The game is simple and allows for you to pace it however you please. The glitches in the game and some poor design choices leave it buried in a heap of rubble without any feeling of real accomplishment after you finish. Because of the negatives, I would have to say this game is just pretty mediocre.

The presentation side of the game is packed to the rafters with charm because both the visuals and sound design combine together perfectly. The presentation side of the game is packed to the rafters with charm because both the visuals and sound design combine together perfectly. There are decent amount of levels for you to get to grips with and each level has a lot of variety and different challenges to keep things fresh. I really enjoyed the gameplay because it had a number of interesting mechanics in play at the same time and each mechanic added something different to the game. This game is accessible to a number of different gamers and playing the game in local co-op delivers quite a lot in terms of fun and enjoyable moments. It can be fun when playing on your own it does get repetetive quite quickly when played this way.Unfortunately the game doesn’t offer you any online components which is a shame because an inclusion of an online mode would’ve given the game replayability. There isn’t lots of content for you to get to grips with which makes the game a tad overpriced in my opinion. Fossil Hunters is a game that the Xbox One doesn’t really have and its uniqueness caught my eye immediately. Thankfully this uniqueness shines in a number of areas and on the whole the game was really fun, especially when I played with my children in local co-op. You can also play the game on your own as well but I would recommend that you play it with somebody else because it does get repetetive quite quickly when played in solo. Even though it does get repetetive after a while it still didn’t stop me from returning back to the game time and time again. The main reason why it kept me coming back for more is because digging up fossils is interesting and very addictive and the reason it’s addictive is because there are a number of different mechanics in play at the same time. This then means that I would’ve liked a little more content because you can blow through the game quite quickly and for me there just isn’t enough of it. That being said Fossil Hunters still does more than enough to get a recommendation from me because it creates fun and enjoyable moments for gamers of all ages.
