Driver San Francisco CD Key is considered to be a racing based, action adventure game, created by Ubisoft Reflections and its publisher is Ubisoft. It was at the E3 2010 that the game was revealed officially. On 1st September 2011, the game got launched in Australia, on 2nd September 2011 in Europe and 6th September 2011 in North America. The game has been released for Xbox 360 and PS 3, while on 27th September 2011, the MS Windows version had been released. It runs on Reflections Engine. It has been directed by Craig Lawson and Martin Edmondson and produced by Gary Ushaw, Chris Hadley and Marie-Jo Leroux. The game is designed by Dale Scullion, Andrew Willans and Jean-Sebastian Decant and written by David Midgley and James Worrall, while composition is provided by Marc Canham.

Shift is the new feature introduced in the game that allows Tanner, the protagonist of the game to get teleported from a specific car to the other without having to discontinue the mission. The Shift is said to have been inspired by ‘Google Earth’. It has received positive reviews and praises for its multiplayer abilities, more specifically, ‘shift’ mechanic that has been termed to be innovative.
