I mean it does lead you with some unanswered questions but that's how it's supposed to be. Speaking of which, I wish the DLC would come out soon. I also like the slow down and reply mechanic. The replay mechanic comes from the developer's other game pause ahead and the developers always have something up their sleeve with gameplay mechanics as the tower of heaven(the first game I played from them), also had a unique mechanic. The slow down mechanic really helps a lot with making the game fun too. Lastly when the game was announced at a Nintendo direct, I slept on it and I regret it as the game was way more fun hands on than when I saw the game at the direct. I just thought it was a random killing game but I couldn't be more wrong.

Katana ZERO on Xbox One and through Xbox Game Pass offers another simplistically violent video game at first glance, but before long the game starts playing with your perceptions, and by that point you are invested until the conclusion. And with several different endings and speedrun abilities to unlock, you could find yourself coming back more than once.

Katana Zero is a mesmerizing title. The narrative twists and turns in odd ways, and the payoff is both open and satisfying. The action is crisp if you can commit everything to memory well enough to create small, bloody masterpieces. With a familiar yet attractive presentation, Kata Zero feels right at home on the indie-loving machine that is the Nintendo Switch.

Katana Zero is on the short side, but it uses every minute of its 5-6 hour run-time well, packed to the brim with satisfying carnage and a brain-bending narrative. It’s not often that a game so completely blindsides me, entering my radar and winning me over so quickly, and it’s a wonderful feeling when it happens. In fact, my only gripe, and it’s incredibly minor, is that I wish there was just a little bit more of it to love. I have no hesitations about recommending this game for just about everyone.

I see this game in a few years as a pixel-slasher classics, among the masterpieces like Hyper Light Drifter and Hotline Miami. The only minuses are overall shortness (4 to 8 hours) and a bit repetitive gameplay - however, you will enjoy it.

A cryptic scenario well brought on, very fine gameplay, generous without being frustrating, the visuals are delightful, the soundtrack is funny and everything is magestically orchestrated. It is difficult to blame anything after the baby of Askiisoft, maybe a lack of a Time Attack mode that would match perfectly with the genre.

Stylish action and surprisingly deep storytelling are the two main pillars of an extraordinary action game. Katana ZERO is a must have and probably one of the best game published by the iconic Devolver Digital. It's fun, smart and challenging in the best way possible.

Completing each of the 11 missions only took a few hours but my playtime increased dramatically trying to earn each of the different endings. In so many aspects I was left wanting more. I want to play more as the secondary character, I want to understand the story better, and in so many cases I just want to know what the hell is going on. Katana Zero is such a wild drug-crazed adventure that I just can’t get enough of and I will continue to be getting my fix of it for weeks to come.
