If you want to have fun and not always play serious boring game after game you will enjoy this one. If you play it on hard the bosses can be quite difficult but it’s all about strategy. Once you figure out what works it becomes easier.

While they do change the way the enemy looks,which does freshen it up,the way you battle the enemies stays the same.Which doesn't bode well,when the game is only 3 hours at most.Luckily,the story here is a fun pop culture filled romp that kept me going to see what the next weird/out there concept would come next.With bosses based off of Kim Kardashian's butt and Paris Hilton,the boss fights have some nice variety to them.Their are also quite a few inside jokes about Shaq himself,with jokes about him being the face of Icy Hot and near the end making light of the way the game keeps sending infinite enemies your way.In the end if you are a fan of Shaq the humor he has or beat em ups this is a good,while repetitively short game that the story carries.

There are lots of enemy types and level design with ways to take the enemy down using the environment. The art work is pretty damn good... top notch graphic novel type art. Considering I got the game for $10 on Amazon, it's a great value. Considering the retro-type game play (double dragon type scrolling beat em up), it's probably a $20-$30 game. I would say the game is repetitive, but overcomes that with varied and creative enemies and and level design/locations.I'm having a blast. The game's strongest point is its humor. They spent some time on the dialog and jokes, and you get to kick annoying celebrity ass, which is always satisfying. I gauge games on if I'm having fun, and this is definitely a fun game. The art and humor are nice bonuses.

I honestly don’t know why someone thought Shaq Fu needs to be reborn and how the word “legend” fits the picture.

Shaq Fu is a classic beat'em up game, that offers good variety of movements and action, counting with Shaquille as main character. Despite this, the gameplay is quite simple and the action turns in pushing buttons with no sense. It displays a good design, cartoon style with 3D graphics, but maybe it become a bad decision for the action that the game must give. After that, the performance or the constant crashes could be frustrating for a game that can't give the experience that the user deserves.

Trying to play the nostalgia chord is risky, because it has its own limits. It shows, in Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn. Despite its hilarious scenario, the game is repetitive and devoid of any attempt to create something new.

A great experience for classic 16 bits fighting games fans. Simple but organic, enjoyable and fun. A great option if we like action but also a very simple game with repetitive mechanics.

I fully expected Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn to be a complete disaster, and while it has faults, it’s competent, but yet mediocre at best. Even though it’s not completely terrible like its predecessor, Shaq needs to be remembered for his ball skills, not voice acting and games. Icy-Hot won’t save you from this one.

While I suggest picking it up for the comedy factor and some of the stylish game play, I would still recommend you wait for a slight price drop for now, but when it does happen, pick this one up.

The legend is reborn, but is it worth it? You can go and fight baddies as Shaq fu again, but in a really really short game. The game looks good and plays nicely, but you can only do so alone. And all that makes it simply too expensive.

From being a technical disaster and unfunny self-aware piece of software, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is an embarrassment to Shaq-Fu's 16-bit legacy. The original may not have been much, but at least it was not made ironically. The original was made by a talented team that did the best it could with what it had. A Legend Reborn is made with current technology and it somehow looks uglier and plays worse than the game that was coded in the '90s with pixels.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is a bland and repetitive brawler that tries too hard in the comedy department. Some good ideas are scattered throughout and the art is great, but it’s too little to really prop up the game. Short enough to get through in a couple of hours, however, the lack of co-op and the dull structure leaves a lot to be desired. Big Deez set out to rewrite history, but some things are best left alone.

This is a bad game. It’s not worth $20 and, in my opinion, not worth $5, unless you’re the kind of person that would get a kick out of Paris Hilton slut jokes in 2018 and can’t get enough lazy, casual racism.

