J'espère vraiment qu'il va marcher.

There are lots of little things in this title that are genuinely good – the subplots add a depth to the world, the art style is buoyant — but there’s far too much that feels like it hasn’t been fully thought out. Shiness is a curious experiment that never quite hits the mark, which is a shame given the effort that has clearly gone into it.

Coming from a Kickstarter and only surpassing their goal by $40k when other games spend over 1,000x on production and fail spectacularly, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is a remarkable game. It could very well be a top contender for indie game of the year, and at a price point of only $30 it seems to really be a bargain and a half. Not only has this restored some of my dissolved faith in Kickstarter video games, but in indie games as well. It goes to show that you don't need to spend millions of dollars to make a great game as developer Enigami managed to do it with $140K. If you're a fan of action RPG's that look and sound incredible while offering a colossal amount of content, even though there are a few hiccups now and then, stop reading this and go start downloading Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom now.

A quite beautiful game with great visuals -thanks to the cell shaded graphics- which comes with many design flaws that almost completely ruin the overall experience.

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is a desperately moderate "western" JRPG that hardly will satisfy a devotee of the genre, and I would not suggest it to someone who is not familiar with the genre, unless its serious problems with the battle system are fixed.

Despite clumsy camera work and few bugs along the way, Shiness: The Lightness Being is a delight to play. Colorful and enchanting, it’s a role-playing game that offers an engaging story with numerous cutscenes and a combat system you’ll find entertainingly challenging. If you’re the forgiving type come fluidity and smoothness in gameplay but a fan of action-driven RPGs with a good tale, then consider the purchase.

Shiness: The lightning kingdom is an ARPG game that mixes action, role, magic and puzzles along with a funny and good story that will delight the rpg lovers. Unfortunately it does not come to stand out as a Triple A in any aspects.

Après 12 heures de jeu et le premier boss battu je pense pouvoir rendre un verdict plutôt objectif.J'ai également pris le DLC avec lesAprès 12 heures de jeu et le premier boss battu je pense pouvoir rendre un verdict plutôt objectif.J'ai également pris le DLC avec les voix ce qui ajoute un gros côté RP au jeu mais dans le même temps te laisse sentir qui est important dans l'histoire et qui ne l'est pas vue que le doublage est assez inégal mais hônnetement entendre toutes ces sonnorités ça transporte vraiment dans l'univers (on sens tout de même bien les influences japonaise).Vis à vis du jeu en lui même et bien je vais expédier très vite le seul défaut que je vois : le problème de caméra lors des combats, ces dommage mais ca reste CLAIREMENT anecdotique.Vis à vis de tout le reste ? C'est un sans faute pour moi !Le monde est magnifique et féerique franchement j'adore et ça me rappel les centaines d'heures que j'ai pu passer sur Jak 2 et Rachet & Clanj 2 sur ma PS2, la fibre nostalgique marche parfaitement sur ce coup la.Les enigmes sont intélligentes et ce complexifies rapidement en te demandant d'utiliser les capacités de tous les personnages de l'équipes.D'ailleurs les personnages sont super intéressant, en à peine 8 heures de jeu l'histoire a déjà réussi à m'émouvoir (pas au larmes tout de même), les histoires sont belles et tristes et ca permet vraiment à tout le monde dece développer et d'être super intéressant.Concernant le systeme de combat ben je suis fan des jeux de combats et voir un mix entre les naruto ultimate ninja storm et Dragon ball xenoverse ça donne juste des combats rapide et nerveux (vraiment j'ai pris un pied monstre fasse au premier boss !!)Pour résumer je pense que c'est un perle. Il y a des **** défauts techniques mais ils sont clairement gommés par l'avalanche de qualités et le fait qu'il soit fait par des développeur indé et français ça rajoute encore plus au fait que j'aime ce jeu. Franchement une superbe surprise

Shiness is an ambitious game with a whole lot of charm and character that’s held back by some design choices that just didn’t do it for me. I appreciate the effort put into building a colorful game world filled with characters that do seem straight out of a long-established anime or manga, and the simple puzzles make exploring and progression pleasantly relaxing. If I wasn’t fairly sour with the way combat has been implemented I’d find the experience to be an easy recommendation, but as it stands there’s a bit too much that needs to be polished before the game can really shine.

