Summary
"Developed by OneorEight and previously released in Japan under the name Earth Wars, "Earth’s Dawn" fuses frenetic side-scrolling action mechanics with RPG elements and a hard-edged manga aesthetic to deliver a deep and unique gameplay experience.
From the outset Earth’s Dawn gives gamers the freedom to enjoy the game their way – from creating their own character; customization of skill trees to augment abilities best suited to play style; weapon and equipment crafting; alongside a unique narrative-driven branching mission system."
Storyline
"After decades of peace, the Earth was decimated by an invasion from an alien race known to humans as E.B.E. The E.B.E. moved across the planet like a plague of locusts, consuming anything in their path and wiping out most of humanity. All attempts to fight back were futile, as the E.B.E. appeared to be resilient to every kind of weapon that mankind could offer.
At the last moment a breakthrough was made: by using weaponry crafted from the E.B.E’s own technology, a weakness was discovered that could be exploited. Bionic implants were quickly developed and implanted into the most superior forces left alive, creating super soldiers capable of taking the fight to the E.B.E. A plan was devised and the objective was clear: retake Earth at all costs and drive the E.B.E. to the edge of extinction as they had once us."

Earth's Dawn Reviews & Ratings
Absolutely one of the best games of it's type, and probably the only game of it's type on the xb1 platform. It just feels awesome to play.Absolutely one of the best games of it's type, and probably the only game of it's type on the xb1 platform. It just feels awesome to play. Tashikani, it is reminiscent of muramasa rebirth and odin's sphere and Dragon's Crown, but c'mon...that's probably the highest compliment that can be given to a 2-D devil may cry.Beyond that, the art design is gorgeous. It's just beautiful to look at. I love the segmented 2D look of this and Odin's and i hope we see more of it.
Despite the good aestethic, Earth's Dawn is a repetitive old-school beat 'em up. But if you can come to terms with its faults, it can be catchy with its deep and solid mecanics.
The combat, skills, and crafting system are all so well done that I never felt like I was just grinding and wasting my time. Every fight was enjoyable regardless of how often I had seen a specific enemy or even if it was my third time doing a mission.
Even with its flaws, I think many people will enjoy Earth's Dawn, but I don't expect it to be a hit or even a cult classic. If anything those starved for something similar to Odin's Sphere or an RPG-style beat 'em-up might get some enjoyment out of it, while most will find the repetition a bit too much.
Earth’s Dawn has many good ideas going for it, but unfortunately doesn’t execute them in a way that brings excellence to the action RPG genre. It’s a good game but doesn’t reach any level of greatness; it is entertaining but not enthralling.
