especially with a wide range of excellent titles releasing this holiday. With that said, the experience is incredible and the original BioShock remains one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion.

High definition textures do a solid job of re-introducing one of gaming’s enduring masterpieces to a younger generation of gamers. Whilst not providing adequate incentive to re-purchase for gamers who already own these time capsule titles, Bioshock: The Collection makes an ideal gift for introducing someone to the magical and never ending journey of PC Gaming.

BioShock The Collection combines the three 2K Games for a reasonable price. On top of that, the games are polished and upgraded to the standards of today. And that makes the games feel like new.

There are no framerate drops. No dodgy textures. The integrity of in-game mechanics are polished and hold up to the scrutiny we 2016-based reviewers can place upon them.

There’s no denying that the Bioshock series is an ambitious one, and that it features some much loved/derided games. Bioshock Collection is the current definitive way to experience those games on consoles, but there’s little new for long-term fans beyond a bit of spit n’ polish.

While they vary ever so slightly in quality, with the original, for my money, edging out the others and number 2 valiantly bringing up the rear, all 3 games are incredibly playable and deeply compelling.

Frame rate is also 60 FPS in all with some dips here and there. There is also no day one patch for any of the titles, so you can play these games out of the box without a problem. The extras are mind blowing with all DLC thrown in and new features like the developer commentary and concept arts. The packaging is also slick. Considering how much effort 2K put into this collection, it's worth the price than most "remasters" being put out at slightly lesser price.

If there is a must when it comes to remasters, it's BioShock: The Collection. Blind Squirrel made a superb work adapting for 1080p and 60fp an already superior franchise. If you haven't played any BioShock yet, this is the best moment and, if you are into Ken Levine's work, BioShock: The Collection has to be on your shelf.
