Know somebody who might be like this game?

Summary

The fourth instalment in the series, Just Cause 4 wastes no time in transporting players to South America for another encounter with a war-torn community set on being liberated from the evil powers that enslave them. Players take control of Rico Rodriguez as he travels to Solis to free its inhabitants from a dictator who is purportedly able to control the weather when unleashing all sorts of anarchy on the townspeople.

Just Cause 4 doesn't rewrite the book when it comes to the series, but it does use a modified version of the developer's game engine known as Apex. Apex is based on various technologies that allow players to be fully immersed in the game's weather changing effects and they will experience all sorts of devastating conditions such as tornadoes, sandstorms, and even icy conditions and blizzards that all force Rico into more precarious positions and troubling situations that players must compensate for during their journey. Apex also makes use of a much stronger programming code for the game's artificial intelligence, which makes opponents far harder to outwit and beat as players work towards freeing Solis.

Fortunately, three of the main necessities of the game are all available to players right from the word go. When players start the game, they will begin their adventure with a parachute, a wingsuit, and a grappling hook to start the explosion-filled experience of working their way to the end of the game. It also allows players to travel very large distances in a short space of time in order to unlock the other elements of the game and acquire skills that will ultimately help Rico defeat the evil powers-that-be.

If you're looking for something with a lot of devastation, then Just Cause 4 is a game that thoroughly delivers on all fronts. Fiery explosions, rumbling earthquakes, and bone-shattering weaponry is all par the course when playing the game and it's certainly earned its rightful place within the headlining action games of 2018. Players needn't necessarily explore the game in a linear fashion either. From the snowy mountains, to thick jungle, or the urban cityscape, players can choose to liberate certain areas of Solis by completing their assigned missions as they please. Different landscapes pose different levels of difficulty and this is entirely dependent on a player's own personal preferences when it comes to action titles, so it's up to the player to explore Solis in a manner they see fit.

The newly released Apex engine also lends itself to some pretty stunning visuals. Because weather plays such a critical role to the game, players can fully expect to be completely immersed in the various effects that it will have on their experience and should take a few moments to enjoy the spectacular events of nature that are unfolding right before their very eyes. This is also complimented appropriately by excellent effects that apply themselves not only to the sounds of nature, but also to the weaponry and banter of the townspeople Rico will encounter throughout.