Shaquille O’Neal has been a larger than life human being for most of his life and I must admit that I like him very much because he’s alwaysShaquille O’Neal has been a larger than life human being for most of his life and I must admit that I like him very much because he’s always managed to make me laugh. As you can imagine then I’ve been really looking forward to Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn since I first heard about it last year, and thankfully as far as side-scrolling beat-em-up’s go it’s actually a pretty decent addition to the genre. Don’t get me wrong it’s not the best beat-em-up I’ve ever played before and it does suffer with a few shortcomings, but in the end it gets more things right than it gets wrong and most important of all it’s fun. If you like story’s that are packed with humour then you will love what this game has to offer. I must admit that the game’s humour had me chuckling out loud quite a few times, and I especially enjoyed the Shaq references that were dotted throughout the game. The gameplay that accompanies this wacky story also has a decent amount of fun included in it and it was nice to see that the combat remained fluid and responsive throughout thanks to the decent controls. You will however bump into a few technichal issues every now and then though, and whilst none of them are major I did get annoyed a few times especially when it came to the collision detection. You will also notice that the game’s difficulty spikes out of nowhere from time to time and this can be frustrating especially when you’re trying to get a high score. Even though the difficulty can be a problem at times it still didn’t stop me from having fun with this game and I think this was mainly down to the enemies that are present in the game. Each enemy has had a lot of thought and effort placed into them and a lot of variety also comes with the enemies which means fighting them very rarely gets dull even though you can’t pull off many moves when fighting them. Unfortunately whilst the content that’s present is pretty fun and enjoyable there just isn’t enough of it. You can literally complete this game in a couple of hours and the lack of content means that you’re highly unlikely to come back to the game, which is a shame. Thankfully though there is nothing lacking when it comes to the presentation side of the game. The visuals and sound design have a fun and quirky feel to them and when they both combine together they do in a way make the gameplay that little bit more fun, which is great. At the end of the day even though Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn suffers with a few problems I still ended up having a fun and enjoyable time with the game. Don’t get me wrong this game isn’t for everybody but if you like fun and wacky beat-em-up’s then you will definitely find something here that will tickle your fancy.

Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn follows the story of Shaq Fe-Hung from the Chinese town Hung-Lo. He abandons his mother to fight against the demons that Yen-Lo-Weng has sent to Earth. He trains with his mentor Ye-Ye until he is murdered by the minions of of Yen-Lo-Weng. As Ye-Ye utters his last breath, he tells Shaq that Yen-Lo-Weng has sent demons to Earth disguised as celebrities, and Shaq must kill these celebrities and save humanity. All the characters are so in-depth and brought out to the public. They are so bright with personality, whether it's being caring, or being edgy, or determined enough to save the world, Shaq-Fu has all of it there. Such characters such as Shaq, or Ye-Ye, spoke to me on a personal level, and I cried at multiple times during the extremely crisp 12K resolution, 10,00 fps cut scenes, which really tug at your heart.Along with the riveting and heart-wrenching story, Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn also excels in the aspect of gameplay. Shaq is an outstanding choice for the protaganist of this game and it shows in his personality, attitude, and his gameplay style. He can use multiple attacks and use a super attack, which may have drawn inspiration from Mega Man, but done much better, as Mega Man pales in comparison to this masterpiece of all media and enterntainment. The games focus, as I mentioned, is on Shaq's multiple superhuman abilities to defeat the evil celebrities. Shaq can kick AND punch, which is absolutely insane for a game of this age. No other games are as packed with amazing content and gameplay mechanics such as this singular game. I was never bored, this game features some of - sorry, THE best the best level design in a game ever, while keeping things fresh with it's ever changing roster of mechanics. (Which are once again, better than Mega Man's.)Plus the presentation is stunning running at 12K on all platform including the Atari 2600. Whoops! It seems as though I forgot to mention that this game is playable on every single games console in existence, while being able to play the same high in technicality controls, gameplay, along with the high definition graphics. Consoles from the Atari 2600 to the Nintendo Gamecube to the XBOX One, Shaq-Fu runs like a dream on all platforms and plays with the same controls while being locked at 10,000 fps.Overall Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is definitely the greatest piece of media in the history of all humankind. This game belongs in something of a museum. It possesses all the natural traits of art, while pushing it to its own limit, and making itself better by the second. Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is my favorite thing in this entire universe. And nothing comes close to topping this masterpiece.
