Jump King

Know somebody who might be like this game?

Summary

Jump King is a challenging climbing-platformer where suspense builds with every jump! Struggle upwards and explore the unknown while doing your best to avoid your inevitable fall back down...

Storyline

The game is built on a single iconic mechanic: charge the height of each jump by holding down the button and release to leap away! But beware - once you are in the air there is no way to turn back! Though you cannot die, your progress is fragile - a single missed jump could lead to your fall and much progress lost...
Leap through an intriguing world, meeting curious characters along the way. The hand-drawn backgrounds and distinct animations paint a rare picture, reminiscent of the old classics! The blend of retro sfx, beautiful arrangements and high definition ambiences give a peculiar atmosphere - thanks to composers/sound designers Nils Eklöf and Elias Thörnlund.

This game is a trial that demands skill and willpower, mastering the jump and reaching the top will test the limits of your ability! Do you think you have what it takes to defeat this game!?

I wanted to give feedback thru the game, but when I clicked on "feedback" it took me to a page in another language (Portuguese, I think) and couldn't change to English when I clicked on the English icon. Great start tho!

There's a reason why most platformers let you control yourself when in the middle of a jump, so you can correct yourself and what not. It's either all, nothing or you lose lots of progress.

This is an awful game. It is 90% pain and suffering. But it is also an awesome game, despite only 10% left to spend on enjoyment. ThisThis is an awful game. It is 90% pain and suffering. But it is also an awesome game, despite only 10% left to spend on enjoyment. This because of the addicting feeling of reaching new ground after the first 10 failed attempts. Just to fall back down and redo the same thing another 10 times to be able to return to where you just were. This game is an ingenious craft. It falls into the category of easy to learn, hard to master. Everyone will get the gimmick right away, but not many will find the jumping mechanic cooperative. And the levels are cleverly insidious, always trying to trick you into mistakes. The satisfaction and relief of finally beating the game felt so good. Like an actual accomplishment in life.
