Obviously, the loot isn't worth it now, it has been sunset, but I think it is unfair to judge the game by what it doesn't deliver xD. It does, however, deliver a good mix between the grind and new engaging story, it is what I expect from destiny 2 and what I got and I am satisfied. During promotions, like this one during Christmas, it is totally worth these 10 bucks.

I was gravely disappointed with the first expansion (Curse of Osiris), so at first I wasn’t even interested in reviewing Forsaken. Now I don’t want to part with it. It does what Reaper of Souls did for Diablo III – not only it improves the original game, but it also noticeably changes the nature of experience, transforming Destiny 2 into a new, better game! What doesn’t change is the fact that in terms of gameplay mechanics and technical execution Bungie’s game is one of the best modern first-person shooters.

Forsaken continues Destiny’s great tradition of taking a lackluster opening salvo and beefing it up with content that makes the game feel complete. Were it not for the superhuman light level climb in front of me, I would have absolutely no issue recommending this the same way I recommended The Taken King. If there was a version of original Destiny you had to play, that was it, just as Forsaken is the definite version of Destiny 2 - as long as you’re willing to make that climb.

Ultimately is Destiny 2: Forsaken worth the price of admission? Let's be honest, Bungie bungled vanilla Destiny 2 about as badly as they could have, saving turning it into a 2D side scroller (what up Zelda II: the Adventure of Link!). In the past year they have rolled back every major change implemented from D1 to D2. This is the game we should have had from the beginning. There is still work to be done, but the core of the experience is fixed. And what we have is a new version of that original game I poured hundreds of hours into. They are a real pain to defeat, though, and I feel like the faction really ups the ante from any of the other five.The new areas feel far more barren than other Destiny 2 areas, and that's saying something. Missions are still long, tedious and repetitive, and I'm sure this review sounds hopelessly negative.There are, of course, positives. It will provide you numerous hours of entertainment, until you finally realize Bungie doesn't know how to do a post-game grind whatsoever.

Bungie has done an excellent job in, not just creating enough content for the game’s fourth season and start of the second year, but in reviving a game that stuttered after its initial launch.

Forsaken implements several smart changes for the current season of Destiny 2 along with telling a thoughtful, yet darker story of vengeance. It's a comeback for Bungie.

Forsaken is the shot in the arm that Destiny 2 needed. Now it feels like there is a purpose, something to push for in grinding the end game content, and this makes a difference.

Forsaken will persistently be a different game with new things to do and discover each and every week, and I don’t see that slowing down anytime soon.

Thus far, Bungie has delivered on all fronts and even admitted its mistakes with the launch and first year of Destiny 2. Now it’s not only brought back what made me love the first Destiny when it was at its best, but also added a ton of requests that fans – myself included – have wanted for years.

This update not only has improved Destiny 2 for those buying the expansion, but also for all players, regardless of the version they own.

If you loved the original Destiny, you need to play Forsaken. If you loved Destiny 2 at launch but fell off (as I did) because of the disappointing endgame and dumbing down of the core mechanics, then you need to play Forsaken. The only thing more surprising than the turnaround Bungie have achieved is that they have done it twice now – lets hope they don’t need to do it a third time.

I loved Destiny 2: Forsaken and I liked Destiny 2. Now that the floodgates are open, I am really interested in seeing what Bungie is planning next. In any case, if you're having any kind of doubts about Destiny 2, that you won’t like it or that it might not be for you, Forsaken should dispel them.

