A great port, I feel so happy that my favorite game is on Switch. Compared to the version on PS Vita I've played before, this port is great.

Borderlands Legendary Collection is a good compilation of three very good games, but be aware that they need a lot of download before playing them.

Fifty dollars might seem like a hefty price tag to pay for a set of games, considering the “latest” game in it is six years old, but the Borderlands Legendary Collection offers so much value and content to justify the price tag. However, it is possible to buy the games separately if you’d like. With the literal hundreds of hours of gameplay that can be played anywhere you go, The Borderlands Legendary Collection belongs in every action game fan’s Switch library.

The collection offers a wide range of experiences suitable for any shooter fan. In solo play, the Switch combines an absurdly addicting grind with true pick-up-and-play functionality, and if you have a few friends who grab the games as well, get ready for some long, intense sessions full of wacky humor and action-packed quests. I’ve enjoyed some Borderlands in my time, but now that I’ve gotten a taste of the fully realized flexibility of portable loot-’n-shoot action, I’m not sure I ever want to play the series a different way again.

Despite the hype, Borderlands Legendary Collection never once delivered the thrills and spills I expect of a shooter. Irritations in the controls, the general gameplay, and the plodding storyline reduced my enjoyment to a minimum.

All three games present in Borderlands: Legendary Collection are well worth a play by themselves. Packed together, they represent an excellent deal on the Nintendo Switch. They play perfectly in both docked and handheld mode, and they look and run as great as anyone could hope on the hybrid system. These don't feel like compromised versions of the originals in any way, and this should be applauded. This is only held back by the lack of a proper physical release, because those are big games to download, and the heavily loot-based gameplay of the series, as well as the difficulty of the later two games, may not be to everyone's taste.

Borderlands Legendary Collection is a great way to experience the first three games in the series on the Nintendo Switch. The games play as their original counterparts (well, Game of the Year edition for the original) and run about as smooth as their original counterparts both docked and in portable mode. As you're also getting just about every DLC add-on for all three games, $50 is definitely worth picking the collection up for the portability alone. Who knows, maybe if this does well we might just see Borderlands 3 on the Switch someday.

Borderlands Legendary Collection is an excellent Switch showing for this beloved series, though it's difficult to determine if the price is right; sure, there's an enormous amount of content here so you're certainly not being ripped off, but it's old content and these games are routinely extremely cheap on other services. Still, it's a technically excellent port of three expansive, enjoyable shooters, and they're a perfect fit for the Switch. Whether played alone or with pals, the compulsive gameplay is terrific to dip into or get stuck into for a massive grinding session. If you've somehow never played Borderlands before, you can't go wrong with this set. If you have, but want to try a different character class on the bus ride home, now's your chance.

It runs at 1080p30fps and even keeps a stable framerate in splitscreen mode which makes it far superior than the PS3/Xbox360 versions of these games.However there are two major issues that in my opinion cannot be overlooked:First of all there is the poor way 2K handled the physical release of the game. I could have accepted if it required additional downloads since not all 3 games would've fit on one cartridge. But instead all they did was put half of the first game on the cartridge (which therefor requires and additional download) and only provided a download code for the other 2 Borderlands games. This means that if you want to trade or share your copy of the Borderlands collection you will only actually be able to do that with the first game since the other games are now strictly tied to your account. This is unacceptable.My second gripe with the Borderlands Legendary collection is that nothing has been done to improve the very floaty and unresponsive controls. I don't know if improving this is simply impossible on a engine level but nonetheless this results in the controls feeling almost as bad as the original console release for Xbox360/PS3. Even the inclusion of gyro aim can't remedy that since it also suffers from being very unresponsive and floaty. It is straight up the worst gyro implementation I've experienced on Switch so far.All that being said, if you just want to experience the old games as they are with some upgraded visuals this is a fantastic way to play Borderlands. Also it's fantastic that with the Borderlands collection there are finally some high profile shooter finding their way to Nintendo Switch.It's a good port of 3 quality games which unfortunately retains a lot of the issues from the original release.

run super smooth honestly didn't expect it but all of the 3 games run super smooth good series of games over-all glad they released!
