WATCH_DOGS 2 is the sequel to Ubisoft Montreal’s 2014 action adventure Watch Dogs. This time the open world game is set in (a somewhat fictionalised version of) San Fran Bay, the second city to have the ctOS system installed. You take control of Marcus Holloway, a hacker who joins the group DedSec after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit by Blume, the evil corporation behind the creation of ctOS (the city’s advanced surveillance system).
In a world twice the size of the original, Marcus must use his hacking abilities and parkour skills to complete the main story missions and other side missions (known as ‘operations’) in his quest to bring down ctOS and Blume. The more missions he completes the more social media followers he gains (which we all know is THE most important thing in this day and age). Use Marcus’ skills to hack into pretty much anything, from phones to traffic lights, to cameras, cars and windows – if it can be hacked, Marcus and his team of co-conspirators have got it down!
The big question is, which tactics will you use to complete each mission? Will you adopt an aggressive style, kicking in the front door all guns blazing? Or will you opt for stealth mode and sneak in the back door? Or in true hacker style will you complete all missions purely from behind a screen using only your unique hacker skill set? Be warned though, too much online activity will alert the police and start a full-blown man hunt! Either way it’s critical that ctOS is taken down and Blume are exposed for the corrupt criminals they are.
In 2016, ctOS 2.0, an advanced operating system networking city infrastructure, was implemented in several US cities to create safer, more efficient metropolises.
Play as Marcus Holloway, a brilliant young hacker living in the birthplace of the tech revolution, the San Francisco Bay Area. Team up with Dedsec, a notorious group of hackers, and expose the hidden dangers of ctOS 2.0, which, in the hands of corrupt corporations, is being wrongfully used to monitor and manipulate citizens on a massive scale.
With the power of hacking and Dedsec by your side, launch the Hack of the Century, take down ctOS 2.0, and give freedom back to who it belongs to: the people.
