It's not a bad game, just incredibly mediocre and somewhat boring at times. It's definitely a very different LEGO game than usual. If you want to play an actually exciting and enjoyable LEGO game, I would suggest playing the first LEGO Movie video game.

The story is boring, you can't build anything, there is no missions, its all like a ''open world thing'' with no cutscene. It dosen't feel like a Lego game at ALL. The game is very short too. 8 hoours ti finish it, and 10 to complete all the Achievements. I think that its a Lego that should be forgetten.Positive things ;+ Nothing.Negative things ;- The story- The open world is very bad- No cutscene- No challenge at all

Just play the original.

It has a broken loot box mechanic that feels like they were planing on putting microtransactions into this game but they decided against it last minute. So whats left is just a broken loot box system. The story is down right terrible it doesn't even fell the like the movie of the same name. The "worlds" in this game are all so boring and bland there is nothing special about any of them. This game bares many similarities to lego worlds (which I do not like) and like lego worlds I feel like it could have used more time in the oven cooking. Because this game feels incredibly rushed.Save your money, don't buy this game its not worth it.

This LEGO game is a lot like LEGO City. Instead of playing through the levels of the game (which would highlight scenes from the source movie)This LEGO game is a lot like LEGO City. Instead of playing through the levels of the game (which would highlight scenes from the source movie) this just has you doing "quests" in each world. Unto itself it would be OK although LEGO games are better when they stick to the source. What makes this one of the worse LEGO games in a while is the features that were added and the bugs. In an attempt to make this fresh and new they removed everything that made the old LEGO games fun. There are no more red and gold bricks to collect. instead you either find or are given magic bricks as you complete quests. These are not used for anything other than unlocking a final world and moving the story along (because you have to get so many before you can go to the next world). Red bricks are replaced by red equipment that you can put on (one at a time). No more x2 multipler or character detector here. This is where this game goes from traditional to "over the cliff" bad. You can smash glowing chests (which regenerate by simply moving away from them and coming back) to get studs (which are mostly useless) and "relics". There are several different types of relics that give you characters, items or stuff to build. The problem is that they are completely random so you will get more and more dups as you open more. Furthermore the relics can only be opened by going to a store so after you traverse a world you'll then spend an extra 10 minutes at the store opening each relic and sitting through the same cut scene each time. This is beyond boring. Then you will likely find that you already have the item. If you have a dup then you get a "gold relic part" instead. Get enough of these and you get a gold relic that contains 3 items, one of which should be unique. Rinse and repeat. I have no idea why this system was added or how this is fun but this is one of the dullest activities I've ever sat through in a LEGO game. It adds absolutely no value but you have to do it otherwise you cannot unlock (eventually) characters and builds you need to move on. This idea needs to be buried and never brought back up as a good idea ever again.Given the "relic" stuff you no longer have any special character abilities. It is completely generated by the items you have. As such there is no reason to switch characters. This is a good thing because all but the core story characters are generic anyway (pizza guy, Bob, etc). But since any character can do everything why would you switch?Given the large amount of things to do you pretty much need a checklist if you want to do it all. The only detector available is locked behind the random red relic generator so it could take you minutes or days to get it. Even then it is only useful for the magic bricks. I thought we had moved beyond games that required you to manually track 400 collectibles? Finally this game is buggy. The camera angle seems to have taken a step back. As you get too close to scenery (which you do all the time as you climb stairs, go into tunnels, etc) the camera basically goes out of control. It is like a student project that they borrowed for the game. Aren't graphics programmers supposed to have solve these kinds of problems a decade ago. This just screams amateur or rushed. Given the bad camera angles you'll fall off into scenery a lot. In some cases it is harmless, in others you die.If you were to place all the LEGO games out and asked someone to find the earliest this game seems like it would be a contender. The oddball design decisions, the bad camera angles, the lack of any real story and the lackluster character list scream of a first attempt. Yet this is the latest LEGO game. Unless you are a LEGO fanatic skip this game and go replay one of the good ones.