I went into Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom with a lot of hope that it could successfully achieve all it was set out to do with this unique blend of arena based fighter injected into an action-RPG. The indie studio had a lot of ambition and heart for the project, but it disappointingly doesn’t manage to pull off all these cool ideas together into a coherent package. Shiness has the visuals right, but there are too many minor faults throughout the game across its combat, platforming and performance that it is hard to truly recommend what is actually a refreshing RPG at heart, especially with so many great games releasing lately. That said, there is fun here in small doses, so if you are looking for something a bit different after exhausting all the big guns, then it might scratch a certain itch that people are looking for, and with it not being the longest of RPGs, you might get through it without as much irritation with its faults as I did.

An action role-playing game that does a lot of things well, such as the deep battle system, exploration, and setting. At the same time, none of these are truly original, preventing it from being truly great. Still, those who love action RPGs from the 90s will find plenty to like in the game since Shiness is quite fun for the whole duration of the adventure, despite its predictable story, lackluster writing and somewhat wonky battle controls.

The cartoon style and bright colors makes for an incredible graphic appeal while the use of comic book frame animations for cut scenes keeps them from getting routine. Shiness is a one of the few games in which I dont want to skip all the dialogue and cut scenes

The term so close, yet so far away fits perfectly here. I adore so much of what this game does, but the combat becomes its Achilles Heel. With some tweaking this could easily be a franchise action RPG I would gladly play every few years. As it sits now, the frustration kept me from enjoying the best parts of Shiness and its world.

Shiness: The Lighting KingdomA game that grows on you.In shiness the lighting kingdom you play as chado trying to get to the source of theShiness: The Lighting KingdomA game that grows on you.In shiness the lighting kingdom you play as chado trying to get to the source of the evil shi…And as you progress through the story you unlock companions that join in on your adventure...This game took a while for me to like…It’s a very awkward feeling game... and from the combat to the platforming its stiff…Even by the games end I still wasn’t in love… but I did come to ultimately enjoy this game…The worst part of this game is the puzzles…Each character has a unique ability that lets them solve pieces to puzzles that stop game progression…you never know when one will show up.. but thankfully even though you can only have 3 members in your party at a time, you can quickly swap characters in and out of your team when these puzzles do appear and you don’t have the right character with you…Thankfully these puzzles are easy, but still a bit annoying…Other than solving puzzles which are few and far between, you’ll be going to a point on the map in the various locations you visit and try to avoid or defeat every enemy in your way to level up…The combat system though much like the entire game takes some getting used to and definitely lacks a bit of polish…You can parry attacks, block them, roll, kick and punch… use disciplines you unlock from shops, chests and defeating enemies for in battle perks or unlocking magic attacks that use one of the 4 shi elements…It’s easy enough to spam ranged attacks, though some enemies are immune to certain magic and there is a certain amount of shi you can use before you go to a save point and restock..But each battle takes place in a dome that changes colors, and your character is able to concentrate to refill needed shi during battle and get a boost of regeneration if the elements match…And eventually you’ll be able to do a hyper moves which pauses the battle and lets you quickly put in the right button combination on screen and pull off a power move that usually take away about half of an enemies health…The problem with this though is that it gets a little old watching the scene playout each time…You are able to skip the animation, but I found doing so will sometimes cause the game to not read any damage done to your opponent, but still depletes your hyper meter…So in tough fights I advise not taking the chance by skippingAnd speaking of bugs and unpolish…You are able to able to switch between any of the 4 characters in your party anytime during battle as well as map commands such as heal with enemy and ally stipulations..But the switching isn’t the most responsive system in the world…I found myself mashing the swap button to make sure my character didn’t die…And occasionally you’ll kind of be forced to swap when your character gets stuck midair.. which was rare, but did happen a few times…I also ran into a bug after a certain boss about 10 hours into the game that after defeating them my character got stuck behind an invisible wall…Which are everywhere… in places that they shouldn’t be so that if it does happen players can hop back into the map instead of being stuck and having to quit the game, reload and fight the boss all over again like I did… and after defeating them the 2nd time.. My character was standing on air again... but thankfully I could jump forward to stop it from happening again…Shiness: The Lighting Kingdom is an enjoyable journey…I had fun…I enjoyed swapping the disciplines, learning new combos for my characters, swapping the gear in my party and I loved the fact that non active party members leveled up with the rest of my crew…But a lack of polish definitely hold this good game back from being great…I give Shiness: The Lighting Kingdoma 7.0/10

All in all, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is a phenomenal game that deserves to be played and enjoyed by anyone who is a fan of RPG action games.
