Game Summary

Far Cry: New Dawn is a continuation of the series and follows on nearly two decades after Far Cry 5. At the conclusion of the game, a series of nuclear warheads all but obliterated the majority of civilization and New Dawn sees the results of that when humanity starts to bring itself out of the nuclear fallout and former world. While the game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, New Dawn attempts to incorporate some of the more positive imagery of this sort of setting and even presents a few scientific facts of what may happen should this sort of event befall the world as we know it.

The first observation players will see is just how natural everything is presented following the nuclear winter. There is some hint of scientific truth in this because nature is known to go through superblooms after periods of dormancy when the local fauna and plant life are given opportunities to thrive. This does away with the preconceived notion that a post-apocalyptic setting is all dark, dreary, and generally dirty throughout. In fact, it's quite a pleasant scene after a little while. Players may be able to recognize various settings and areas of the map based on previous instalments of the Far Cry game, but many of them are now covered in a fine grit that simply allows players to pass over the areas rather than have any real exploration opportunities.

In the new world, there are various bandits and the main enemy that players will encounter are based on the true-to-life Highwaymen of the England and modern inceptions of the group in the United States. In the game, biker gangs roam freely and terrorize whatever towns they enter in search of loot for their own personal survival. The Highwaymen also seek to control the world's supply of biofuel, which has risen to become the most precious commodity in these dark times. The Highwaymen also seemingly have a silent pledge to Far Cry 5's lead antagonist, Joseph Seed. It's up to players to do away with these presences in order to restore some semblance of hope and civilization into this chaotic new world.

The game plays similarly to other Far Cry titles in that players will be transported to various locations in search of supplies and to do away with the local villains who are wreaking havoc on the land. In many respects, New Dawn is a continuation of what players would expect following the end of Far Cry 5. However, rather than simply rebooting all of what the former instalment brought to the gaming scene, there has been a strong visual refresh and some places are completely inaccessible to players.

The visual refresh is perhaps what players appreciate most about the game. Scoring highly on its visual and audio presentation, New Dawn offers players a new glimpse into the Far Cry world by making use of current tech and the lush vibrancy of newly-bloomed flowers. It's sure an interesting take on the apocalypse.

Fans of the Far Cry series or even first person shooters would find this game to be an excellent addition to their libraries. Far Cry: New Dawn offers a new perspective on an otherwise tried and true game setting and does so incredibly well. Download it today.
