There is a definite skill curve, considering that this game was made with PC in mind, where I struggle on even some of the easier songs so far, but I think it's possible to still have fun in this game. The main positives I have to give are:+ the soundtrack, I couldn't help but jam along to a lot of the tracks in-game. Also, the sheer number of songs. Just short of 180 are available and you have 80 unlocked from the start.+ the UI. It felt clean and concise, not much else to say. However, there were some things I'm not a fan of:- Like I said, the skill curve. the Xbox controller is not optimized to the level of the PC release or its original PS4 release, so there is serious input lag, which is not fun.- The port localization felt downright sloppy. When I was going through the tutorial, it listed the PC keybindings for actions, not the Xbox bindings, which just felt lazy. I even spotted a noticeable typo in the tutorial messages, which made me a little disappointed. It really feels like no work was done in localizing this in the slightest.- The game is downright unforgiving. There are many unlockables locked behind 100%ing songs, and the window to land notes in this game is extremely finicky, which makes things extremely frustrating.- Lack of modes. Outside of basic online and freeplay, there's a rudimentary mission mode of sorts, but even that felt overly demanding. It might just be that I suck at rhythm games, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the gameplay in this. However, there are still some positives. I'm giving DJMAX RESPECT V a 6/10 for right now. It's promising, but it's extremely frustrating and unforgiving as a game.

It's a good Rhythm game that's very similar to the game Beatmania and even spawned Osu!Mania's copycat mode which pales in comparison to DJMaxIt's a good Rhythm game that's very similar to the game Beatmania and even spawned Osu!Mania's copycat mode which pales in comparison to DJMax and Beatmania.Plenty of enjoyable songs from Asian creeators that I find myself replaying several different times from 4 to 8 buttons.Although the song selection isn't favorable to everyone, it's still an enjoyable experience. Constantly getting newer DLC and updates too. I haven't enjoyed this game much since DJMax Fever in 2009.They do have to improve a few things though for me to rate this higher. One problem is the game must always be online. The other is I get constant stutters and it's not just on my PC.
