A look at the videos on YouTube then showed that it was almost impossible to do it. Shame on you!

Attack of the Earthlings is by no means a bad game — its personality and anti-capitalist, anti-human stance works, and the ideas underlying the mechanics are well-thought-out. Unfortunately, the execution, lack of optimization and muddy presentation undermine a title that was already going to struggle in a genre well-stocked with plenty of superlative examples.

If lastability and replay value are the sacrifices needed for tight and innovative design, then Attack of the Earthlings signals a welcome change in a saturated genre. I for one welcome our new insect overlords.

For the most part the game does a great job at being a strategic and thought-provoking turn-based strategy game. And the humour provides an excellent layer of polish and enthusiasm which makes playing Attack of the Earthlings much more enjoyable.

While Attack of the Earthlings is aiming to be more casual than its counterparts, its gameplay really is too simple to be interesting for more than a few minutes. This, mixed with the criminally awkward and slow animations, makes the game little more than a chore, broken up a few some decent jokes.

The concept of being a monster fighting off humans instead of the other way around makes for an entertaining title. Although the game will make you chuckle occasionally and while the core gameplay is solid it never really stands out above the crowd. The game suffers from random difficulty spikes and the levels can become confusing. It is not a very long game either. The result is an original game that is executed well but could have been far more than the sum of its parts.

Wales Interactive and Team Junkfish comes with a Strategic RPG that's very fun and pretty original, and will provide you with good laughs and a compelling story about a role switching between good and evil.

The story has a surprising amount of depth and humor. I found that the presentation side of the game ticked a lot of boxes for me and I liked how both the visuals and sound design had a retro yet quite modern feel to. There’s a decent amount of variety present in the gameplay and defeating the various enemies always felt rewarding. I found the camera in the game to be a troublesome and more freedom would’ve been nice.The length the game is a little short sided compared to other game’s in the genre. Difficulty of the game can spike out of nowhere at times and does make some levels more frustrating than they should be. I can see some similarity to the XCOM series, although Attack of the Earthlings mixes things up a bit more. It also features more mechanics than XCOM and while it may not be as good as XCOM, it still stands out as a worth addition to the genre. As already mentioned this game features an array of different mechanics and I enjoyed each of them as each one brings something good to the overall gameplay experience. There’s also a good amount of variety present in the mechanics as well. This adds deployability to the game even though the difficulty was a little problematic at times. In terms of content the game can literally be completed in one sitting which was somewhat disappointing. Despite this, the content is good and it features a story that’s packed full of humor and this not only keeps things fresh throughout, it also makes the gameplay more fun than it already is. If you fancy game’s that feature XCOM style, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy what Attack of the Earthlings experience brings to you because even though it has a few shortcomings, it gets the most important aspects right and this makes recommending the game easy to do. If you're not a huge fan of these types of games wait for a sale to pick it up. You may just find yourself having a good time even though a short experience, achievement hunters will definitely rejoice.

There's a strong tactics title buried beneath the muck, here - buried beneath inconveniences and irritations numerous enough to cross the threshold separating molehill from mountain.

The levels have a good layout, and there's a wide variety of smart and dumb enemies to keep you invested. Your offensive abilities, from setting up traps to body disposal, are fun, and the humor keeps things lively. It is a short experience that doesn't have much replayability due to the lack of variable difficulty, but you'll still enjoy your time with Attack of the Earthlings.

What makes this game excellent is the amazing voice acting and character design, plus the superb Paradroid(C64)-style game level structure. Despite its small shortcomings this was excellent fun!!! MUST PLAY! :D

Attack of the Earthlings is a good, fun and funny game. While it's fairly short and has very limited replay value, the time you spend with it is genuinely fun. More than that, it's funny where most games will feel forced or simply re-use aspects to their death. Though it may not surpass other similar titles like Xenonauts, this is an altogether good experience and one that's well worth playing if you're a fan of the genre.

Even finishing it can be a chore, as the repetition turns into grind.The balancing and game design leave much to be desired. With the massive importance placed on stealth, it is immersion shattering that enemies cannot use their comms to talk during combat, or detect their own gunshots. Add in a lack of tactical shooting, 3D positioning, or the myriad of other aspects that have become the hallmark of XCOM-type of games, you are just left with the realization that this is just a monster movie simulator. It does have a few good ideas, and a few funny moments, but not enough of either or the necessary supporting gameplay to justify the time to see them.
