The international version of Digimon World Next Order is intentionally 10 times harder than the Japanese version, with digivolution requirements being 10x higher, stat gains being 10x lower and enemies stats being 10x higher, meaning you have a game where you can grind your ass off all the way to Mega and still be drastically under leveled to fight champion enemies in a story mission area. The fact that they willingly decided to give Western fans a middle finger after years of Digimon games not coming to the west is incredibly insulting and results in a damn well unplayable mess of a video game that was extremely niche to begin with. Go **** yourself Bandai Namco.

this is coming from a vpet veteran since vpet versions 1-5 and a world one diehardman i am really getting annoyed with these negativethis is coming from a vpet veteran since vpet versions 1-5 and a world one diehardman i am really getting annoyed with these negative comments from vpet virginsdont listen to those negative comments they clearly dont know what they are talking about, because they never played a vpet style game beforei do enjoy this game i put like a thousand hours total recentlyi do have to say some flaws in this game are present-partner digimon ai in combat-the lifespan feels too short-the techpool is half of the time decent and half of the time not so much-too much is luck based like fishing, card gathering and treasure hunter-the one bug that freezes the game, like as your partner gets morphed into the flat ailment you will get stuck in the game even after the fight is over because your partner still has the flat ailment on and cannot be cured, so it forces a manual reboot-roster is too redundant like too much recolors of most digimon like say 3 different megalogrowmons-simple glitches are still not fixed like graphical kinds, and texts, like growmon's entry is a copy paste of galgomon's entry in the field guide-most agitation abilities are not worth usingso my advise to improve in the sequel is first and foremostlisten to those with intellectual feedback2nd fix the above flaws3rd take your time to iron out the littlest bugs and test it outso yeah love this game, definitely recommend it to vpet diehardsand at the same time the flaws need to be known, acknowledged of their presence and their issues, then learn from the mistakes

After Cyber Sleuth got our expectations real high, Digimon World: Next Order is crushed under those expectations. Although they are parts of two different series, Next Order still feels like an old and less fun game.

On a whole, Digimon World: Next Order isn’t a bad experience. It does take some time in order to get used to the flow of the game, and to deal with its irritations, but once you're there, you're in for what might potentially be a very addictive grind indeed.

It takes a little too much to reward the player for its progresses, but it's a really enjoyable adventure for fans of the series. If you like the first Digimon World for PSX, you'll like this one.
