The Final Chapter in the Kingdom Hearts saga comes with superb visuals, great story telling and an excellent combat system, that make all those years since the release of the previous major game in the franchise worth the wait.

So, has the decade long wait for this anticipated sequel lived up to all the hype? It’s hard to say. I did enjoy my 30 hours with it by the time the credits rolled, and can easily go back for another 50+ hours for bonus stuff should I desire in the future. It’s such an odd feeling to finally have some closure and finality to the series I’ve been enjoying for almost two decades, but it’s finally time to say goodbye to this chapter of Kingdom Hearts and await to see what comes next, hopefully with a much shorter wait this time around and a much more concise way of storytelling.

Fans of the series have been waiting for this game for a long time, and Kingdom Hearts III will not disappoint them. Both the new and old worlds are a joy to play through, and you are given the freedom to explore them as and when you want. The story is complicated, there's no denying it, and this is not an easy jumping on point for people new to the series. If you put your time into this game there's an abundance of rewards to get out of it, only tarnished by some minor gameplay issues. Sora's latest adventure is magical.

After so many years Kingdom Hearts III needed to be a strong send-off for the series, and for the most part, it is. The gameplay is still top tier and encourages diving back in once the credits have rolled to track down missed items and a secret boss. The individual worlds are gorgeous, and deserve to be combed through for every last scrap of treasure. It’s just a shame that plot stumbles over itself so many times because it really does drag the game down, but if I turn off the analytical part of my brain just enough, there truly is something special here.

The game pitches itself as the finale to a series so many have grown up with, but it hasn’t matured with its audience or video games as a medium.

There’s nothing quite like Kingdom Hearts. It’s like the most elaborate fan fiction of the Disney universe – a digital walkthrough of the movies with a loosely connective narrative tissue that just doesn’t matter much when all is said and done. If you embrace that it’s all nonsense to serve you up a delightful nostalgic romp through some of the greatest and most beloved family films, you’re not going to be disappointed.

Kingdom Hearts III manages to answer many of the series pending questions, entertaining us with an immediate and maybe a bit too easy but very funny gameplay and wowing us with awesome graphics. Story and gameplay might have been better paced and we feel something more could have been made on the many series' pending plots, but this definitely is a game every lover of the series needs to play.

Even though i really liked Kingdom Hearts 3 it feels like it was a bit rushed... and also lacked content in relation to retail price. I managed to finish the main storyline in 26 hours and i am no pro gamer. I wil try to break the game down, with all its pros and cons.13 long years since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 and i think we all have been very eager to get our hands on Kingdom hearts 3. The story feels well written even though a lot of things are very hard to explain, the relation between heartless, nobodies, the organisation and of course kingdom hearts. The story is very linear, and there are some extra content wich will keep you entertained besides the main story. But as i mentioned earlier i do lack content and elements from kingdom hearts 2, for exampel the wide range of equipment and the ability to craft objects. One other thing is that it felt like they had some problems with music rights. The pirates of the Caribbean arch does not have its original score and i think that there is one other world as well. I do also miss some characters that have been totally excluded, no final fantasy characters at all. Well it can not be easy for the developpers to meet the expectations, but again 13 years, so i definitely feel like they could have made improvements. The controls feels very sharp even though during some fights the camera angle really went bananas. But if you have played any other title in the series it will feel very natural. I do like the fact that they have included game mechanics from other titles such as kingdom hearts birth by sleep. The dialog is okay but nothing extraordinary, but it does feel like a rushed job at some points. It was a really bold move of the developpers to switch to unreal engine... which could be one of the reason to why it feels rushed and the lack of content. There is so much game here in Kingdom Hearts 3, and it’s all coming from the mind of an auteur with far too much power. But if you dare to take that plunge, as much of an investment as it is, there is a great adventure to be had here. So much adventure. Probably too much. After all, this isn’t really Kingdom Hearts 3. It’s more like, seven, or ten, or something.

The developer has refined and perfected the combat. It kept its silliness in tact. It kept in the darker themes and deep moments of self-reflection that we all need every once in awhile. It’s, quite frankly, the best Kingdom Hearts game Square Enix has ever created.

Sora, Donald and Goofy are now very fast and take you through an array of endearing experiences and characters. The script continues to have problems but everything else is a memory that will stick with you forever.
