GoatPunks is an incomplete game. Not only is most of the game left unfinished, there is zero balance in the one mode that it does offer.

The gameplay is an incredible amount of fun when in full flow and as far as party games go it’s a very good addition to the genre. Each power-up in the game feels like they matter and the creativity each power-up has means they’re really fun when you use them. I found trying out each goat character to be rewarding because each one feels different and each one has a different power which means no game plays out the same way. While it isn’t the best looking and sounding game in the world I actually found both the visuals and sound design to carry quite a bit of charm within them. There is an easy to pick up and play style implemented into this game which means gamers of all ages can have fun with this. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount and a few more modes and stages would’ve been nice. More customization would also be a nice touch because adding your own personality would give the game more character. There aren’t too many game’s out there that only allow you to play with 3-4 players and that’s a shame in my opinion because when a game gets certain aspects right the amount of fun that can be had is almost endless. GoatPunks is a game that has got these certain aspects right and when in full flow this game delivers fun and enjoyable moments by the boatload. These fun and enjoyable moments can be experienced by gamers of all ages as well because the easy to pick up and play style means it never gets too complicated to understand what you have to do. In terms of content the game doesn’t have a huge amount for you to get to grips which is a shame because the content it does have has tons of variety. This variety comes in the form of multiple characters and power-ups for you try out and without a doubt trying each character and power-up was fun and rewarding. I will say though that a little bit more in terms of customisation would’ve been nice because in the end the characters can all look a bit samey. At the end of the day then GoatPunks is probably one of my favourite indie titles so far this year and that’s mainly because its core idea is simple yet very effective and this in the end will definitely make you want to return back to the game time and time again.
