Note: the only spoiler is at the end of the review. The art style is great. You even can change characters' colors. A long time passes since I saw something like this in a 2d game. Interesting story, engaging characters, even NPCs are interesting. But everything else in this game is bad.Platforming: some places are really hard to get to. Dash is quite hard to initiate using a stick. And rest of the movement is uncomfortable with arrows. Aerial abilities also fail sometimes. Some parts of the levels' took me more than 10 tries just because I was not able to activate an ability or just activated another one.Game and level design. I want designers to suffer as much as I did. Lots of things that have no sense at all. Empty secret rooms. Why did you even bother to create them? It's not just an empty space on the edge of the map. There actually were doors that can only be opened with a specific ability. Maybe you just forgot to put red gems there?Lots of tight platforming sections. It might be okay, but respawn points on the level make no sense at all. You can be respawned right before the section, or half level earlier. The last level is just an abomination. Wind sections that I don't understand why they even exist. Sometimes wind moved me halfway in the air in a place that I would not expect it to be. There were places where I can just skip a lot of platforming by a double aerial dash.Enemies. Well, they are quite interesting. But... There were unkillable enemies. They are story-based, but I had no way to understand this from the game itself. Also because of the very odd checkpoints system sometimes I was set back in the level beyond the last save point. I literally had to load the game to be closer to that enemy, than after I was revived. Some enemies can't be killed because they just fall off the cliff during battle. While characters just return on the platform, enemies just vanish. The checkpoint system is very odd. As I mentioned before, they are scattered very randomly. Besides that sometimes enemies are revived as well, but sometimes they are not, and sometimes they are revived only once.My recommendation to those who are thinking on whether to buy it or not. Just watch a playthrough. It looks much better there than it actually plays.-- Spoiler ahead --For some reason, there were tons of red gems just scattered all over the last level. Just in case the player skipped some of them during the game? Then why did I put so much effort to collect all of them? You can just give all the improvements for free. Why not? Secrets, platforming, backtracking.... meh, just get them. In reality, you could just put extra gems on the levels, for example in empty secret rooms.

I know I’ve probably done a horrible job of capturing what makes Indivisible so wonderful, but you’ve got to believe me: it really is a fantastic game. If I can love it despite it featuring a whole bunch of elements I usually dislike, I think that speaks to just how good it is — and it means that you already are a fan of anime-inspired graphics, metroidvania platforming, or turn-based combat, then you should find even more to enjoy here.
