Clan of Champions Reviews & Ratings
Were Clan of Champions a skeletal presentation piece designed to convince a publisher that these developers were worth investing in, I would give it extremely high marks. As a finished product that people are asked to pay money for, it's completely unacceptable.
The combat hits an enjoyable, if uninspired, rhythm at times, but really, Clan of Champions does nothing new, confining you to small, cookie-cutter environments and not even having the good grace to polish your loot.
Though it starts out with what appears to be grand narrative ambitions, Clan of Champions quickly abandons any pretext that it's anything more than a brawler with robust customization options. More variety and ambition would've been nice, but Clan of Champions is still worth a look if your inner warrior has been feeling neglected.
I said it when I was describing the interface: Clan of Champions is a minimal title. I don't think the people who developed it are bad game designers in any way; I just think they got lazy. They came up with an amazing premise but then didn't put enough effort into it to make it worth playing. Honestly, if you even have a somewhat decent computer, sidestep this game in favor of Dark Souls, Fable, or Kingdoms of Amular. You'll have much more fun.
