At the end of each mission/day, it’s hard to tell how much food everyone needs, there isn’t a bar or gauge to let you know. I also ran into the issue where I couldn’t access my crafting tables and machines … half the game is crafting and building your base. If you can’t do that at the end of the day when you get supplies, what’s the point??

The Farm 51 signs an unique approach to survival games, mixing the formula with elements from the RPG or management genre, and it does it right. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are superior, but retain some of the flaws from the previous ones (lacklustre IA, visual glitches...). If those are polished, it could be a greater experience.

The game is pretty short even if you do the side missions. Replayability is almost zero because all the missions are pretty bland and repetitive. I recommend playing the game on a hard difficulty to make things more interesting.. stealth is pretty good in this game but on easy you can pretty much go directly to objectives soaking up bullets. One big upside to this game is that it's extremely easy to platinum if you're into platinum trophy hunting.. that is if your save doesn't glitch out back to day 0.. which happened to me once when I tried to change a memory.. don't do that fair warning .. there are also plenty of other glitches I've ran into.. falling through the map.. crashes.. freezes.. objectives not working or loading..etc If it weren't for the glitches I'd give this game a 6.5

Chernobylite is a game that's dripping in atmosphere, but doesn't quite hit the mark in other areas. If you can get past its clunky shooting and stealth mechanics, there’s some fun to be had in base building and people management.

Chernobylite is a fascinating survival horror RPG that serves up an enthralling and impressively detailed exclusion zone for players to run a series of dangerous raids in. There may be a few too many gameplay elements chucked into the mix here but strong writing, well designed missions, great support characters and some incredible visual and audio work smooth over most of the rough patches. If you can deal with a some clunkiness with regards to combat and are prepared to work a little to get the most out of it, you'll find a deep and addictive indie gem awaits that does a fantastic job of scratching that S.T.A.L.K.E.R itch.

Chernobylite isn’t a perfect game. Aside from the continuity issues and the horror that falls flat, there were a couple of game crashes too. However, the game has plenty more positives, including impressive decision-making, the amount of freedom with base building, and simple but satisfying team management. Chernobylite is well worth dipping into for a few hours as long as you remember the game is not meant to be a AAA experience.

You chose a location to explore and you appear there with the ability to extract when you're done.I really like the grat atmosphere and the Russian voice acting. It's really immersive and blends well with the survival elements.

It’s not without its problems, then, but Chernobylite offers an intoxicating blend of horror, survival, base-building and FPS action. Repetition could be an issue for some, and shying away from playing with the poorly-acted English dialogue is highly recommended. Once you’ve settled in to your quest to find out what happened to your long-lost love, however, it’s hard to not feel the urge to do one more mission before turning it off, ever in the hope of finding valuable resources or a crumb of information.

Chernobylite's graphical detail is one of the greatest aspects behind it. Additionally, the game's nail-biting story, the memorable characters, and the freedom to explore the areas of the Exclusion Zone provide a great sense of dread and loneliness that's both fun to play and make for an excellent Action RPG with team management mechanics.

Despite some gripes, Chernobylite brings players an excellent sci-fi horror experience with great ambiance, quirky characters, and survival mechanics that are challenging and satisfying.

This brings all the positive and all the negative things of the original, but it plays better than before on console and will continue to get free content in the next few months.

Conceptually, Chernobylite will intrigue you. Its blend of Sci-Fi and clichéd moments are complemented by authentic dialogue and real to life visuals. There is much to love about this survival game and you’ll soon forgive the shortcomings.

I got to day 23 and the game corrupted all my saves, so be on the lookout for that if you plan to play on PS4. Good mix of Fallout, the Forest and Control. In the beginning, I had 15 save slots, but as I progressed, it narrowed down to only 4 slots. They were all corrupted, so 30 hours were wasted. Was ready to see an "ending"

Chernobylite is an amazing, well put together survival game that has some mind blowing plot twists, some truly difficult decisions and a stunning backdrop to experience. Chernobylite mixes a whole load of gaming styles but still manages to come up with something very unique and challenging. It’s a game in which you can invest a bunch of hours, especially in the resource management stuff, but is neatly complemented by a cracking story and some great visuals.

Chernobylite is an enjoyable little loot n’ shooter sadly torpedoed by technical issues for the PS4 version. It’s such a shame that the intriguing storyline and the compulsive scavenging fun is completely ruined by bugs. I was looking forward to uncovering the dark mysteries lurking within Pripyat, but until the game-breaking errors are fixed, they will have to remain hidden.

Bizarre but beautiful indeed, Chernobylite is an amalgamation of various genres in one captivating game that you wouldn’t think could pull it off as well as it does. Its missions offer much of the same over the time and its combat could use some work, but its world gives you enough diverse events, objectives, and live challenges that keep you thinking ahead. Plus, add to that its 3D scanned world of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and you get an ambitious game that blends fiction with reality and offers you an experience unlike any other.

In case someone was disappointed by the lack of freedom in The Medium, let it be known that Chernobylite brings much more leeway in terms of gameplay, while offering equally pretty graphics and dark atmosphere. Until the second S.T.A.L.K.E.R. arrives, there is no better game for visiting Chernobyl.

Despite the flaws, something about Chernobylite feels like it's primed to enjoy cult classic status. Troubled but daring games are often the subject of smaller but passionate fanbases, and Chernobylite is nothing is not daring. Several of those gambles don't payout in the end, but the journey is always a weird one, even if not always an exciting one.

With a combination of multiple features and mechanics from different genres, as well as a setting that's steeped in mystery, Chernobylite attempts to be the jack-of-all-trades. Unfortunately, a mediocre combat system, repetitive mission structure, and dull gameplay loop lead to questionable results.
