Il numero e la varietà di enigmi che sono riusciti a creare sfruttando quest'idea in un gioco così piccolo è sbalorditiva.I rompicapo inoltre risultano quasi sempre abbastanza difficili ma mai impossibili, e questo rende il gioco piacevole ed intrattenente.Molto bello che alcuni elementi non subiscano l'interruzione dello scorrere del tempo e quindi permettano di creare effetti particolari.A condire il tutto c'è una minimale ma empatica (soprattutto grazie alla colonna sonora) storia di amicizia. Oltre a brevi video presenti, la bella relazione tra i protagonisti è spesso evidenziata da alcuni gesti che compiono durante l'avventura.In conclusione, il gioco è molto breve ma divertente. Come gameplay forse renderebbe quasi meglio su smartphone o tablet, ma si perderebbe un po' dal lato emotivo. Consigliato come passatempo anche ai non amanti del genere.VOTO: 8.5/10

You simply progress from level to level without ever knowing what's going on. The conclusion clears up a bit of the mystery behind the story, but by that point it's just not meaningful anymore.The maps look interesting, as if you're inside a dream-like world. Since there's only three buttons in the game (forward, back, and interact), there isn't a whole lot of complexity. The puzzles might not be super difficult, but they still require more than a few minutes to solve, and they get progressively harder.Overall, this game is a decent way to burn a few hours of your time if you have nothing else to do and want to play a puzzle game. At the design level, it's really just a mobile game that's been ported to PC. It looks pleasant and is optimized, but that's all. I generously give this a borderline 7 (it's more like a 6.5 though).On a side note, the XGP version has an issue with cloud saves, so you might end up losing progress if it doesn't properly sync with Microsoft's servers. This happened to me once early on, which was a minor inconvenience, but still one nonetheless. Since the game isn't long, try to get it done in one sitting.

The Gardens Between's aesthetics make for a relaxing and enjoyable experience, albeit a rather short one. You can complete the game within two hours, and once you do there's not really any reason to go back and play it again. If the game were longer and the puzzles more challenging towards the end, it would be easy to recommend the game to puzzle game fans. If you're OK with the short length and approach the game as something that you'll enjoy a quiet evening playing and then move on, you'll probably enjoy the experience.

Ce non-jeu qui fait à peine le temps d'une démo est quand même vendu 20 balles !... mais comme on le sait trop bien, les cons, et en l'occurrence les cons qui développent ces immondices, ça ose tout !

Controls are easy for anyone to grasp, new concepts and increased difficulty unfold so naturally, you may not even notice. The narrative may be cliché but comes across sincere, brought to life with a charming interpretation of childhood imagination. It’s the gaming equivalent of a warm, cozy blanket – a relaxing and welcoming experience built for anyone to enjoy.

Even if the game is cute and enjoyable, it's a short game that we can finish even in a single game session and that plays against the game.

Some may find the puzzles a little simple and as an overall experience it could well last a little longer but please, if you want to take in a new concept which is just lovely, buy The Gardens Between. Now.

Each of the puzzles in the game have been done well and while they aren’t really challenging the variety within them kept the game interesting. I found the time mechanic to be very interesting and in some ways unique which in turn did make the gameplay come alive that little bit more. The story the game is trying to tell is sweet yet very distinctive and it did make me think about certain things along the way. I found the world in which the game took place to be very charming and I think it combined with the story extremely well. If you’re looking for an action-packed experience then you won’t find it here because it is a slow paced experience which can make things become a little tedious every once in a while. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount and once completed you’re highly unlikely to return back to the game. I remember back in the day with my friends playing because back then I didn’t have a worry about responsibilities. Instead it was a time of fun and adventure and those memories will stay with me to the day I die. This is basically what The Gardens Between is about and even though the game is short in length and doesn’t have much in terms of replaybilty it will stay with me long after completion. The story is told through different mannerisms instead of words and this for me made the experience even more powerful. When you combine this then with the intricate puzzles you end up having an experience that’s very unique and in my opinion it does make the game stand out quite considerably. Another thing that makes the game stand out is the world in which the game takes place in. This world is packed full of colour and the musical score that accompanies these visuals makes the game very immersive. In terms of problems the game doesn’t have too many and the only issue I had is that the game is a little too slow-paced for its own good at times. This however doesn’t impact on your experience very much though and when it’s all said and done The Gardens Between is a beautiful game that gets massive recommendation from me.

The only issues with The Gardens Between is its short length and its utter lack of replay value. If you enjoy heart warming bite-sized puzzle games, the journey found here is as stunning, as unique, and as clever as they come. The game’s core time manipulation concept works sensationally well with its few mechanics, serving up puzzles that, although quite simple, remain thoughtful and captivating throughout.

No good thing can last forever though, and as pretty and pleasant as the islands are, I couldn’t stay. After finishing a section, I often made Arina and Frendt run back and forth just to look at the details and to enjoy the complete, endearing picture, but that’s not how progress is made. I had to make them move on. Reminiscing on and remembering the past is sweet and often important, but we can’t spend too much time on it — The Gardens Between serves as a gentle reminder to anyone who may have forgotten that.

The Gardens Between is a beautiful game and combined with the relaxing atmosphere set by the wonderful soundtrack and simple controls make it one worth checking out. The story of the two friends’ adventures is told without the use of any dialogue and although it is a little on the short side, it did leave me wanting more - which is always a good sign. The puzzles are not overly difficult, and the lovely story of friendship told within the environments where their adventures occur, make The Gardens Between a game for all ages, but will be especially nostalgic for those gamers who grew up in the 80's.

The diversity and creative ingenuity of these little four-dimensional riddles is truly impressive. I was sad to finish the game after four or so hours, but enriched by the journey.

Often simple and straightforward but also brilliant and profound, The Gardens Between is a visually wonderful adventure puzzle in which the clever time-bending mechanics are intertwined with a delicate story of an extremely strong friendship. A great little game.