The fact is that this does not stand on its own making the price point issue a valid one, you are basically buying the game again in order for the game to become what it should have been 1 year ago, you are paying them to add content so that it now is close to the amount it should have been on day 1. No, it drives customers away and to be honest only a few of those I played with in the beginning seem to even consider this expansion.Destiny 2 simply launched with to little content, amount of maps, the size of some, the strikes and so on and so forth. The raids on the other hand has always been great in this game but not everyone raids.There are a list of features that should have been in the game day one, like how gear and upgrading now works. The daily and weekly bounty feature is how it should have been long ago. Those I think are outside the expansion so at least something.The good.The story is by far the best one in Destiny, it could easily have been longer though so a missed opportunity even though it is the best.The new areas are good, adding a zone for max-level players with a high gear level is a good move.The addition made to the subclasses are well done.The bad.The price, at a lower price like say 20$ without the season pass and 35$ with the season pass and this would have been an easier sell. The Narrative is unlike anything we have previously seen on destiny, the feel of the came is crisp (the new weapon system and TTK changes make sure of that), and for the first time in destiny history, there is a pvp-PvE mode. Just because Bungie made massive screw-ups (the curse of the disappointment and a less disappointing Warmind) we need to remember that they orchestrated one of the greatest franchise of video game history Halo. Let's not forget that they also made The Taken King, which it is seen and Destiny 1's savior. What I am trying to say is that Bungie is capable of creating an iconic and Forsaken is nothing short of a masterpiece. Oh, and for those oblivious who say that the expansion is overpriced and that you have to pay 150$ if you haven't got the expansions, there is a bundle that you can buy for sixty bucks that include Destiny 2, Curse of Osiris, Warmind, and Forsaken. In my opinion, that IS worth the sixty dollars. Take a look at the taken king. It was also 40$ and only included 16-18 GB of content. Forsaken is ALSO 40$ and it has 47 GB OF CONTENT. That is almost enough to make Forsaken a stand-alone game. Therefore, be happy that you got a full game worth's of story, content, lore, equipment, and exotics for just 60 bucks.

Right now Forsaken seems to be taking Destiny in the right direction, giving us that killer combination of Halo and Diablo that we’ve always wanted.

I can't use the gear or weapons I want because infusion is broken and expensive, I'm bored out of my mind with the story so far and feel like the characters have no soul, none of the "improvements" bungie have implemented recently feel like they add anything amazing that Destiny 1 didn't already have and does better, and I'm frustrated that all the cool cosmetic stuff is locked behind the eververse again. My friends keep telling me it gets better once you get to level 50, they keep telling me the exotics are creative and fun, that the end game grind is super rewarding... I honestly have no drive to get to end game though as I'm burnt out from all the nonsense required to max out my character... again! If you love D2 and you wanted new content, go ahead and pick it up. There seems to be enough grind for those who are willing to put in the time. However, if you're like me and either got bored of Destiny 2 and its mediocre mechanics or if you literally have any other games to play I'd say give this dlc a pass. Also, Nolan North doesn't do Cayde any justice. I didn't even care about Cayde past the first mission because Nathan Fillion doesn't voice him in this DLC and Nolan's impression is really bad.

While not technically part of the expansion they released weapon slot changes, time to kill changes, and uncountable quality of life changes that make the game an absolute joy to play. I was embarrassed to admit that I still played Destiny 2 throughout year one. Bungie kept dragging me along with a handful of decent changes in hopes that this expansion would fix the game. It did more than that, it made this the best version of destiny to ever exist. I will say, the reason I can't give it a 10/10 is the remaining lootboxes. They break my belief in the world far too often. They are bad for the consumer and while all of that is pretty bad in my eyes the game being good makes it less obvious. They have added a lot of things to mitigate the lootboxiness of it and I'm positive that if you play a decent amount every week and use your items wisely you will get everything (just like I did in season 3).

The Forsaken puts Destiny 2 into the good path again bringing an interesting story and some good ideas to the mix, plus fixing some of the game's mistakes.

I don't really care how long it took them to realize their mistakes. I'm just glad they figured it out and delivered a solid finisher. Having a blast and won't ever change my mind. Haters gonna hate. I say "feed 'em a fist full of boomstick and move on." Me, personally? I enjoyed the game at launch. I looked past my (honestly minor) gripes toward a solid endgame, and I haven't been disappointed. The devs heard, chewed on feedback, and replied with a great DLC, so grab your handcannons, play that funky music, and go hunt the enemies of humanity. ;-)

I've been playing Forsaken for a bit now and it is so, so, so much better than the previous expansions. The story is awesome, the cutscenes are great and the amount of things to do is just insane. I'll never ever be able to finish everything, which is exactly what I'd want from this game. Admittedly it took way too long for Bungie to fix Destiny 2, but they really have and people should play and give it a chance, it'll make your life as a gamer better. Game on, guardians.
